They were friendly enough and the cut was fine, but they failed to mentioned that they cut my dog in two different areas on his neck. When I called to find out what happened, the groomer said that he'd had a wart and it was cut. Well A) no he didn't. I think I'd know if he had since I pet him every day. And B) even if he did, they still should've told me that they cut him.

We were there first thing in the morning and treated professionally, respectfully and politely. Our first visit there the place was very clean and smelled wonderful. These dogs are not easy to groom and their recommendations as well as procedures were explained so there wasn't any confusion. Approximately 4 hour grooming. When we arrived to pick them up, both boys looked handsome and smelled amazing. They were just laying in safe location watching other dogs get the pampering they just received. Then there are doctors for whom your pet represents a bottom line - nothing more. I have just had my first miserable experience ever, with the latter type of vet. A vet so profoundly uncaring, and unprofessional - she stormed out of the exam room, even before doing an exam, because she found out that I wasn't interested in buying any medications. On October 31st, 2024, from the start of my Australian Shepherds health check-up, all 'Dr. Jill' wanted to talk about were medications.. 'Was my dog UTD on his shots?'.. Was I using Bravecto for ticks and fleas?.. (They promote Bravecto).. 'Was I using heartworm and other worm preventatives?' When I explained, (or tried to) that Australian Shepherds are sensitive to meds, and I had lost 2 Aussies to vaccines, (not to mention family members whose dogs contracted cancers, and/or epilepsy from Bravecto).. she didn't want to hear it. Her next words told the whole story - "SO WHAT DID YOU COME HERE FOR"? I was taken aback, and said simply - 'For an exam'. For 50 years I have raised and trained prize Australian Shepherds with natural foods and herbal medicines with excellent results, my healthy animals living out a long life. But the downside of routine good health is a lack of experience recognizing what might be illness! So, we have the occasional visit to a 'professional' for answers. It happened that in October, Fayetteville Vet Hospital recently sent us a reminder that it was 'time for Molly's checkup', So, I made the appointment for my male, who had been scratching a lot lately. Not 4 minutes into the 'exam' - it came to a crashing halt after a short conversation with the young inexperienced veterinarian. Dr. Jill, upon gathering my objection to meds - STORMED OUT OF THE EXAM ROOM -SLAMMING THE DOOR!... while I was yet talking to her... completely 'cur-tailing' the appointment. (no pun intended). No eye exam, no ear check, no heart listening to, no discussion of my dogs condition, (other than telling me he had worms, which information was already paid for by the fecal exam fee.) I walked in a daze to the desk, where the attendant chirped.. 'That will be JUST seventy five dollars today'. With an emphasis on 'just'.. He seemed surprised at the low cost of the 'exam'. (Later, it occurred to me- that was because my visit didn't include FVH's typical bill increases from drug prescriptions.) I went home shocked. It doesn't matter how anyone feels about Bravecto or the rest of the vet prescription drugs; Or that my own experience with them has been a disaster (Caleb and Marshall, the dogs in the photos were both killed by vet prescribed meds) Or that there is an entire social media site called 'Does Bravecto Kill dogs'.. The point is that a pet owner should have the right to determine what they wish to give to their pet, without the doctor going ballistic and kicking them out of the clinic. IN FACT, within 48 hours of that appointment, I received a letter from Dr. Bunnell, the owner of FVH (Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital) - EVICTING ME from their customer base.. based on nothing more than my refusal to buy medications at the appointment 2 days before. At that point I had yet to write to him (I did after that), and had yet to voice a complaint.. But, after receiving the very cold eviction letter - I did write to the owner, but never got a reply. So I called him and tried to explain my concerns about medications,.. he cut me off and told me that "I' WASN'T listening." No.. Dr. Brunell. It is you and doctors like you that are not listening. Some of us are sick and tired of seeing our loved ones, both 4 and 2 legged, get sick, and even die, because of prescription medicines. The best veterinarians I have known, have been naturopathic. THEY LISTEN to their patients.. And their bottom line is FINE. They wind up with customers traveling great distances for the possibility of finally finding a vet that will HEAR their concerns. Dr. Brunell refused to refund me for the 'exam' that wasn't. Again, showing what they care about.. And it isn't your pet.

Some of the associates are really stellar. I've noticed as a whole that this chain prefers hiring charismatic individuals. Animal habitats have always been clean. My initial experience with Petco was good; We bought a parrot (Green cheek conure, the one you see in one of my my profile pics) at this store The lady in charge of the small pets area at that time (Peggy) was very knowledgeable, polite and helpful; we initially spoke with her first, then went home to think about it and returned to buy the parrot. We returned the next day (Sunday), Peggy wasn't there so we were assisted by a less knowledgeable employee (he gave us the wrong supplies for the bird, didn't know what food we should buy etc.) who fortunately is no longer there, and Peggy was later replaced with another less knowledgeable employee. We were buying the bird with a gift-card. At the register my daughter was so excited, with the bird / bird carrier in her arms looking forward to bringing the bird home. Unfortunately, one of PetCo's servers went down- the one the processes gift cards. The cashier could not process the gift card. The "manager" came over and explained that we could not purchase the bird until their issue was resolved; so I said "You're not going to take that bird away from her, because of YOUR issue, are you?" Well, they did- I'd been shopping there for years but they couldn't make any arrangement for me when THEIR system was down! It was easier for them to make a kid cry instead. I happened to know that any customer oriented organization should never be reliant on a single server. One other day, shortly after I took a photo like most good Yelpers do, the small pets manager comes up to me and demanded that I delete the photos taken, in her presence, or that I would be arrested by the police. She claimed it was against PetCo policy and they used the police to enforce it - for those of you that know anything about the police their job is not to enforce private company policies, thats a civil matter, so dont ever be intimidated when someone threatens you with the police for something like this. I cannot give the place one star because the fact of the matter is they have many decent staff member & no one has better prices on pet food than PetCo; so now that is all I use them for- you get a much better deal if you buy online + select in-store pick-up. It may have a few faults that I…read morehave noticed, certain days have too many dogs in my opinion and shpuld be limited, but overall so far I have had a good experience. I really appreciated the openness they have about the facilities, they have scheduled interviews with new dogs and owners where the walk the grounds with you. This is very different than my previous daycare where I was not allowed in the back areas. The workers there absolutely adore the dogs, and my dog adores them too. There are some days where he sees me at pickup and turns around the other way to go back in. I do think this type of daycare, due to the amount of dogs, requires certain temperments. I could see some dogs getting overwhelmed/stressed. My dog's favorite activity is following other people/animals or getting them to chase him, so this environment works well for him. He still does get some times to rest however. Another thing that is great is that they have a live cam for both small dog area and the large dog area. That paired with the photos they post on social media i's helpful for me to ensure my dog still seems to be having a good time. He always has his tail up and looking happy so it seems good for me. The biggest gripe I have is that 80% of the time when he comes back he stinks really terribly.

You just need to be sure it is a good fit for your pup. Don't buy a package until you are sure
