The facilities feature the most up to date technology for both golfing and exercising. There are two on site restaurants. One is a bistro style eatery, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The best grits and bacon I have EVER had! The other restaurant, The Albatross, is a sexy, high end steak and seafood spot. I'd put the meals I've had there up against any famous big city dining establishment. The lodging for out of town guests may be one of my favorite amenities. The finishes, the decor, the comfort ... the luxury! There is nothing else like it in this area of Florida. Though I am not a golfer myself, I do know that the greens are immaculate enough to host an annual LPGA event. Should you be lucky enough to be invited by a member to visit The Pelican, it is an invitation you should accept!

The entire staff was great but the course wasn't worth $105. The tee boxes were rough and many of the greens were pitted and very slow. I was hoping that after all the tax dollars residents contributed to renovate the course, it would have been more playable. Disappointing for sure. It will be awhile before I play this course again. The atmosphere was wonderful and the layout of the course is fantastic. I wish more care was taken in maintaining the course.

The staff is accommodating, though not necessarily friendly. The driving area is pinched between the first and tenth fairways but is adequate. The track of the course is ok on the front, winding through condos and dumping you out on hole 9 with the first great view of the day. The back 9 is much more fun to play with water on almost every hole, 2 par fives and 4 par threes. The course consistently struggles to be in great shape with the greens patchy and sandy quite often. However, when the course is in good shape it is one of my favorite courses to play.

I…read morestopped in to have the shaft replaced on my Ping 400 driver that had snapped in half.. all I had was the head. Ernie had everything needed to have it done in 24hrs! He asked me what I had done to snap the shaft in 2 .. I said it was in my back swing .. he immediately knew my game .. too tight of grip and too much power coming from the wrong place .. he had me hit some balls in the simulator and adjusted 2 things and explained 2 things and in 3 swings I was straight down the middle .. I was blown away when I went to the range.. 30 balls and only 2 went right !! I have played a fade on good days and a banana ball most days for 25 years !! For the first time I was hitting a draw off the tee ! This place might not look like Gold but it is!!

A lot of the tee boxes are full of that golf course Florida sand and the 3rd green is just horrible. However, the majority of the track is immaculate! Love this course so much! They have a great GPS tracking system in the carts that tell you the distance the green-side bunkers and the entire green. We'll worth the $46 to play here. I added this course to my go-to list to play - such a great deal! You should play here if you need a course to play in the Largo area!

East Bay is an average course in mid-Pinellas county with an ok layout and a few challenging holes…read more Course conditions vary from season to season and hole to hole. The driving range is irons only and the putting green is a mess with bare spots and bumps everywhere. The guy in the pro shop isn't friendly but isn't rude either. The course could be decent but the conditions (as seen in a couple of my pictures) are very rough. Some greens are good (though slow) while others are atrocious. All told, if you want a friendly staff and decent course conditions, you would be better served to go to another local public course.

It has a well manicured 18 hole golf course, nine more holes (27 total) gym, two pools, tennis courts and all that. It also has a clubhouse which is the focus of my review. First off, this is the ugliest clubhouse I've ever entered. Think Little Rascals He Man Woman Hater's Club if you're that much into club houses. Ugly brown crown molding, ratty carpeting, ugly beige walls and exposed wood ceilings. The lobby looks like a mausoleum too. After the ceremony in a non cool room (idiots turned on the heat by mistake), we were sent into the reception area, which was the south room and adjoining spaces. At least they actually had on the AC in here. Open bar and passed canapés as one would expect. Some of these canapés including bacon wrapped scallops stand out because they were AWFUL!! I almost spit out the spinach pie; I should've known better when I saw them drizzled with heaven knows what. Scallops over cooked and lousy...at least there was an open bar. After two dark rum and colas, I even had enough of that; cheap lo-rent swill. Salad was simple mixed greens with a slice of cuke, some red onion and a couple of CHILLED cherry tomatoes. Well, there was the next sign that the kitchen doesn't know what it's doing. Tomatoes are supposed to be room temperature; period. Dressing stop said salad was nondescript. For entrees the Queen Bee had crab stuffed grouper and I had filet mignon. Filet was bland but had a halfway decent demiglaze with it. Queen Bee didn't care for her grouper. Everyone else at the table seemed more or less okay with it. To be fair, I didn't try the stuff. Both entrees were accompanied by overcooked asparagus and bland rice pilaf. Blech! I'm sure the wedding party paid good money for this stuff. If this is any sign of how their dining rooms are, then kindly include me OUT of this club. I'd rather graze on the grass from the 10th fairway. The desserts you see are provided by an outside bakery so nothing to say here. Not really much worthwhile or positive to say about having a function here, either. Have it at Chuck E. Cheese or a bowling alley instead! Eh!!
