Ann Lowengart Interior - A Dream Come True!…read more In December 2025, my husband, Scott, and I moved from Sacramento to Marin County, purchasing what we hope will be our forever home. We intentionally moved with very little furniture because we were excited to start fresh. While the possibilities were exciting, furnishing and designing an entire home felt overwhelming. Fortunately, my daughter's coworker recommended Annie Lowengart. From our very first meeting, Scott and I knew we had found the perfect designer for us. Scott spent his career in commercial construction and has extensive experience with budgets, space planning, and project management, so he naturally had plenty of questions. Annie and her project engineer, Monica, welcomed every question with professionalism, patience, and expertise. Their communication was excellent, and they were always responsive and attentive to our needs. Together, we developed a vision for our home that included updated kitchen seating and lighting; a welcoming living room with beautiful textured fabrics and colorful accent seating; new furniture for the primary bedroom and office; and a refreshed entryway. We also updated our downstairs ADU, including the bedroom, bathroom, and recreation area. One of my favorite parts of the experience was selecting the fabrics, textures, and finishing touches. Monica always arrived with thoughtfully curated options, making the process both enjoyable and effortless. She had a wonderful ability to understand our tastes and guide us toward pieces that reflected our personalities while bringing warmth and character to every room. Working with Ann Lowengart Interior was an absolute pleasure from beginning to end. Annie, Monica, and the entire team combined exceptional creativity and professionalism with a genuine understanding of how we wanted our home to look and feel. They made what could have been an overwhelming experience exciting, collaborative, and fun. Most importantly, they transformed our house into a home that feels beautiful, comfortable, and uniquely ours. We could never have achieved this without their talent, guidance, and dedication. We are forever grateful to Annie, Monica, and the entire Ann Lowengart Design team. We wholeheartedly recommend them!

Renee and Annie V. led our project, and Annie L. stayed involved in every decision and meeting, which we really appreciated. We wanted our home in Inverness to feel cozy and welcoming for family and friends. We didn't want the furnishings to compete with the beautiful, peaceful views of Tomales Bay and the forest. Renee and Annie listened and delivered on all counts: We wanted the house finished before our Fourth of July family gathering -- done. We wanted it to reflect where we are in life: empty nesters, with room someday for grandchildren to visit this special place -- done. We wanted it to stay humble and let the natural beauty of Inverness shine -- done. We wanted no drama, and we wanted to feel part of the process -- done. Our Inverness home is now a place where we can be restored on our own and also welcome a crowd to entertain. We absolutely love it, and it feels just like us. We highly recommend Renee, Annie, and the entire Ann Lowengart team to anyone considering an interior design project. Trust that you'll be in good hands!

3.5 stars. I found Marissa through Houzz after the interior designer I'd worked with for many years…read moreretired, and I hired her for a small bathroom remodel. Overall, my experience was mixed. She has a strong design eye, and the finished bathroom is lovely. That said, issues did come up during the project, which is not unusual with remodels. Where I struggled was in how those issues were handled. When problems arose--such as sloppy tile and grout work, a cracked cabinet, and a light fixture that didn't meet U.S. standards--her initial response was to defend the subcontractors and the work rather than move directly into problem-solving mode. To her credit, once pushed, she did address and resolve the issues, but the initial defensiveness was frustrating. Ultimately, I completed the final stages of the project on my own, with help from a friend, as working with her became more stressful than managing those last details independently. I think Marissa would be a good fit for a strictly interior design project with fewer logistics to manage, but I would not use her again for a remodeling project.

Kanika is an extremely talented designer, and I can't recommend her enough!…read more We bought a house in March 2020 - signed the contract days before covid stay at home orders. My husband and I then spent two years working from home together in our front room (we call it the study now) without any rhyme or reason, just putting our desks wherever they fit, because it all happened so quickly. It was awkward and ugly, cords and monitors everywhere, and not a great look for people walking in our front door. The whole time, I was thinking, "when this is done and at least one of us goes back to the office, I want to make this room into a nice space to read and relax, and also to WFH when I have to." That's where Kanika comes in. I tried changing the place up on my own, but every choice I made seemed to make my space uglier and more awkward. It was time to hire a professional. That decision was worth every penny. In the end, my project turned out to be slightly bigger than just one room. I enlisted Kanika's help in choosing flooring, baseboards and paint for the whole house, furniture for my entire downstairs (we were still using the old living room furniture left by the previous owners), and light fixtures throughout. She was easy to work with and understood immediately what I was going for. My study is a real showstopper now - the walls are this deep blue color that looks amazing, she designed a gorgeous custom bookshelf that makes perfect use of the space, and she picked a couch that is the perfect size, just the right color, and so comfortable. And we still managed to get a desk in there for those WFH days. Literally just the other day, I was on a Zoom with someone and thought "this room behind me is so pretty, it looks like a fake background." But it's real, and in my house! And it wouldn't have happened without Kanika. The paint color she helped me pick for my bedroom is something I never would have chosen on my own, but I still regularly think about how nice it looks whenever I go in there. Same with the color of the living room couch, I'd never have found it on my own, but now that I have it, I love it. She knows her stuff. Kanika's husband Adi runs the business side of things. He managed the project, hiring contractors and keeping everything on schedule. The work was done on time, and he kept us in the loop, patiently answering any concerns or questions. And, no shenanigans with the final cost. Really, hiring Kanika Design was a great decision for us.
