I walked into Bay Golf Exchange fully prepared to confirm my long-standing belief that golf is the…read moreabsolute worst. For context: I hate mini-golf. Hate. Five lifetime attempts, five exits thinking, "If this is golf, burn it all down." Topgolf? Even better--nothing like slamming a club into the ground, rattling your entire skeleton, and wondering if you're about to yeet yourself off a balcony mid-swing. Hard pass. I'm a motorcycle-riding, scuba-diving, ripped-jeans, tattooed "this seems like a bad idea, let's do it anyway" kind of person. Plaid pants and polite clapping? Could not be me. Golf people? I had my doubts. But I made a deal with a friend: they'd ride motorcycles with me if I tried golf with them. They're now on a bike. So here I am, betraying my entire personality. Enter Matt. Before I even showed up, his messages were funny, patient, and--annoyingly--welcoming. So I went in, fully expecting to hate every second of it. Three hours later... I'm out here questioning my life choices. This man didn't just sell me clubs. He basically performed an intervention. He taught me how to hold a club (turns out I was doing... whatever chaos that was before), explained why Topgolf wrecked my shoulder, and somehow made sense of why mini-golf made me irrationally angry. Then he had me swing different clubs until we found ones that actually felt right--which, again, was new information to me. And just when I thought we were done, he starts adjusting everything. Cutting clubs down. Fixing my stance. Watching me swing. Adjusting again. Demonstrating. Repeating. Encouraging. Over and over until I went from "this is stupid" to "wait... I want to try that again." And here's the thing that stuck with me--his passion is clearly not in retail. After all, he asked me what my budget was in the beginning and stayed right in my paltry budget. His passion is in getting people to feel this sport. You can tell he genuinely wants you to catch whatever this is so you'll just... go. play. Not buy more stuff. Not overthink it. Just go be out there hitting a ball around and somehow enjoying it. I left with clubs that actually fit me, a swing that doesn't feel like I'm dislocating something, a bag, balls, tees and--this is the worst part--I'm excited to go back. It's taken me way too long to write this review because I've been busy turning into the exact person I used to make fun of. If you need me, I'll be at the driving range, voluntarily, like some kind of addict. Matt is the real deal. If you think you hate golf, if you just need a good person to explain it all- who won't make you feel like you don't belong, congratulations (!) you're exactly the person who should go see him. I'll never buy golf equipment from anyone else.

I had needed a set of golf clubs but didn't want to pay the price of the name brand or sporting goods stores. A friend recommended Ken's Golf and I am so glad they did. I bought a great set of clubs that were almost identical to the Callaways I had seen online. Ken made sure the sizing was correct and even recommended specific grips that more properly fit my hands. He told me he could put the new grips on in a couple of days, which he did after I purchased the clubs. Ken has a practice area right in the store where I could swing my new clubs and get a feel for how great they would be on the course. I also ended up purchasing a gently used golf bag and pull cart for a fraction of the price of what they were new. I'm looking forward to using all of my new golf equipment and taking some strokes off of my game. Thanks Ken ! - so glad I found your shop.

The kids had a great time playing Topgolf…read more My kids can't golf at all. They are five and eight however my older son went to topgolf for a field trip during camp and he asked to go back. I booked on the website and saw that there's different rates for different days and different times. Morning is the cheapest and obviously certain weekdays plus randomly Sunday are cheaper as well. I think it's worth looking before you go since the price is variable. Also, when you book online, it's more expensive to reserve a top bay on the third floor versus the second versus the ground floor. I chose any available bay, which I think is the best decision because we ended up on the third floor. Obviously we would've had to be OK with if we had gotten the bottom floor, which we were. This Topgolf seems to be a less popular than the one in Brandon. I looked up the one in Brandon and there was no availability for when we wanted to go, versus there was a ton of availability at this location. There is less to do around this location, but if you're going just for topgolf, then that doesn't really matter. The parking lot is big and easy to find a spot. They have kids clubs, which is nice, because when they saw we had kids coming they had the clubs already available at our bay. We got the kids chicken tenders with tater tots and lemonade. The kids enjoyed eating it. My husband got wings, but expected them to be spicy and they were not. I do think knowing at least a basic swing is helpful, I don't have one, but my kids were even worse. Next time I think taking them to a driving range first would be easier. However, they still had a pretty good time because there's tons of games that you can play that even the playing field. I booked for an hour which was the perfect amount of time for us. If we were four adults though, I think we could go for two hours. I definitely think this is a great place to spend a couple hours. I would highly recommend.

Check rates before you go. Pros: - cool inside - different game options - cool tech tracking balls near goals - people from kids to the elderly were able to get good scores depending on the game parameters - clubs for lefties - extensive food menu - alcoholic drinks available - service was good - plenty of parking - space indoors to watch sports/hangout/nice bathrooms - you pay for time and it's easy to add on small amount of time as desired Cons - you have to pay a small fee to register. Allegedly a one time fee, but it seems like an upfront cash grab knowing most people are coming for one-time events - servers come around frequently to a point you feel more compelled to order food. If you don't want more food, stand your ground but it's almost too convenient to get one more drink - The scores should be more points if you hit them from further out. Seems like a flat / any score near any flag is the same - games aren't necessarily clear if you've never played before Overall, great for groups, everyone was energetic, even if you aren't good at golf, you can get some points and try out a few clubs. If you want a more traditional golfing experience or to improve your skills, there are other places for that, but this was a good family outing.

Something about giving a second life to a preloved item just feels so right. Play It Again Sports is a Mecca of preloved sporting gear/toys. My most cherished possession from Play It Again is my rollerblades. I use these blades almost daily. I like to think at some point they belonged to a 10 year old boy named Tommy. I'm really hopeful that Tommy got some fun mems with them, and even more than that I am grateful that Tommy's mom relinquished them to Play It Again at some point. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I like to call the store to inquire whether they have what I'm looking for and they are always so diligent and communicate so clearly and in great detail what it is they have that might meet my request. They are keen to sports, meaning they actually have a lot of knowledge that would be helpful if you have questions about gear specifics. The best part of shopping second hand (unless you're like me and genuinely believe in the sustainability factor) is obviously the deal. The prices cannot be beat..seriously. The blades I previously mentioned would have cost at least $45.00 from a box store or Amazon AND I would have had to wait up to a week to get them, because believe it or not rollerblades are not kept on shelves regularly. At Play It Again I spent $25 for 2 pairs of rollerblades, 1 kids size (Tommy's) and 1 regular adult women's size (I believe they probably belonged to a Meredith). Both blades got some serious sanitization and the bearings got a little cleaning and some lubricant, after that they were ready to roll. I cannot recommend this store enough.
