Cupcakes were not very good, for our taste. Very spongy texture, like a tapioca-based pastry. No crumbs to the texture. On the dry side. We got a three tier cake with two layers of turtle and one layer of chocolate. Both were gooey and melted in your mouth. I personally am not a big sweets or chocolate girl but Nicci has cakes down to a science. I'm glad I don't have to worry about fitting into a wedding dress anymore because I have been on a strict leftover cake diet for the last week. I finally decided to stop in this cute little shop and try it for myself... had to do it for the Yelp! And omg I'm so glad I did. The berry tilly cupcake is absolutely amazing! Seriously I have no idea how they get the cake so soft. I'm usually a chocolate girl but every single white cake cupcake from this place is so good. The chocolate cupcakes are delicious but it's more like a dense dark chocolate cake... while it hit the spot, the texture wasn't like the berry tilly. I also tried the chocolate cream pie based on a recommendation from the staff and I was pleasantly surprised! They have a great team working the counter. I plan on going back to try more from the menu and ordering a custom cake for a bday!

Best brunch I had in Frisco…read more Butterhorn Bakery and Cafe is the highest-rated brunch spot in Frisco, and based on my experience, I'd agree with the hype. Of the couple of brunch spots I tried in town, this was my favorite. I ordered the Cornucopia with eggs over medium and substituted the home fries for fruit. The fruit was surprisingly good, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas with a light sprinkle of powdered sugar. A side of fruit can be pretty hit or miss when you substitute it at brunch, so I was pleasantly surprised. The eggs were cooked right, and the toast was fine. I opted for turkey bacon, though, and I'd recommend skipping it. It was pretty crispy and lacked much flavor. The standout was the cinnamon roll French toast. We ordered it to share with the table, and I highly recommend doing the same. It comes with two large cinnamon rolls that are soaked in egg batter and grilled French-toast style. It was top tier. I noticed several tables around us sharing the regular cinnamon roll as well, and those looked fantastic too. They also have a bakery counter inside with plenty of grab-and-go options. The pastries all looked great, along with fresh bread, cookies, and other sweet treats. If you're visiting Frisco and looking for brunch, Butterhorn is definitely worth a stop. And whatever you order, I'd make sure the cinnamon roll French toast makes it onto your table.

Another Breckenridge gem!…read more If you are a lover of buttery pastries, fresh ingredients, and delicious baked goods, I would absolutely recommend stopping by La Française French Bakery. We were in a bit of a rush during our visit, so unfortunately, I didn't get pictures, but please work with me. :) The bakery itself is on the smaller side and very busy and quick paced, but does have seating available, and the staff was incredibly friendly. It feels like stepping into a bakery in a small town. I ordered the Spinach Goat Cheese Feuilleté and a Fruit Tart. Spinach Goat Cheese Feuilleté (8/10) - This was buttery, flaky, and delicious. The pastry practically melted in my mouth, and I really enjoyed the overall flavor. My only wish was that the goat cheese had been a bit more prominent, as I love the flavor it brings to a dish. Fruit Tart (10/10) - Delicious! The fruit was incredibly fresh, and the tart carried such a wonderful balance of flavors. Every bite was a treat. Overall, I really enjoyed our stop here. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I can certainly see us returning the next time we're in Breckenridge!

Slightly soft in the middle, bursting with flavor, and guess what? The adults ate them just as much as the kids! And, no, I did not store the leftovers in a secret hiding spot in my kitchen so no one could find them. I totally didn't do that. I totally didn't eat them all myself in the subsequent days. Noooo, not me. ;) Trust me - buy the cookies. Your mouth (and family) will thank you! P.S. We didn't take photos of the cookies, because people ate them so fast!
