My son often gives me gift cards from Costco. The process used to be easy, but now they make you register your gift card everytime you use it and they try to convince you to get a membership everytime. Annoying. Prices are ok. Not cheaper than other grocery stores when you buy on sale. Cheaper than regular prices but I never buy regular price. And it takes my husband and I forever to finish their bulk size things. They do have some things that other stores don't have like Kirkland brand. It's always busy and weekends are crazy. read more

The tables where people eat the food at your canteen are always filthy. Someone needs to oay attention to this area more carefully. I used bottled water and napkins. That is how bad they were. read more

Update: This Costco location is now a Costco Business Centre (well, it's been a Costco Business Centre since March 2021 but I'm just getting around to updating my review now, lol). So if you see any reviews or pictures in this listing from before March 2021, it was a regular Costco then. Costco Business Centres are more geared towards businesses, so quantities tend to be larger, they sell lots of takeout restaurant packaging, and things like commercial deep fryers. They don't sell some things that regular Costco locations sell like clothes, shoes, books, cakes, and rotisserie chickens. There's also no food court. I don't own a business, but I like going to the Costco Business Centre because it is not as busy as regular Costco locations and I just buy bigger quantities and share with my parents and my brother's family, lol. They do sell some items that regular Costco sells in the same quantities, like granola bars and chips. This location used to a regular Costco, but then it closed down when the new one on Blair Towers opened. Then it reopened as a Costco Business Centre. I've tried to update this listing, but y'all know how listing updates sometimes don't get approved for unknown reasons. (68) read more

Ok, I do have an opinion on this particular Costco. Like any place that's a chain, I thought Costco is Costco anywhere you go, right? Well, not so much. As big as it is, this one is small for a Costco warehouse. As a result, they've cut out a lot of services that other Costco outlets have: no gas station, no glasses boutique, no hearing centre, and no fast food restaurant! You can't beat Costco's $1.50 lunch that comes with a hotdog and drink!!! In fact, as many good deals as they still offer, even st this location they don't stock absolutely everything. We did not find 2 items on our list, only got 6 items, and we still spent very claw to $100.00! So just beware when you go to this location. Edited to add that they had rows and rows of humongous buckets of food, like what a restaurant would order, coz the rest of us just don't need that much of anything! For instance, we picked up a 4L of Bernard's maple syrup ($49.00) (and we won't be buying any more for years now!), but they also offered a huge bucket of maple syrup - if I'm not mistaken, that one was $450.00 give or take. Yikes! All this to say that I waltzed out of there so hungry!! read more

I visited another Costco again! I know what you are thinking! ...and on a Saturday! LOL This is the first Costco in Ottawa that transitioned over to a Business Center Costco. I've driven by frequently and it never looked very busy, although we are in a stay at home order, so that may change down the road. Upon my visit last Saturday, it wasn't too bad. It was busy, the traffic was mostly congested in the open fridge where they store produce, deli meat and dairy and the lines went to the back of the store upon checkout, but moved fairly quickly. I did notice they carry more variety than other Costco's, especially products that you would see served in a restaurant. They also carry my favorite deli style pickle, Mrs. Whyte's. Know your prices. In my opinion, some prices at Costco are more expensive than your regular grocer, especially in the produce section. 10 bucks for 4 grapefruits, nah, I'll pass. They no longer have the restaurant on site, so no hot dog or ice cream after checking out. Overall, its an A-OK Costco. I went, I saw. I'll send my Costco loving husband to get more pickles when we run out. read more

Costco Wholesale - Wholesale Stores Near Me - Ottawa, Ontario

I wanted to do a little bit of shopping, while I was in that part of the city. I always come here to get my fruits and vegies, they are more expensive but usually last a longer time. I feel like the fruits that were available today, didn't match what I wanted to have. They usually have cotton candy grapes and raspberries and watermelon. I found grapes but at 9.99$ I will pass for regular grapes. I think the cotton candy are 13.99$ for a pack but they are so worth it. I ended up buying some bananas, egg white ( amazing price) I think it was 5.99$ and some dog food, wont be needing to buy some for a bit. I love going to costco because I usually find something new to try at home. I know that the things that they carry depends a lot on the season, I might be more lucky in spring. read more

The pizza is absolutely great so are the French fries all for a reasonable price. One thing I would have to say is that the drink machine is not working like its supposed to. For example when I try to get a mountain dew it fills it with bubbly water not mountain dew almost all the time its kind of annoying. Besides that everything else is excellent and I love Costco and I encourage you go there for the good prices and fries. read more

I love this Costco. Prices are great, employees are friendly, lines are short and the store isn't crowded. I highly recommend this Costco!

You need to learn to navigate the store and parking lot. I do avoid peak times and am always well served. I usually visit on average 3 times per month and after 10 years have gotten to know many of the staff and find them to be friendly and helpful. My frustration usually is caused by clients who "park" their carts in the middle of the isles while eating samples. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with Costco. I love that you can buy almost anything here (including prescriptions, eyewear, clothing and gluten-free bulk pizza!), and that there's some great deals to be had. I HATE the fact that everyone is rude, stressed out and that the parking lot is way too small to handle the massive amount of people that come through here on the weekend. I came here with a friend to purchase a new TV, and was really pleasantly surprised by the service we experienced from the salesperson (he was wearing all Samsung gear, but I can't remember is his name). He explained the differences between the TVs and we were happy to hear that Costco has a 3 year warranty on all electronics for $100. You also have up to 3 months to return or exchange your purchase, which I thought was more than fair. They also had some really good prices on electronics. I would absolutely come back to Costco for those things, but not this location. I find the layout and space at the Merivale location much better. It doesn't feel as overwhelming and the parking is much less frustrating. read more

There were so many people inside, no social distancing could be made, I felt I had to leave, on my way out I stopped and asked the women in a lab coat at the entrance about the fact that there were so many people inside, I asked her if they were counting, she said yes and the completely ignored me. mVery disappointed!! read more

I am a family of two. I don't need to have a membership here. Deep down I think I only go here for the hotdogs.

Costco at Gloucester, ON or otherwise known as Ottawa, ON at Innis and Cyrville is insane for parking.... I mean the Ottawa Police literally have to direct traffic for this mismanaged location. The store itself inside is not too bad... I'm being honest! However I am severely upset with their optical department. I waited more than 20 minutes for help, people were helped before me even though they arrived after me. There is a system in place to take a number to be first come first served but this location didn't even have a screen for the number next nor did they call it. I was advised by the transitionsTM Vantage company that Costco carried their lenses. However once I was served I was given no more than 60 seconds for the male Costco member to tell me they don't carry them. Being skeptical that he didn't know what he was talking about I waited for someone else since he didn't even make a recommendation for another lense. The "Transitions Vantage" are basically a transitional lens with polarizing abilities. After waiting for the second Costco employee I was told the same thing except that they didn't have my brand I was inquiring about but had their own brand. How do you know who to trust when the employees have no more than a minute to talk to you before they leave and completely ignore you? Seriously.... Costco? I'm not sure I need your membership anymore. Furthermore why the "f**k" am I paying for a membersip when now I learn you don't even need to pay for a membership to access your vision or pharmacy dept.? Why am I paying to wait in line when others don't even have a membership to Costco? On another note. I'm really sick and tired of waiting in a line after I paid for my purchases and have to wait in a secondary slow line to check the bill when.... let's be honest the employees checking the bill aren't actually looking at the items on the bill vs. the items in my cart? I feel under valued as a paying membership customer. read more

*PLEASE NOTE MY RATING IS ON THE TIRE CENTER NOT THE GROCERY SHOPPING* I am completely frazzled on what rating to give this Costco. Like others, I dislike the parking lot but I always tend to get friendly service inside the shopping centre. They are so great about returns and I usually always find what I am looking for and if not the staff is always friendly. The customers can be a different story but if you try and go the beginning of the week it usually is less busy so it's way better. Here is where I have an issue... the tire centre! I got a flat tire this November and my mechanic suggested I just bring the tire into the tire centre and get a replacement. Easy enough right? Well considering it was November I just put my winter tires on and now that it is Spring (finally!) I packed my tire up and off I went to get myself a new tire. The guy helping me was definitely a sales person and he seemed nice enough but also a little too much for me to handle. He told me I might have to get two tires because it was best to have two the same on the same axle on your car, fair enough I totally get that. Then he tells me I definitely need two because he doesn't have the same model in stock as it has been discontinued.. like okay whatever. Then he gives me a price for 2 tires and for 4 and I am like okay I definitely don't need 4 and he is like well I just have to give you the price for four. I was like okay and what if I just want to get one and he then proceeds to tell me it is illegal for him to only sell me one and this is where alarm bells go off in my head. I already had a weird feeling that the guy was trying to just oversell me because I am a female and legitimately know like nothing about tires. I was like what do you mean illegal and he tells me this story about how he could lose his job for only selling me one tire and if the cops pull me over that I am going to get fined etc for it. I call BS so I walked out and checked with my mechanic friend and with my coworkers husband and son who are both mechanics and everyone else also says that it is definitely NOT illegal. Plus when I look online at the Costco website I can in fact buy one tire and I can also buy the tire in the exact size and speed rating that I need, not one with a different speed rating like he was trying to sell me... So note to everyone who may not know what they are talking about when it comes to tires DO NOT GO INTO COSTCO TIRE CENTRE HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY SPOKEN TO A MECHANIC AND KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED. I also plan on contacting Costco and letting them know. I have no issue with buying two tires, it is the fact that he changed his story at the very end deciding to tell me it is illegal to only buy one tire - If it was in fact illegal why would he not have started with that information?! read more

Alright so my wife and I go here all the time. Anytime we go we seem to get the same greeter. An older Asian guy who either gives us attitude or a scowl. We've watched him let ppl in without showing their card and for some reason as we go to walk in he asks for our costco card. This has happened on multiple occasions. Today I went in with an exchange . So I figured I would go to the clothing and grab the right size of my item and just proceed to customer service and get it done. Of course I was great greeted by the same old crusty Asian guy. He proceeds to ask me if I am returning something so I answer yes. The guy starts yelling at me right of the bat telling me that I can't do that. OK I can't return? NO! YOU CAN'T GO IN THERE WITH THAT! Oh I can't? Why? I CAN'T LET YOU IN HERE WITH THAT! YOU CAN'T GO IN! Jesus you'd think the world was ending. Getting pretty sick of this guy's attitude. Might stop being nice to him and start giving him some of his own medicine. I can't be the only one who has gotten attitude and treated like shit from this crusty douche. read more

After going through their overcrowded parking lot and long lineups at the till, the cashier tells me that I cannot buy what I was there to buy because it was my mother's membership card. She started to give me a speech about how privilege people are for shopping there because it's a club. My mother had to go back to the store and go through the whole process again just because the cashier was one of those people who either could not think outside the box or had poor judgment. Poor customer service. read more

I love shopping there, when you go to school it's easy cause you don't need to buy egg every week or any other stuff cause everything is in bulk! Obviously you get out of there with stuff that wasn't on your list and a shopping that cost you more than 100$ but you have a lot of stuff!!! read more

It's Costco. It's in Ottawa east. Go there if you like good products at good prices often in large formats. Get gas there, it's cheaper. Buy your socks there. Remember that things like bread, guacamole, and hummus can be frozen even though you were raised to think they can't. You'll do fine. read more

As a new Costco member, I was happy to get on with my shopping today with all the great seasonal offerings available for the Christmas holidays. I visited between 1 p.m. and 2:30 and it was not busy so it was a nice experience but soon to be short-lived. I got myself a box at the back and proceeded to the cashier. I did not want 2 small items and I informed the Packer, who then looked at the Cashier and the two exchanged irritable glances at one another as I stood there looking at both of them. The Packer went off with the items and returned as I was unpacking my relatively few items from my cart. I indicated that I got a flat box to assist with packing the items but I did not know how to fold it into a box. The Packer now turned to the Cashier who was looking at her and told her "She said she does not know how to fold the box". They both were mocking me in PLAIN VIEW. How is this even respectful and acceptable conduct?? The Cashier takes it up a notch and responded by rolling her eyes and the Packer told me with this attitude that she didn't know how to fold the box either... She then simply bent and got a box under the counter for my items. I was so grateful for that. Is this how it goes with Customer Service at Costco for other shoppers?? On my next shopping trip, I will be sure to avoid Carol the Cashier and her buddy who seem to enjoy making fun of shoppers and demonstrating a negative attitude right in front of them. Absolutely appalling. read more

Note to any Costco member..I tried to call about car insurance yesterday (Friday of Canada day long weekend) about 3:00. Asked them about getting a quote. They put me on hold for over half an hour, came back and told me they were too busy, and being a long weekend to try back on Tuesday. Really. So I called another company and got service right away. So much for quality customer service. read more

ti';s really great for the small things. Most people want to buy bulk, and you should but not what you think. Eggs milk, cheese, fruit, sandwich meat. And my most fav thing, they are really getting on the Organic band wagon. The cost of coconut oil has gone up and that sucks, but it's still cheaper their then else where. Love it, worth the $50 a year, but I go, executive, we have a big family read more

This Costco needs to be closed now and another one opened. I have heard this will be happened, but I keep waiting and waiting. It is far too small. Insufficient variety. Dangerous at times to go into the dairy section - all kinds of obstacles that could easily cause someone to fall. It is not monitored closely enough. Extremely disappointing. read more

I ordered a new set of winter tires for my son online and when they arrived in the warehouse I received an email with a link to book an install appointment. Couldn't get one for over 2 weeks and tried to call numerous times to find out about walk ins. No answer or was hung up on. Stopped in there and asked and they said that they take walk-ins at 6:00 am. Went there this morning about 5:40 and was about number 18 in line. Doors did not open until 6;10 and was then told sorry but they only take 16 people. Perhaps if they had opened on time they could have taken more customers. A simple sign on the door explaining this would have prevented myself and about 8 others from freezing our extremities off for over half an hour to be told too bad but can't see you. After spending almost $1000 (these are the 3rd set I have bought in the last 3 years from them) on tires from them, you would think the customer service would be better. Not buying tires there again!!!! read more
