This store is absolutely atrocious. I've never been so disappointed in a places customer service. The main perpetrator was a young girl of the name "Caroline." When I asked to speak to someone higher than her she refused stating she was in the highest there was. This was clearly not true. Behind her were her actual higher ups. One of these managers that stood behind her, too far to hear the nonsense spewing out of her mouth, soon came over. Not to help, but to constantly touch all over the girl who had stopped bagging my groceries. Upon asking them to do their job instead of playing tonsil tennis, Caroline started throwing my items in the bag after scanning them. She sloppily bagged the rest of my groceries, damaging my eggs and smushing my bread. I will not be coming back to this location unless it is clear to me that she has been fired. read more

This Costco was surprisingly not too crowded on the inside for a Saturday! Unfortunately, the parking lot is very small and fills up quick. The gas station is also small but has the lights that tell if a pump is free or not. The free sample selection was ample and delectable. The service was solid and friendly. Great value as always for the $1.99 pizza. The car key express was also here today - they are a solid value too! I really enjoyed seeing the visual and detailed history of Costco posted near the staff breakroom. Pictures attached of the history. read more

Pharmacy here is exceptional as always. Staff is warm, caring& efficient. It's nice when pharmacy techs actually remember customers and genuinely care about their health. The overall experience really makes you feel like a valued customer & makes me want to fill more of our family's rx's at Costco, even if my insurance makes me pay a bit more as it's a non preferred pharmacy it's worth it for the personal compassionate touch. read more

This costo is one of the busiest in the area. Once you get into the store things are fine, employees always seem busy. I have not had to interface with customer service, and when I did I do not recall any issues. The PROBLEM with this costco is the parking lot and idiot drivers occupying it. I would highly recommend going to the Leesburg one. You will notice parking spaces are painted a little wider at the Leesburg location. read more

For being a member for over 30 yrs in Sterling, So sad I miss the old professional customer service managers in Sterling store. First time to encounter, a non educated manager today. They need to give that EDITH /Merchandise a customer service training. Very rude and doesn't know to handle a simple customer servicet situation. The member has a simple request to get the information of the transaction and she cannot provide it. She definitely not fit to the job. So sorry for you Costco Sterling . Please bring back the good ones. Im sure you are receiving more complaints about Edith unprofessionalism attitude to the members. read more

Costco - Wholesale Stores Near Me - Sterling, Virginia

I mean, what can I say?? This is Costco. They have their ish together and know what they are doing, hence the crowds. I have this warehouse mapped out in my head and know where to navigate to pick up necessary items. However, sometimes I deviate from the plan and and up picking up stuff I don't need. As is the case with most warehouses, this one carries items seasonally or they rotate their products every once in a while. I have a love/hate relationship with Costco because of that. The self-checkout counters are my go-to. I find it easier to just scan my own items, unless I have heavy items, then I have to wait for someone to come over with a scanner. Once checkout is completed, it's back to the madness of navigating past the crowd at the checkouts, food courts and the exit line. Customer service is hit or miss. They are just so busy that sometimes the staff are friendly, other times, they are just there to do their job, which works. There is plenty of parking, but it is slightly congested to get in and out. One entrance/exit is near the gas station entrance, which can be too much to deal with; the other exit/entrance is "one way" only, no left or right turn. I love Costco but think 5 stars would be too high, but don't think it's worthy of less than 4. read more

worst shopping experience I've ever had. The manager is stupid and wouldn't let me in and said my card was invalid. They made me wait 10 minutes at the door for the door tenant to call to the manager seven times respectfully I said to her ma'am, this is taking a long time. I have things I need to do and she did not respond. Do not come here never come here. Do not give them your business. They suck. read more

I felt incredibly disrespected and singled out by a supervisor named Christian at the Costco in Sterling. He made a passive-aggressive accusation about a sample cup I was holding--which had been given to me directly by a demo worker. I had just purchased a juicer and high-ticket AirPods, yet I was treated like a thief over a paper cup. To make matters worse, when I tried to address the issue with him calmly, he completely ignored me and refused to apologize. Management needs serious retraining in customer service and bias. read more

Confused and embarrassed: I'm a loyal Costco customer and stock-holder. I'm confused and embarrassed this morning at your store: Admittedly, it was busy as usual. When it was my time to check out, I put majority of my items on the checkout belt and left some items in my cart, eggs, milk, etc. The cashier told me that I should take everything out of my cart. I was confused, because I thought that it's OK to leave items in the cart at check-out. She answered me that it is only for really heavy items. I was embarrassed for my laziness. But when I saw another customer behind me just got checked out by an associate with a hand-held device ---every single item was in the shopping cart... What's your checkout policy, anyway? read more

Dealing with Clinton (heavy set gentlemen with goatee) who works at the food court is always the worst part of my week. He has zero business being guest facing . Tonight he barked at my pregnant wife for making eye contact and coming 'within 5 feet of my counter' .... She was literally trying to get the order right infront of them... a 22 minute cookie order. Went to Sam's afterwards, got a pizza and pretzel and it was wonderful. Will not be renewing membership as this gentlemen has ruined every visit we have been forced to interact with him read more

Over the years many issues with the bossy checkout people with a chip on their shoulders at this Costco location, not to mention scary aggressive driver parking situation. Then I realized if I go to the other wholesale down the road, I can actually order online pickup my items without having to marathon thru the warehouse. Stubborn Costco still doesn't offer this service. Now their meats are subpar and their fresh bread bakery is gone, they also ruined the taste of their everything bagel and cinnamon raisin bagel. Why don't I just cancel subscription I ask myself all the time. read more

While leaving Costco today, the receipt/basket checker decided it was worth his time and ours to hold us there for 3-5 minutes so he could repeatedly insist I should not eat candy. We had purchased 3 items, 2 of which were boxes of candy bars for Halloween. He told me the third item was fine for me but the candy was not for me. We (unnecessarily but again he was holding us there) informed him it was for Halloween and he said the candy was fine for kids and people other than me, but not me. He just repeatedly tried to explain that I should not eat the candy. My husband I both took away from this that he thought I was too fat and shouldn't eat candy. read more

When trying to find chocolate Ensure this weekend, there was none on the shelf by where the prescriptions are. I called the store today and they have moved all 150 cases somewhere in the warehouse. Apparently, if it is "on sale" they move all those items into another area in the warehouse. For the best part elderly especially, this is very disheartening and difficult. To find someone to escort you to where it might be if you are lucky. It's a lot more walking in and out with crowds of people. Wouldn't it be great if where the product was, there would be a sign stating where the product has been moved to? It would save a lot of time on everyone's part! Thank you. I appreciate Costco, especially for prescriptions, they are the best! read more

My wife, 77 yrs, and I, 80 Yrs. with Asian background, had the worst shopping experience at Sterlimg, Costco, Virginia today, when the cashier, Andy, appears extremely pompous and discriminating. In fact, it was a very quiet Wedensday afternoon, when his lane had no customer at all, and we were the only ones approaching the belt, while he was chatting with a fellow helper, who was supposed to help customers load and unload stuffs. My wife approached him earnestly with our Costco card trying to help him get an early start for scanning, as we have a full cart of perchandise to upload, but he refused to take it, instead he waved his hand and "ordered" us to load the stuff on the belt first, while standing by idlely. We felt this was not a nice guy, so we went to another cashier. As we left, next customer arrived, he immediately changed his attitude and helped the customer load stuffs on the belt. This is downright discrimination agaist minority senior couple! We do not know what is the Costco customer service guideline, but this should be part of Costco, where we shopped for alomst 30 years as customers as well as investors. Supposedly, seniors and femals are among customers who need help most, but what we have experienced is telling a quite opposite story. Is something wrong with Costco, or with the society? read more

My often go to Costco, it's just like every other Costco mixed with some local perks. Here you will find what most Costco's have to offer, such as your rotisserie chicken, your food court and plenty of close options. However, what differs in this Costco is the local businesses that they present such as Aslin brewery solstice brewery and some Virginia coffee roasters . I have found that I am able to find everything that I need from this Costco with reasonable prices. Some of the downsides to this Costco is that it's always busy so finding parking is a hassle. I often have to park all the way in the back and even then I'm fighting with somebody to get that spot. The entrance is near the gas station entrance so it is congested often if you don't go at the right time getting gas can take up to 10 minutes, I have found the best times are, opening to noon, and near closing. I don't really interact with the staff since I use the self checkout option however, the staff has been helpful when I am looking for something particular. The ambience is just like any other Costco very busy. Lots of people walking around and shopping. The store is kept clean and well lit and I have never felt like I wasn't able to complete my purchases. it's a good local store and as far as Costco stores go, it meets my expectations. read more

FOR COSTCO GAS - Sitting in the gas line. They shut two lanes. Of course the lane I am in. They divert the two closed lane lines to ONE PUMP and allow people who just pulled in ahead of those who have already waited. Been shopping at this Costco for a few years now. Parking is always packed on weekends, but what Costco isn't? There is also gas here with pretty long lines (understandably). The store itself is always well stocked and kept clean, easy to navigate too. There are brown sugar boba popsicles here by the way and Japanese matcha azuki ice cream cups! Yum! The checkout lines move relatively quickly which is always a huge plus. I always go to the self checkout because I never buy a huge cartful of things at a time. The process always goes smoothly. The food court also gets you your food quickly. I usually order from a self order kiosk and wait about 5-7 minutes for my chicken bake/hotdog. read more

Yao is the reason for this negative review. I was doing Instacart with my husband in this particular store for the 1st time and upon entering the line Yao just assumed the 2 carts were together. Without asking he began tossing things on the conveyor and I had to halt him and let him know that this is two different orders for instacart. He quickly caught an attitude saying, "Then you should have let me know that!" I retorted, "Nobody asked you to touch the items sir." He says, "I'm helping everybody today." I replied, "That's your problem. Rather than asking if anyone needs help, you just jump right in touching things that you don't need to touch." He took half the items out of the basket, followed by walking off while saying, "I don't have to help you." I said very loudly, "No one asked you to!" As I mumbled to myself that I'm going to write a review about that particular store, he mutters, "Write any review that you want! I don't care." At this point the ignorance is too much. I'm going to write a review on Google too where I have well over 5 million viewers. I can tell the difference between the Maryland Costco, Virginia Costco, and the DC Costco. I wish I had the authority to fire nasty customer service reps because Yao would have been dismissed promptly upon insulting the customer. read more

This location stays packed no matter the time of day. The parking lot is always full, like super full. I would suggest if you need to go inside, do that first and then if you need to get gas do that last. The setup is similar to most locations so it is easy to find exactly what you are looking for. This is my second time at this location. The main parking lot is always packed and very congested with the Costco gas station feeding into that parking lot. It's always best to park on the side where it is less congested in there are many more spaces. Upon entering the store, the entrances or narrow. Once inside, you'll find huge ceilings and isles of merchandise and food, however, the aisle ways are very narrow making it very tough too navigate when the store is crowded. I am a loyal Costco fan and have been since at least early 2000 or before. (originally started with Price Club in Fairfax VA) I've purchased all types of products including their vacations, checks, tires, jewelry etc. I moved to Northeastern PA a few years ago so don't go as frequently as the closest store is over an hour away. To the point, I was returning from a trip to Culpeper VA and deviated from the closest route to go to Costco on my way home. I went to the Sterling store. I purchased approximately $500 of merchandise which is not atypical for me. One of the items, a Ninja Foodi multicooker. Upon opening the item, it seems as if it was a used product that someone returned. (food inside and missing a part that should have been included). I called Costco speaking with Emelie who was very nice, took my information and said that she'd have a manager call. After a little time, she (Emelie) called back and said she'd spoken to Eric, the manager on duty, (obviously he was not inclined to call) who understood my situation and if I'd bring the product back to Sterling (only about 280 miles from me) he'd issue a refund. I confirmed with Emelie that he knew I was calling from PA and she indicated he knew. Shame on the jerk that probably told Costco that the product was new and unused which is probably why it was back on the shelf. Shame on Eric for not picking up the call and speaking to me directly. Very disappointed, unlikely to return to the Sterling Costco. read more

This Costco needs a bit of a renovation touch. Been coming here for years, and the wear and tear shows. They need to make the gas station area a bit bigger too. The lines are ridiculous. Yes you save money, but it's so busy. It's the only location near Ashburn. If they make it a bit bigger with gas area, the lines will decrease. Finding parking is a hidden talent at this location. Try going between 11-12PM and avoid going after 4:30PM. I've been coming here with my family for years, and we are loyal customers but please make over time. Positives: The pharmacy department is very accommodating, if they don't have certain meds or creams, they call them in for you if needed. The optical department is wonderful. And overall saving money on products is the reason to get a Costco membership.~ read more

This Costco location can be a real mess pretty much every trip, due to poor traffic design. Also, the shoppers and workers can be feisty and rude. And, at most times, the product selection is not as great as the Chantilly, VA location. The Sterling store is terrific in every way! The meats are the best around and there are great selections of all food and clothing as well.

Many year COSTCO member and stockholder and have purchased tires and batteries multiple times from the Chantilly, VA Tire Center - which makes today's experience all the more ridiculous. Let's just say if I wanted to spend $600 to stand in line for 35 minutes I'd go to Disney World, where at least they wouldn't treat me as though I was interfering with THEIR day once they finally got to me: 1. Purchased tires in advance and scheduled an installation time, as suggested on website to specifically "avoid waiting". 2. Stood in line for 15 minutes on arrival, for no reason other than there was only one sales associate. Finally "Roland" ambles in, just as the line gets to me. No "sorry to keep you waiting", just asked me my name THREE times despite it being on the purchase receipt I handed him. All so I could give him my keys, which should've taken 60 seconds. 3. An hour later car is ready. Stand in line for TWENTY MORE MINUTES, including behind a guy who spent 10 minutes asking the one associate questions and having her pull from shelves and look at a large truck tire...only to decide he couldn't decide and leave. Finally, in comes "Roland" who only grunts when the associate says she pushed the bell button for him to come assist TWICE. Again, no "sorry", just asked me my name (again) and why I am there (again). All so I can get back my keys, which should've taken 60 seconds. DEAR COSTCO MANAGER AND/OR TIRE SHOP MANAGER. 35 minutes of standing in line just to drop off and pick up my keys for tires I already paid and scheduled installation for is outrageous. Please get you act together and stop embarrassing the COSTCO name. read more

I placed a call to this store tonight (In Sterling, VA) after speaking with Costco.com to seek advice on how to return a home delivery item. That is where it all went downhill just by speaking with a young lady who works in administration at this Sterling location. Since I had already done research to determine if the item I needed to return for being defective was eligible and it is. Costco over the phone told me it is returnable as well just to double check with my local store and make sure this is an item they personally accept back or if I need to return online. From the moment the lady got on the phone, I was asked about 10 questions, all about what i was returning, why (in detail), etc. When I told her the item was defective she did not understand what that meant apparently and kept asking me to repeat myself over and over. Then she told me that's "not a reason to return something and they will not be taking it"! (a mattress that we paid over $1,000 for mind you! She proceeded to continue being extremely rude and arguing with me even though Costco has a very clear policy on returns! I told her I would no longer take her abuse and would call back tomorrow to speak with the store manager. Staff here needs better training on their own company! read more
