I've heard that the highlighter-yellow Country Kitchen Food Truck is affiliated with Fair Weather Growers. I don't know if that's true, but it parks nearby the Market. In any event, after hearing somebody praise CK's hot dogs, I figured maybe I've been missing out. I saw enough on Visit 1, that I plan to explore more of the menu. I live about 5 minutes away, and drove to CK on a rainy work-from-home day. They have three covered picnic tables, and many people made quick stops for takeout lunch while I was there. It's clearly a very popular truck.I was helped by a woman with lots of personality, who seems like she's probably a regular there. She's definitely part of the charm for me. I ordered an Italian Sausage sandwich and onion rings. I'll start with the rings, because they were perfectly executed. Stylistically, the rings were thick and well battered. They were fried to a perfect, crispy, golden brown. This isn't my favorite onion ring style, but I can't remember a better version for this style recently. The Italian Sausage was served on a large hamburger bun. The long sausages were split lengthwise, and the sandwich was stuffed full of it. The sausage itself was pretty good. A bit too salty and dense, and cooked a bit longer than I would have liked. The toppings were very good though. The onions and peppers were well grilled and tasted great. The provolone was high quality and melted to a stretchy mess. In the best way. It was served with a bit of marinara. The marinara didn't pop flavor-wise, but like The Dude's rug, it really tied the room together. IYKYK. This sandwich was good in a sum of all parts sense. I'll definitely be back. I noticed that they serve Hummel dogs, which will please the New Haven area people. They have Georgia Red Hots. Their truck boasts about their burgers and cheesesteaks. I found this food truck randomly and they did not disappoint! I'm not from the area but who doesn't love a good food truck. First, the service was amazing. The man was extremely nice after I ordered he checked in on me to see if I liked the food and if I needed any extra napkin. Second, the food was great! I got French fries which were classic crinkle cut and very good not salty but salt available if you wanted to add which I think is awesome. I got the fire dog which was sooooo good! Good quality hotdog smothered is deliciousness wrapped up in a toasted bun!!! Last, there was seating that's cover which was great on a nice breezy day. 10/10 recommend for a American style lunch the breakfast menu looked good aswell. read more

One of our go-to breakfast food trucks. Delicious egg sandwiches. I've probably had 25 of them so far. Crispy generous bacon, melty American cheese, fried egg and on a, "hard roll." However you can probably add to that and get it on different bread. I tried a sausage melt with a fried egg on rye today and that was greasy and delightful. We also got hashbrowns which are similar to McDonalds but a little more dense. I recommend calling ahead so your food is ready when you show up. The wait time if you order at the truck is very reasonable, but who wants to wait if you don't have to. They do not have ice coffee. They do have a small picnic table area next to the truck if you need it. read more

This food truck is perfect for my once in a while lunches while we slowly return to the office. Georgia Long Hots (hot dogs - all the way), Ruebens, chicken sandwiches... this place rocks. I even got some co-workers hooked on it. Breakfast great here too. The burrito breakfast is heavenly. The coffee is ok. Not a fan of the hamburgers... they are uninteresting and unappetizing to me. I don't like the french fries either. They remind me of the 'Ore-Ida' brand you get at the frozen section at Costco. Get their home fries instead. They are very good! Service is great. Very polite and friendly. They always have a nice variety of specials that keep on changing. Check them out. I will keep coming whenever I can, and keep bringing my friends too. read more

Oh man, five solid stars for this place based on the "Georgia Red Hots" alone. Split-grilled spicy wieners in proper New England buns with mustard, relish, and onions - among the finest dogs I've had in CT, and that is saying something. Hopefully the rest of their menu meets the same standard - I've no doubt that I'll be back to see. Other reviews are promising. I stopped in for the first time the other day and I just wanted a simple breakfast sandwich. . The owners/staff was super friendly and the food was great! I can't wait to go back and try other things since they have a huge menu!!! They have a few picnic tables in back but it was cold out so I took my sandwich to work. Love it here!. As the mild days of autumn wind down, the opportunity to seek out local food trucks for a quick, satisfying bite dwindles with the daylight hours. Fortunately, there are a few such trucks that operate year round. One of them is a little hidden gem on Route 3 (The Shunpike) in Rocky Hill. The Country Kitchen mobile food truck has been serving up cheap, good eats in the same location since 1988. The motto here seems to be "simple, affordable, good." From hearty breakfast sandwiches to the traditional quick lunch of burgers, hot dogs or assorted sandwiches, the Country Kitchen can satisfy just about any request. One of the highlights on the list of breakfast sandwiches is the truck's use of real Italian sausage in its egg and cheese sandwiches. If you've ever had "real" Italian sausage for breakfast then you know how much better it tastes than the run-of-the-mill breakfast style. Other interesting sandwich options for breakfast include eggs and cheese with pastrami, corned beef hash or steak. These sandwiches are also available as wraps. During lunch, 10 inch Hummel hot dogs are served on a perfectly toasted roll with a slighty spicy meat sauce that makes them one of the better chili dogs around. No beans in this sauce!! You can have it either steamed or grilled, which is an option not all trucks offer. Optional toppings also include cheese, bacon and roasted peppers and onions. The above mentioned Italian sausage also can be ordered in sub form for lunch. Served with an ample dose of roasted peppers and onions it is one of the most outstanding quick grab subs around. Very hearty and tasty, it is a meal in itself. No sides need apply here. But if you're in the mood for sides there are french fries, onion rings, and assorted salads (potato, macaroni and coleslaw) to complement any meal. Extra mention has to be given to the fries because they are crinkle cut style, always a plus. The Kitchen has daily board specials which feature assorted sandwiches served with one side that are a good value in the $6-$7 range. The menu is a quick read with many options but you'll have to go to Rocky Hill to see it. There is no website but the Country Kitchen truck is open Monday-Friday from 6AM-3PM. They are closed on weekends. The actual address is 1138 Cromwell Ave. in Rocky Hill but just look for the big silver truck on Route 3 right before the traffic light near Brook Street. We ordered a delivery from this place on ubereats and we were quite disappointed. We ordered 2 burgers and wings and only got one burger delivered, with a patty that was completely charred on the outside and raw on the inside. Soggy fries and bun too. Hoping this was just a onetime mishap but if not, the people leaving this place good ratings must either be drunk or have really low standards. read more

If you are ever on I-91 in the center of the state and hungry for breakfast you should make a quick stop off of Exit 23 (Dinosaur State Park exit) and try this place out. Right off the exit on the main strip (Cromwell Ave) is Dunkin Donuts. You could get a preservative laden Big and Grossty here or drive a half a mile further south and stop at the big silver food truck on the left. This place has REAL breakfast cooked on the grill right when you place your order. I am a fan of the simple bacon egg and cheese on a hard roll. Fresh eggs, lots of bacon and a fresh roll; it is hard to beat. Plus you can get a regular size cup of coffee for $1.00. They also have a lot of other breakfast sandwiches and wraps along with a good selection of other breakfast items. read more
