My perennial organizer, Gina Burdette of Get It Organized, put together a team of pro organizers to pack-up my entire mass of artworks, furnishings, kitchenware, housewares, and garage items for a move to a new house. Gina's first choice to lead the pack-up team for me was Sophie O'Neill of Sophie Makes It Simple. Sophie and I met two weeks prior to my move date and hit it off right away. I could tell how much Sophie wanted to please me (all her clients I'm sure) even before we began the project a week later. We agreed to a strategy and stuck to it when two other pro organizers came to assist in my move. Sophie took lead and coordinated the other two organizers who worked part time on my project. I have a very special and extensive art & painting collection. Sophie spent nearly three full days meticulously covering and bubble-wrapping each one at least double what may have been needed---just as I asked for. These paintings were so well wrapped, they were ready for an international move via container ship! Sophie pretty much packed everything else that way too, per my request. She was very present with the other two organizers so that I did not do anything accept somewhat supervise when I felt to. For the most part, I spent my time doing the dozens and dozens of coordinating tasks like completing the sale of my house, transitioning to the new owners, closing down old accounts, getting a new place, transitioning to the new place, opening new accounts, selling some old things, buying new appliances, and many other things needing to be done while Sophie and team were packing. Having anyone touch my personal things is quite sensitive for me; much less pack and move them. Yet, I trusted Sophie right away with this most delicate project. The entire move process was very emotional for me. Leaving my home of twenty-four years and beginning a new life elsewhere. Having Sophie take such a huge burden off my shoulders was heaven sent. Something else I admired Sophie for was how conscientious she was about how her "packing" work quality would be perceived by my regular organizer Gina, when she would "unpack" me in the new house. Sophie wanted to be sure Gina would recognize the very high quality work that was done so that Gina would have great ease in her role in my move project. Sophie worked for days without taking breaks and I had to insist she take lunch that I provided for the team. When Gina suggested we needed help with the unpack at the new home, no doubt it was Sophie we wanted for that as well. I remember a number of light and funny moments with Sophie where we laughed.
