By far the worst Marriott on Earth, maybe the entire universe. I checked in, went to room to find the door cracked. After knocking to make sure nobody was inside, I entered to find stains on the walls, floor, mold in the bathroom and to top it off, a bloodstain at the foot of the bed. The hallway carpet and walls are also stained. After asking for a new room without blood on the floor, I was moved to another room without a working A/C. I had reserved a room for several additional trips to Beaumont and immediately cancelled them. The next day I checked my credit card and saw they had improperly billed me for a future stay that wasn't a prepaid stay... and I had canceled within the cancellation window. They refused to return the money for two weeks. I eventually had to dispute the charge for them to reverse it. Do not stay at this hotel! read more

They sent them my case 3 times to be resolved and the property manager continues to close it without resolution. This has been confirmed by a customer service supervisor. Not only is this property an embarrassment to Marriott, but so is the fact they cannot get a response from their own property manager or resolve an issue for a loyal customer who averages over 100 stays a night at their other properties. Was greeted by a great receptionist. Well motivated and seemed to mean it. The elevator was the first sign of a tired spot. It looked to have been pistol whipped. The room was nice and clean but had some weird funky odors. Likely high humidity was the source of all the problems. It was really tough to sleep on the bed because my feet hung off the end. I'm only about 6'3" but there is no way on earth that it was anything like a standard bed size. When did hotels start playing with the sizes of beds?!? The main complaint was that this spot was so darn wonky to get onto, into and out of. If not a nimble and quick driver, you will either miss it or bet in serious risk with the worst drivers in Texas. read more

This is an appalling place. It wreaks like urine and vomit. The carpeted floors are disgusting and not maintained at all. Our beds were great. The furniture was fine. It smelled like urine and vomit but sometimes that happens at hotels. This one was such a disappointing experience. For a Marriott? This was not one. At around 9 pm, I tried to take a shower and the water ran and ran but never got hot. I put my clothes back on, went down to the desk where I was informed that they didn't have hot water but she assured me they were coming to turn it on shortly. 8 am I woke up to go ask about the shower chair and the hot water. I was informed, no shower chair and no hot water. I asked about a manager and was told he wasn't known when he was coming in. Roy, the manager wasn't available to speak to me or to give me a call. Roy still has not called. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. They rented me a room knowing they didn't have hot water for 2 days. (The day before I came and the day I was there) The front desk woman, Cinsia (forgive me I didn't spell it right) let me know I would be getting a full refund but I have heard nothing from anyone. This place was highly disappointing and I would never recommend anyone to stay here. As you can see from the pictures of the pool, it's filthy and completely not for human use. read more

This place is disgusting. Room smells musty, washcloth on the towel rack was sticky, elevator door hangs up closes sometimes alarms constantly. TV looks like the first flat panel ever made and not surprisingly didn't work. The receptacles didn't work in the nightstand so I plugged into the wall apparently that was a dead receptacle as well. Points for a desk area and a chair that wasn't broken but there was no lights that worked within 10 feet so it was very dark hard to see. Motel 6 at least has clean comfortable rooms this was neither. Only positive is it did keep me out of the rain...my truck would have as well though and several times that seemed like a better option. For the $140+ dollars a total rip off. I'm writing this waiting to check out (I need a hard copy receipt) haven't seen an employee other than someone who after 10 minutes walked up and said nobody is here I should leave. Okay so where do I start. Our toilet wouldn't flush properly and it was backing up into our tub. The water in tub wouldn't drain. The room seemed not cleaned well and we had no trash bags in the cans. We had to ask for towels, only one in room. Downstairs when we asked to use bathroom they gave us a key to another room downstairs near Lobby but door wouldn't t unlock. We couldn't use bathrooms in lobby because out of order. I think if you have big plumbing issues maybe close your hotel down for repairs. Very bad experience for us. Front desk only offered us points of some kind which were useless to us. read more

I cannot believe this hotel is a Mariott brand. We were absolutely disgusted with the state of this hotel and are requesting a full refund from this nightmarish experience. First, when we arrived it took THREE different keys to finally get us into a room. The first key did not work and when the front desk lady came up to check the door, she asked a maintenance man to help who came out of a hotel room in street clothes carrying a beer. The door to our original room seemed stuck so she gave us a key to a different room, and that key ALSO did not work. Finally we were able to get in the room. The carpet was wet and the room smelled of mildew. The bathroom had a single toilet paper roll in it and it was 3/4 gone. The next day when we asked for a roll of toilet paper it took 45 minutes at the front desk to get one. The pool was out of service as well as the ice machine. There was no breakfast or food offered as advertised and the bar remained closed. The front desk staff could not have cared less and were awful to deal with. The common areas are shabby and filthy (the elevator was disgusting) for a hotel that claims to be "newly renovated" online. Nothing was as described at all. We could not wait to get out of this establishment. read more

When I decided on a whim to actually attend my high school reunion this year (our 25th), I didn't want to spend too much on the room where I'd only be sleeping, so I did the research and the best deal for my dates (via Hotels.com) turned up for this Courtyard Marriott hotel located just off I-10 East between the MCM Elegante (what long ago was the old Beaumont Hilton) and the Fairmont Inn. Room 222 was kind of run down in some ways (especially the bathtub, shower, and bathroom decor), but we found the queen-sized bed to be quite comfortable and we appreciated the all white bedding (to calm any bed bug paranoia). After reading a couple of the unfavorable reviews here (once we had already checked in - doh!), I did worry for a minute and perform a thorough inspection of the room, but we really had no big problems during our stay. They advertise free wifi, but we found the bandwidth to be maxed out and too slow for anything but browsing mostly text. Some other things to note: -- Front desk & coffee bar staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. When I inquired about whether the Starbucks coffee at the bar was complimentary, the concierge found that it was not (for my particular reservation), but she pulled out a coupon and replied, "Please enjoy one on me." Each time we went through the lobby, we receive smiles and warm greetings. -- As mentioned elsewhere, there is a portable dehumidifier in the room. It's fairly noisy, but we liked having the white noise to drown out the I-10 traffic sounds. If the machine turns off, the water collector tub is likely full, so you'll have to carry the bucket to the tub & empty it, or call the front desk if you're unsure about how to manage it. -- The water cooler in the gym was dry during our visit, but bottled water was provided as a substitute. This was nice to know about when we went out for a trail run at the Big Thicket and could grab a couple of bottles on our way out the door. -- Speaking of the small gym, there are 2 treadmills (with basic TV channels on an attached screen), an elliptical, a stair-stepper, and a cross-training/weights system. Towels and water are provided. Everything was clean for me and I enjoyed having the space to myself for most of my workout on Friday around 4:30p. read more

I stay in a lot of Marriott's and this one caught me off guard. The hallway stinks and so does my room. I stayed on the first floor and it smells like mildew. Firstly, I never provided a Yelpreview for anything, but this Courtyard was such a disappointment, that I wanted to provided a warning for other travelers. I have been a loyal Marriott patron and I have let issues in other places slide, but I feel I need to say something publications;;y about this property. I know saying anything to the property staff will fall on deaf ears. So hear we go: 1. The stench of the hallway coming off the elevator was so uninviting. 2. The hallway carpet was FILTHY 3. The hallway wallpaper had stains everywhere 4. The room did not smell much better than the hallway 5. A goodly portion of the electrical plugs in the room did not work. In the age of portable devices, the plugs are needed to recharge batteries. 6. The mirror between the two beds and other surfaces in the Rome looked like no one had not been cleaned in months. Very dusty. 7. Plug top the bathroom sink was disassembled. The plug was loose in the sink 8. The handle to the shower was hanging on by a thread. 9. There appeared to be mold on the walls in the shower. I can not confirm this, but the little black dots on the walls and ceiling lead me to this assumption. I have higher expectations for a Courtyard. I have stayed in other Courtyard properties and have never seen this level of uncleanliness and disrepair. I did notice that the property is managed by a third party and not directly by Marriott. My assumption only,no proof, is that the management property does the bare minimum to the property in order to maximize their profits. I t would be nice for Marriott staff to make a surprise inspection. I have no idea how this place ever got three starts. I wold give negative starts if possible. read more

Sad that this property has Marriott on the door & booked thru bonvoy app. Nice people but the building is a Motel 6. Smells like cheap disinfectant, but din't know what is getting cleaned. Every surface had mild, mildew on it. Elevator was scary. Ceiling had mild & was flaking. No ice machines working, pool closed, you name it. Needs to be knocked down & rebuilt, or just sell it to Super 8 & don't make me think I'm staying in a Marriott property. read more

Staying for one night on points while traveling through. The staff is extremely nice. That's the positive. The facility has been "updated," but not maintained. The whole place smells musty. Really musty. There's a noisy dehumidifier in my room, so we'll see if that helps. The door to my balcony is off the tracks and the lock is broken. Afraid to try to go out there because I might not get back in. Ice machine on my floor doesn't work. Bathroom has terrible lighting and there's mold in the shower. Gross. Oh well. Stopped in to stay for one night during our road trip back home. This was a big mistake. Customer service was good, the front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. However the room was absolutely horrible. From the time we got to the second floor we could already smell a mildew smell in the hallway. We could see crumbs and stains on the carpet. Clearly needs a good vacuuming and shampooing. Walking into the room the smell was a horrid mildew smell. Walls had stains and the rolling chair had what looked like hot Cheeto residue on it. I could see mold on the ceiling in the shower as well. But it was so late and we were so tired at that point we decided to stick it out. This hotel needs a good update and deep cleaning everywhere. Also beware, they tried to charge me for Starbucks coffees that I didn't order. I have a funny feeling the front desk clerk is the one who ordered them because of her suspicious demeanor and response, I may be wrong. But be aware and ask for a print out receipt always! Great experience on a quick trip to visit family. We snagged an affordable rate through Hotwire.com. Every person we encountered at the front desk was friendly and professional. They have an on site restaurant that also serves drinks, with a variety of seating options. From cozy booths, to standard tables, to y'all group tables...they had it all. Several business travelers were there working and enjoying a drink or two. They have an indoor pool and hot-tub, which looked well maintained. The rooms had a mini fridge and a microwave, which was perfect for us. Plus, two complimentary bottles of water which are always great when traveling. Rooms are modern and seem to be recently updated. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area! read more

Not a bad place. Stayed overnight with my mother in a room with queen beds. Her only complaint is the beds are rather high as she's only 5'1 and has to climb up into them. Comfortable bathroom with a separate area for the shower and toilet from the sink. rooms are clean and spacious. read more

This hotel is a scam. I put in a reservation for April 20 of this year. However, I noticed on March 21st that my card was charged. I don't book pre-paid reservations because sometimes things come up and I can always cancel. I contacted Marriot and told them of the situation and they agreed that I had not booked with a pre-paid reservation. They told me they would get in contact with the hotel at which time I told them I had tried that and NOT A SOUL WOULD ANSWER THE PHONE! I told them ok and I would follow up with them. Fast forward to last week, I called the Marriot line again and someone told me that they had gotten in contact with the hotel (strange because I had been calling the hotel for a week with NO ANSWER) and a refund was put in motion on March 22nd and it would take 3 to 5 business days. I said ok thanked them and hung up. March 29th, I called back because I had not received the refund and Marriot still telling me that a refund was given and it would take 3 to 5 business days. I told them the 3 to 5 business days had passed and we on day 6. This is when I found out that my case ticket with Marriot had been closed. I told then why because it had not been resolved so another ticket was opened. Being the person that I am, I called back the next day and the person on the phone said they could not do anything because they were working on it for me to call my bank. I said,"mamn, you can put in your notes that I will call everyday until I get my money back because this hotel is a fraud. Here we are Monday morning, April 1st and I called my bank. I told them I tried to resolve it with Marriot but apparently they work at their pace. My bank tells me that my card was present and it was swiped and a PIN was used. I said mamn, that's not possible. Then my bank says, well yes because you were using your card the same time this was supposed to occur. Finally, someone believes me. I called Marriot back and tell them what my bank found and they proceed to tell me, "well we still working on it" WHAT!? I said sir, it has taken yall 7 days to figure something out and my bank found it in 5 mins. Please do not stay here. They will take your money. Needless to say, I have canceled the reservation for April 20 and I don't usually do reviews but if it can help someone else I will put it. read more

I'm a business traveler who relies heavily on review sites such as Yelp to give me honest photos and reviews of businesses I'm considering patronizing. That said, what I look for in a hotel for a business trip may not be the same as what others prioritize or prefer for casual stays or vacations. This was my first time staying at this property and I used previous Yelp reviews to help me choose between this hotel and another local chain hotel of which I'm also a rewards member. The Courtyard Marriott is located adjacent to the highway - making it fairly easy to find. Because of its proximity to the highway, you may hear some traffic noise from the guest rooms but I didn't find it to be excessive or disruptive in my room (granted I was staying in a room not facing the highway). The property is located mid-Beaumont and near several restaurants so while it is a convenient location and the area seemed safe enough, the area is not walkable or suitable for an outdoor run. I stayed in a standard room with two queen beds. My room was slightly larger than I expected for this level Marriott. No major complaints about the amenities though my bathroom lighting was somewhat dark due to the placement of the door and no light fixture near the shower - this might be a concern for some. WiFi was "free" with my rewards membership. I didn't dine on property but the dining area/lobby/bar was frequently crowded. The lobby has definitely been updated and was comfortable. The property has an indoor pool and a fitness center, though I found the fitness center to have limited equipment. All in all, I will likely try the property again on another visit. read more

The staff was very friendly and helpful but this is where the positives end. Property was not clean, very outdated, and in a state of complete disrepair. The Courtyard Beaumont is conveniently located close to the I-10 with lots of restaurants close-by. We ordered delivery with ease and it was only a $4.99 delivery fee. The restaurant had it there to us in 30 minutes. The accommodations were nice and modern. The bed was a bit more firm than I prefer but I was tired from traveling so I still slept. The business center was accessible and easy to use. The elevator is older and slow but functions fine. I would definitely stay here again. read more

The room was very nice. It was updated from the old Marriott standards- everything was clean. I had the best Cobb Salad from the Bistro that I've ever had. The staff were very friendly. My loyalty as a Lifetime premiere elite member was acknowledged which I appreciate. Sometimes no one says a word and brand loyalty should be acknowledged. If you travel with someone with sensory issues- this hotel is not for you though. The fan comes on with the bathroom light- you cannot separate them. The air-conditioner is also very noisy as it's like the old-time add in air-conditioners and not like central air. Otherwise, the room was quiet- but I know learners with sensory issues will have a difficult time with the fan and air-conditioner noise. read more

The staff was friendly. However, I spend more time in hotels then I do at home. That being said I picked the Courtyard because the brand comes with a certain level of quality and expectation. This hotel was in very bad condition. I have small children and there is graffiti on the inside of the elevator door that is inappropriate for anyone to see let alone children. The rooms were clean enough but it was clear that the hotel has not been updated in quite sometime. It definitely was below the level of quality that is expected when booking a Courtyard. I received an email from Marriott asking to review the hotel to which I gave basically the same review I'm giving here. A couple of weeks later I get an email from the General Manager of the hotel. We have stayed at this location before and it was fine but this time not so much. I found two fleas in the bathroom one morning. Then, the pool light was broken and there was dirt, glass and what appeared to be moss on the bottom of the pool floor. And, all of our clothes smelled like mildew. Also, one 8 oz. glass of wine was $13! The only positive was that we were able to get adjoining rooms on the day of check in. It's one of the few hotels in Beaumont with an indoor pool which is a bonus for my family. We will choose to not stay here again. read more

Despite what the web page says, this hotel is a far cry from renovated. Dirty carpets, lack of personal products in the rooms, closed restaurant/bar area. In addition, my hotel window on an upper floor opened completely to allow anybody to fall or jump. The desk clerk was rude and seemed annoyed that we actually wanted to check into her hotel. This is not a feeble attempt at getting more Firsts! I actually stayed at this hotel for a majority of 1998/99! It was my first client gig on my first job and they told me it was in Houston. Sweet, I've never been to Houston! Then I get the directions: fly to IAH, take the 59S to the 10E. Drive 75 miles to Beaumont. 75 MILES! Houston my ass! It was late at night and there were literally no lights around. Then, in the distance, I see this beacon of light. There was nothing obstructing my view so I knew it was 15-20 miles away. It was the Courtyard Marriott. It took me several weeks to get used to the situation, but I was on this project for a year. I spend 10 days here then flew home to the Bay Area for 4 days. I did this for nearly 9 months. There is squat to do out there but smoke, race people with tricked out trucks, and work. the hotel staff got to know me well so they treated me well and I tipped well. That was the only way it became bearable. The food was actually decent in the hotel, otherwise I would have been eating BBQ and boudin like there was no tomorrow. I remember watching Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa in their juiced HR chase in this hotel. I remember experiencing my first hurricane in about 14 years in this hotel. Not the fondest of memories, but the services of the hotel made it bearable. read more

We stayed here for one night. The night clerk was nice at giving us a good rate by the time we went through them all, AAA, AMAC, AARP. Some people complained of a smell like mildew. My husband said he smelled chemicals but I found the place pleasant and our room was clean and updated. Bed was very comfortable and the room air quiet compared to most. Bathroom was huge and modern. We stayed one night here as a stop on our way home from a road trip. At first glance, the hotel is clean and seems newly remodeled. However, we were given our room key and went up to our room. Upon stepping out of the elevator we smelled mold and mildew very strongly. It did not subside when we went into our room, either. The mold smell was really bad, and made my allergies and asthma flare up. In fact, we could see the mold on the ceiling. Giving two stars because the room was clean, and the staff was very friendly, but wouldn't stay here again unless they fix their mold issue. read more

While I have stayed at nicer hotels in my travels...I have rarely come across a staff that was as proactive and accomadating as the staff of this hotel. The front desk staff in particular Whitney went above and beyond making me and my family feel at home. Thye greeted me and my wife by name and engaged in polite conversation everytime they saw us. She made the entire stay a joy. The hotel itself was well kept, rooms were neat and clean. The next time I am in Beaumont I will be staying there again! Staff is amazing. However, this is not a Marriot quality hotel. Bathroom is dated and the internet is miserable to the point of being non-existent. I spoke with front desk a few times as I needed it to send work reports and was told they would 'make a call'. However, after reading reviews here after the fact, it has been a problem for quite sometime and they should of said that upfront. If you need internet for work...DO NOT stay here. Other than that it is an average hotel with nothing of the Marriot quality. read more

Stayed here 1 night because we booked online. Immediately we were hit with a moldy smell as soon as we walked in. It permeates in the room as well. Slept with the window open all night. They have glade plug ins to try and mask the smell. Nasty.. read more
