1. No microwave in room, one in the entire hotel 2. No coffee in room 3. Toilet is too low for us old folks 4. Room is 2/3 the size of average hotel rooms 5. No closet in room 6. Refrigerator has no freezer function 7. No ice bucket in room, have to pick it up at the only ice machine in the hotel on the first floor 8. One desk chair in room, no others 9. Faucet barely reaches sink, when washing hands the water goes everywhere We tried out this hotel because of the 9/10 ranking that it received on Yelp. Far higher than the other hotels in the area. The ranking is a mystery to me. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years in my job, and that ranking is ridiculous at best and suspect at worst. There were two pluses that I can honestly point out: The modern hip colors in blue , grey and red, if you like their minimalist decor and the coffee that is only in the eating area is very good. I'm familiar with the brand, so I know the rooms are compact, the breakfast slim pickings. But this Avid has other issues. On the Pro side the beds were comfy, the shower good pressure, room darkeners effective. On the con noisy all night long. Breakfast area poorly attended. Towels scratchy. Staff sullen. Horrible area to get too--especially w the construction and if you're heading east. Don't do it. read more

I needed a place to stay so I could tour apartments. This is a nice place to stay for a short visit. My room was nice. The bed is comfortable. They have a complimentary breakfast and it's close to restaurants. I didn't get out since there was a torrential downpour the night I checked in. I would recommend staying here if you're looking for a comfortable place to sleep. read more

This wasn't a first choice, but everything else nearby was booked. So straight up. The rooms are small, even for a budget hotel. This is definitely more of a place to get rest for the night than lounge around. There's not really anywhere to lounge in your room anyway except in the bed and in this weird little cutout seat. The mattress is average, not poofy or cloud-like. Really, the accommodations are fine if you are driving through Beaumont or just need a place to sleep. The bathroom towel rack half fell while I was putting a towel on it. Shower was fine and water pressure was great. The shampoo dispenser was just about out of product. On the upside, there was plenty of parking, and the included continental breakfast in the lounge included yogurt, muffins, and even three kinds of Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches. Plus they had Nutella for the bagels...yum. The seat cushion could use some stain removal though. I don't recommend fabric for that reason. read more

New hotel, part of the IHG group so I thought I'd check it out! Covid precautions are taken place with wipe downs as it's obvious. Front desk every time I walked by did not have mask on but there is plexi glass. Check in was very easy. Was greeted with a welcome feeling. Ashlyn explained where everything was - ice and microwaves on first floor, what time breakfast was, and check out. The room it self was really nice,simple, minimalist. Bedding was very comfortable. Shower head adjust to your flow liking, very warm to my liking. Faucet sinks are misplaced a and very easy to have water all over countertop. Temperature in room was awesome, was able to sleep with it being cold. Roll down blackout curtain was perfect. And the SOUNDPROOF walls topped it off! Breakfast was really impressive. Warm options with breakfast sandwiches - bacon, ham, and sausage! Plenty cereal options. Breakfast bars. Oatmeal. Bagels. No complaints. If you want later check out just ask front desk and they will see what am be accommodated. Parking is plenty and very well lit! Next time in town, I'll be back here! read more

We stayed here on our way back from our vacation to rest. I booked through a third party company after looking at the photos and reading the online reviews. I was happy to see the rooms didn't have carpet, which is what I prefer due to carpet being so disgusting. We got there about 30 minutes before checkin but we were accommodated by them allowing us to go ahead and check in. I'd like to mention I was impressed by the gentleman mopping the common area of the lobby when we walked in. It smelled clean and looked the part as well. He was very friendly. Once we got to our room, the tv was on with a welcome message with our name on it. I immediately noticed the shower floor being filthy. The white comforter on one of the beds looked unclean or it could've been stained. Not sure but it disgusted me. I stripped the bed of the sheets and noticed the bed cover had a dried blood stain on it. Ewwww! I understand the housekeepers are just that and they're not out to deep clean as they would at their homes BUT it's common sense to remove a blood soiled bed cover. The housekeeping department can definitely do a better job and they have a PLENTY of room for improvement. The bed was comfortable and due to the room being so small, it stayed cool. I ended up sleeping past the time I intended to because it was so dark in our room. Their shutters did an awesome job at keeping the sun out. I'm only giving 2 stars because of the issues stated above from the lack of effort from housekeeping. read more

I read the other few reviews on here and as unfortunate as their experiences were, my family and I had a pretty good experience here. You can tell this hotel is newly built. It has such a modern vibe. Everything is clean and new. We got to our room and although the room was very clean, it was extremely small. These rooms are definitely for just one person or a couple. Definitely not meant for kids or pets at all. I'm glad they are family and pet friendly but if you do have kids and pets, try to find another hotel. The floors also need to be mopped or something because they were dirtyyyyy. I'm sure they vacuume the floors but there needs to be more done especially since they're hard floors and it's during covid. I also love how they have nice hygiene products and not the cheap smelling ones. Shout out to D. Shaunice for a clean room! Check in and check out was fairly quick. The staff at the front DONT wear masks which makes me question if they're really taking precautions for covid. Friendly staff but they are constantly on their phones. Which I don't mind as much as long as customers don't need help. But I could see how it could bother others. Breakfast was fine; they provided a grab and go and seating was open. Overall, our experience was nice and I am glad we chose this hotel to stay at for our cross country road trip. read more

Fist time here - staff was pleasant. Room seems pretty clean but the floor feels a little grimey. The ac thermostat on wall doesn't seem to work in conjunction with the window unit. I really like how many hooks they have to hang your bags and clothing .. but for a room with 3 people - there's only a total of one chair in the room. Good thing I needed to sort some stuff out and wanted to lay down - but the other two roomies didn't... so no chair for one of them. Tiny mini fridge - didnt seem very cold. No adjustments - hope my stuff is still cold in the morning. No keurig/coffee maker/no microwave in room. But they did have free average coffee down stairs. Did not see any bugs of any kind. Overall clean hotel. Not smelly & sheets looked clean. Good price-would stay again. Update : the mini fridge wound up being ice cold! It was great overnight - and btw - we do not travel much (we are going to out of state wedding) ... our next town/hotel tonight ... is older and no where near as nice !! I'm thinking the Avid has one of my favorite features ....all those hooks to hang out bags!! Missing that tonight ! read more

Ms Ashley was the young lady that works at the front desk and she was so polite, nice, and helpful. My room was clean and they have dove products which I like. The room is a bit on the smaller side. It is right near places to eat. The hotel is a place a place I would visit again while traveling for work. They do have a gym, no pool, and coffee and tea available 24/7 in the lobby. read more

passing through town after a short stay out west. finished up early and decided to take some miles off and got this far before calling it a day. last-minute lodging can be a hit-or-miss but I found a shower and a bed here without much drama or difficulty, the price was a skosh high but not unreasonable given the time frame, a minor malfunction with the booking app, and my immediate need. the property is fairly new and clean; no debris in the lot or the grounds; the lobby and common areas were also well arranged and tidy so I'm pretty sure it was sanitized recently. check-in was polite, efficient, masky, and appropriately distanced; just what I've come to expect from IHG. Never stayed at an Avid before, wasn't sure what to expect but it fits my needs nicely. easy off / on the interstate; well lit parking; tidy common areas; clean beddings on a firm comfortable bed; quiet room; working facilities; morning snack options and coffee on demand. yea! no pool, no lounge, no problem. read more

What good is a confirmed reservation if there's no actual room for you when you get there? And, no cancellation notice. We didn't find out until we walked up to the desk. It was almost 9 PM and there weren't many options left in town. At least when you make a mistake, have the decency to try to make it right. read more

This place is a joke do not stay there besides the tiny rooms I checked in with my handicap sign that's in a wheelchair an app for a first-floor room the lady working the front desk checked us in and then an hour later let us know that's the manager he said that he can not check anybody into the room down on the first floor and that we would have to move I cannot get my handicap assignment down a flight of stairs if there is a fire so then they kept the charge on my credit card and to try and get the money back that we are allotted for our vacation no I haven't checked into another hotel and it'll be 4 or 5 days before the $475 they took off of card is put back now I am stuck in Beaumont Texas from Colorado until the money is reloaded paid it back on my card. So here's an update the manager tried calling me again today saying that it's the bank's responsibility to call him to get our money back when I disagreed with him he threatened me and asked me if I wanted to come up and meet with him face-to-face and discuss this insinuating he want me to fight him. This manager is a joke. He does not know how to refund people's money what the hell is he doing. read more
