What should have been a joyful evening turned into a distressing experience due to the actions of Debbie, a care aide and owner of Grace & Integrity Senior Services. While preparing to sit at a table with staff approval, Debbie repeatedly told us we couldn't sit there, despite having no authority. When I tried to lighten the mood, she turned to my grandmother and said, "This is why no one wants to sit with you and you have no friends." Her comment was cruel, unprovoked, and shockingly unprofessional. We were shaken and chose to leave. Staff we later spoke with were kind and supportive. Debbie's behavior raises serious concerns about her fitness to provide care. She should not be permitted on Sandalwood property, and families employing Grace & Integrity deserve to know how she treats vulnerable individuals.

Debbie is in constant contact with my wife and keeping her up to date. (We live 4 hours away). Their staff are extremely professional and show a great deal of compassion towards my mother in-law and my wife. Their services and costs are very reasonable. Most staff are caring and try to do their best within the time constraints and limited resources and supplies they have. Corporate Sienna and the Ministry need to rethink who's really important in their efforts and advertisements to serve our loved ones. This was an experience of where not to work. I have been sitting at my Moms bedside since last Friday. She is a resident at Lakeview Lodge…read moresenior home in West Kelowna. And she is palliative with dementia. In the middle of the night on Saturday, I heard that the care home in Osooyos was being evacuated. From what I understand nearly 100 residents and several care staff were transported in the middle of the middle of the night to safety here in west K. The kindness,patience, and care that I witnessed from all of the staff. ALL of the staff at Lakeview Lodge, and the staff that are being bussed back and forth from Osooyos is amazing! They stepped up!! The LAKEVIEW staff were getting towards the end of their shifts and most likely feeling tired and ready to go home. They received the call and rolled up their sleeves and did what they had to do to make the residents that were displaced feel at home, from housekeeping, care aids, nurses, kitchen staff, right up to the management, they all worked tirelessly to make everyone feel safe, comfortable and at home. I feel that the staff at Lakeview lodge and Mariposa should be commended for their tireless efforts to not only take care of displaced residents but also their own residents and the families of their residents. I have been here for 6 days now. It is a very difficult time for our family as we are losing our beloved Mother to dementia, but I, and my family have been given comfort, kindness and care also, they treat everyone like family. I will never be able to show my gratitude enough for these angels on earth! They deserve to be honoured! Thank you LAKEVIEW LODGE for not only stepping up in a crisis, but for making this care home a home full of love and kindness EVERY DAY!!
