I didn't find any plants…read morethat were especially trendy - and the couple that I did find were so absurdly overpriced (and not the best quality) that I wouldn't purchase from here anyway. On top of that, I had to swat fungus gnats away multiple times, and I saw a number of plants that looked like they had browning or rotting leaves. I love to support local, but I couldn't buy anything from here and feel good about it. I had been so excited to visit this shop and spend on some fabulous additions to my plant collection, but was so disheartened with what was available and just ended up leaving without purchasing anything. Ugh. I'm giving this shop 2 stars instead of just 1 because I did ask the employee there a couple questions and she was generally helpful.

I went during their Fall Festival/ Clayscapes Pottery Market and both events were run well and laid out wonderfully. One side of the garden center hosted the Fall Festival, which had lots of family friendly activities, a Birds of Prey demonstration, and cute photo ops for kids (and adults). The other side had rows and rows of talented artists with their works of art on display. I thought the greenhouse was a lovely setting for this beautiful market.

I asked my sister and another sister in law if they would like to go and they said yes. When we got there it was interesting and creative to me yet I needed help to put something together that I had in mind for an indoor basket with some purple flowers that I was told she loved. Carol just didn't help me, she was patient and kind and very respectful. She helped me create exactly what I was envisioning even if I didn't know it at the time. I had to run to the garden center for something, and had the opposite experience. The staff member manning the entrance greeted me when I came in, and helped me find the item I was looking for. The aisles are a little wacky and he wasn't able to direct me perfectly, and I had to do some wandering and scrounging. Still, he was so nice and at least seemed willing to help, which is more service than I usually get in these kinds of big box home stores. I'm not super handy so I can't really weigh in on everything here, but the garden center was pretty nice.

We decided to replace our wood burning stove fireplace insert with a gas burning fireplace insert…read more We went to three different retailers and ended up buying from Heath & Home because they seemed the most knowledgeable and because a good friend purchased two gas burning inserts from H&H a few years ago and was very happy with the results. When we ordered the insert on September 13, the owner (Brian) told us that he had just purchased the store (he previously was a rep for Regency Stoves and had operated a smaller retail fireplace store in another location, where he had good reviews). Brian was very knowledge about all brands of inserts (not just the ones he currently sells) and was able to answer all of our questions. Installation was scheduled October 9. On October 8 H&H called us to say that they had received the wrong surround and trim (i.e. not the one we ordered) and offered the option of rescheduling the install (several weeks out) or installing the insert and then coming back to install the correct surround when they received it from the manufacturer. Since they said we could use the stove without the surround (it just isn't pretty). we decided to keep the original install date. The installers arrived on time and did a good job with the installation. Less than a week later H&H called and said they had the correct surround and would install it two days later. Again, they arrived when expected, installed the surround and trim piece and were on their way. The new H&H owner seems a little overwhelmed with taking over a larger business but he is very knowledgeable about the products and they followed through on all of the commitments they made to us. The gas fireplace insert is working well and is a delight!
