Came here because I saw a fellow Yelper post about it and I was intrigued. Also because I heard that often the owners bring their dog into the shop....and I wasn't disappointed. When I stopped in, I got to meet and pet sweet Elsa, which was the highlight of my day. She's a very calm and friendly good girl. The shop is in North Syracuse on Main Street, near a bunch of other businesses. If you don't know where you're going, you can easily pass it by because the signage sneaks up on you. There's a little lot on the side. When you walk in, you immediately see a case stocked with fancy dog treats. There were some shaped like tacos and cannolis and other adorable things, and many were Easter-themed. I couldn't resist packing up a couple to bring to my family's dog for my Easter visit. The pooch's reaction is to be seen, but I'm sure she'll be stoked. I asked the owners if they made the biscuits in house, but learned their delivered in from a boutique doggie bakery. There's a wide variety of cat and dog supplies here, at various price points. I'm not the sort to splurge on pet food, but if you are there are a lot of organic options. However, there's also a pretty wide and interesting variety for such a small store, and as I mentioned, there's items that fit with various budgets. This is a cute spot, and I think it's nice to support local rather than always buy from the big box pet stores. I'd come back, and I'd certainly send any animal lover this way. read more

Super friendly staff and environment. brought my border collie with me and they gave me a good sized treat to give her, and she absolutely loved it. She's 7 and a picky eater. They had a big selection for really good prices. They were also very helpful. read more

First off I love this pet store because they carry a wide variety of healthy food and treats for pets. It is local and I love supporting our local businesses rather than giving my money to large chains. I buy all of my dog's treats from here because she is super picky and also they're really good for her. Ruth, is always super helpful and knowledgeable and if you're lucky you will get to meet their pitbull Elsa who is frequently in the store. She is a big dog so don't be intimidated, she is truly a sweetheart and very friendly. I'd definitely recommend checking them out if you have pets and want to treat them. read more

Dog daze is a great shop for anyone with dogs. They carry really high quality products and their staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Initially, I was buying canidae dog food from Amazon because I thought that was the cheapest, but in fact, Dog Daze carries it for a few dollars less. I try to be very understanding when it comes to dealing with people because you never know what might be happening in their life. With that said, I don't know what the problem is with one particular gentleman that works there. I have been shopping there for about a year, and either he lacks in the ability on how to nicely treat customers or he is unhappy doing what he is doing. The final straw that made me walk out the door was I had placed an order for some dog food that was to come in the following week. I called in the afternoon to check on the order and he said that the order did not come in and that the company had back orders, which I understand that does happen. BUT, he told me that he had two containers from the same company just a different protein source. I asked if there was any way that he could hold them for me that I would be in before closing to pick them up. He told me yes, believe me I was ever so grateful because this food is not easy to find and with me in the process of transitioning my pups to this food I did not want to mess up their systems with another brand of food. I was very thankful for him offering to set aside this food for me. A few hours later I drove all the way to the store to pick it up and when I got there he said the food was meant for another customer. I understand that mistakes can be made, but he had my phone number. I said why didn't you call me to let me know, his answer was that he was to busy ! There was not one customer in the store and there was also another person working with him. A 30 second phone call would have saved me my gas and time, it's called good customer service ! I have never been treated more rudely, I said I will bring my business elsewhere and walked out the door. You have lost a customer, I will never come back, I will purchase my pet food at another store across town who is always so much more friendlier and accommodating. read more

Dog Daze only carries high quality pet foods. What a blessing this store is to me. Before going to Dog Daze I had to run all over the place to different stores in search of food that fed the animal not a financial portfolio and found nothing but pet food with garbage ingredients in it. Finally a place where everything in the store is good food for the animal, and it is not cost prohibitive. They carry high quality pet food at low costs and you get the feeling that they really appreciate your business and don't take you for granted, they are welcoming, and they care about your pet, too! read more
