I looked at the checkout counter and looked around at the other one and not a one to be found. As you know, gossip does more harm than good and most of the time it is not factual only sensational, grabbing the attention of those that fall for that sort of baloney. I complimented the cashier on this and she grinned and knew exactly what I was talking about. I expressed my thanks and said that I would let others know what a great grocery store this was. The Our Family brand of products are very high quality and reasonably priced. It is wonderful to know we can shop for groceries at such a great supermarket while vacationing in Lewiston. On this most recent trip I discovered the Our Family brand "Breakfast Blend "coffee and was blown away by the fantastic taste! I even brought some home. And to make it even better it was on sale! Another favorite are the Our Family toasted oat cereal. So delicious for breakfast. The produce is fresh. We also got a few "Honey Crisp" apples that were perfectly sweet and juicy and crisp to bite into; just the way I like them. The unique thing about this store and reason for my review is that they also make homemade fresh donuts every Saturday and Sunday morning. These donuts are fresh made and quite often made while you wait for your order. They compare favorably to cider mill donuts in size and texture where there are multiple toppings to choose from to include the cinnamon sugar you get at cider mill's. Nice! If you are fan of these types of donuts, which I am, you should definately check this place to but be warned they are very popular on Saturdays and Sunday mornings with long lines out the door during peak tourist season in the summer. I was looking for a steak to throw on the grill and wanted to give this business a try as there are only a handful of markets on this side of the state that specialize in meats. They had all the meats you would expect too see where I settled on a Porterhouse steak based on 1). how the steak looked and 2) price which was very reasonable especially in light of todays inflated meat prices at $12.99 a lb . Upon getting the steak home I was quite pleased with the end product. The meat had an appropriate amount of fat for a Porterhouse, was very tender and just as importantly was very flavorful where the meat was definately a cut above the other grocery stores in the area and on a par with Neiman's which has tad higher prices in my opinion. Based on my initial experience I will definately consider this market in the future where I will be leaning towards a nice Ribeye the next time round. People are friendly and the location just a block off of US23 is very convenient and hard to \beat considering its close proximity to other key business in the area to include Walmarts, coffee shops and assorted restaurants.
