9/18, we closed on our new home. This was going to be a big paint job. We needed a 4bdrm, 4…read morebthrm,3,000 sq ft house painted, floor and walls of the garage and bsmnt, &outside shutters and door.I took to google/yelp for some help-searched companies/reviews, looked at pictures. My husband & I had 5 different companies come out and give us estimates. After meeting Mike with UPP, his prices were not in the least bit cheap, but Victor(husband) insisted that this was the company to go with (his favorite saying is you get what you pay for). Mike promised that the work would be done in a week, and Satisfaction was guaranteed-all in a signed contract!!!This was another selling point, so we thought-gives credibility. From day1,everything was so sloppy. Victor called Mike and Mike insisted we could not be breathing down their backs so early on and they needed time to work.Super long story, as short as possible-this was a $10,000 mistake!Yes,10K!Mike was barely there, would pop in in AM to drop of the needed paint supplies, & leave to go to another "bigger" job he admitted he was working on (not what was promised). He would leave 1-2(much older) guys at our home to do the work daily. These 2 were slobs- sorry but I expect respect for our property. BRAND new furniture, not properly draped, screws and nails left scattered all over (we have a dog so Id have to play clean up after them daily so he didn't eat or step on them), sanding dust and supplies left everywhere, puddles of URINE left on the squatty potty-OMG YUCK! I don't even have to clean up after my own husbands urine, why am I cleaning a strangers'?Vic came home from work one day to them-spilled a gallon of paint on our driveway and helped themselves to his pressure washer. I came home and couldn't understand why there were little bugs flying all over- I find a Wawa bag with rotting left over eaten fruit and food.Left over dirty cups and tea supplies daily. After calling Mike, he reassured my husband that he's had this talk with them before about similar behavior and would again be talking to them. The one day when we were asked to go through the house and find anything we needed fixed or touched up, Vic pointed out some extremely obvious areas with missing paint and the 1man replied with something like- "Ok. I have a problem with my eyes, my vision is no good that's why I didn't see it". WHAT?! I am paying 10K dollars for a paint job from a man who has vision loss?!Good Lord, I know we all age and have to make a living but why is this the man responsible for painting when he can not see? :( The painting throughout the house was HORRIBLE.Every room there was something missed, a molding not painted, a door handle lacking paint bc it wasn't taken off and painted around, paint on ceiling, our mirrors and dripping down shower, entire walls without enough paint. 2 walls completely not sanded and unfinished, completely skipped painting behind toilets and the fridge, moved the washer and painted behind that, but didn't move the dryer and paint behind that. What happened to the part where they were supposed to spackle, sand, prime & prep all of the the walls before painting them? Mike said-didn't need to be primed and tape didn't need to be used because it would take too long, they would just do straight lines "with a steady hand". THIS took these guys A MONTH to finish. Please remember what was promised-1 week w/3-4 guys- we had only 1 guy working for the whole day at times. We had brown stains dripping from the walls/bubbles in bathroom paint in 1 mo.The garage floor paint was chipped and peeling w/in 3 weeks. The paint on the front door is unfinished, can't even hang a wreath on the door because everything sticks to the paint still.IS all of this something wrong with the paint maybe?Thought Sherwin Williams had a great rep for quality. Maybe it wasn't paint meant for outdoor, garage floor, or bathroom where there'd be humidity?Or is it ignorance of the painter to not use a paint that is made for these areas? Maybe because nothing was primed? I mean I don't know honestly, but I am not the painter- that's why we hired (what we thought) were professionals. The outdoor shutters- yes, we were a pain had them change color bc we didn't like original choice, but make no mistake-WE PAID for it. Shutters put back on loosely and flapping in the wind bc never properly hung right after they took down to paint. Vic texted Mike multiple occasions to let him know&got blown off. About shutters, he told us he would have guys come back to fix them. Nope, had to pay someone to re-hang them properly. For garage issue, Mike said we'll wait for dryer weather to fix it. Have we heard from him, 7 months later? Nope. Please, let the photos speak for themselves. Every day my husband & I notice something else done half-assed and it angers me more than anything that we paid so much money, in all honesty the entirety of our savings, for POOR work.
