The customer service here has to be the worst most ignorant I have ever had. I went to pickup a card but was denied. My wife and I are in the middle of a move and our current address does not match what is on our Id. When my wife went earlier this was no problem she showed I'd to prove who she was. The counter staff processed her card. I tried to explain this but was rudely told to calm down when i tried to ask a question in regards to this situation. her co worker was equally rude or worse. I had all my teeth removed so was really struggling to even talk and even tried to tell her this in response to her comment. Spring has sprung!! That means shopping for plants and the best deal I found was Costco. So off I go to check it out and wow it isn't a lie!! Hanging plants of all kinds in fantastic shape for $14.99 and up. Potting plants, trees of all sizes, with a great selection. I ended up getting 4 hanging plants for under $60.00. I set for the the summer now in the plant department. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly with speedy service through the tills. read more

We love Costco so much that we find it when we're on vacation as well. This one offered everything I would expect from a Costco. The gas was cheap. The groceries were plentiful. We only came to stock up on a few things. A word of warning to any other visitors from the US: they only accept MasterCard here. They don't take the US Costco credit card because it's a Visa. They also say they accept all debit cards, but ours is a Visa debit card and they did not accept it. Other than the struggle to pay at the register, I loved this Costco as much as any Costco. read more

Short line ups for a Costco anytime of the day including weekends, wide open aisles with less people around and the staff are super friendly here. Unless you check the dates on every single item you buy here, you can get screwed. It has happened pretty much every time we go (every two weeks for the past 2 years) that one produce item is moldy or rotten once you open it even if the date states it is good for one or two more weeks. You literally have to inspect every produce item you buy and sometimes you still cannot see it until you get home. Not sure if they don't store it properly? I live in south Calgary but prefer this location because most of the staff is quite friendly. However, it is not advantageous for me to drive one hour to return produce. I wish they would do a better job. Watch the dates on all refrigerated items also as they sell them right up until due date. Shopping here adds another 1/2 hour onto your time to check every item for expiry and mold. read more

Living in the deep south of Calgary, the Okotoks location is easier to get to then the closest one in Calgary. I like many other people who live in the deep south like this location. It isn't nearly as busy as the one in south Calgary. If there is a line up, it's still relatively quick to get in and out of. The lay out is similar to other Costco's the only main difference that I find between them are the food is on one side and the goods on the other. My only beef that I have with Costco, is that I wish they would have an express lane. I hate when I only have a few items and get stuck behind some person or persons with a huge cart full of stuff. I rarely get a person say, hey you only have a few items why don't you go ahead of me. I on the other hand always do this. In conclusion, come here if you live in the deep south. I only go to Costco for produce, but I am often disappointed when they have limited or no selection of foods that I would need to respect my autoimmune disorder eating requirements. Always have to drive around to get everything and Costco can never be a one-stop for my shopping needs. With fuel costs rising and the pressure to limit un-necessary travel it would be recommended that shoppers not have to drive all over the planet to get food. read more

So much for booking an online appointment for having winter tires put on. I booked an appointment weeks ago for today (oct 11) at 5pm at the Okotoks location. We got there 30 minutes early and was told my car would be ready at 6pm. So the kids and i hung around in Costco for 90 minutes, only to go back to the Tire Centre to be told my car hasn't even come in yet as they are running behind and it will be at least ANOTHER hour before my car *should* be ready. When I asked why I wasn't told about the delay when I brought my car in I got a shrug and a feeble sorry, and when I asked if all the other cars that were booked in at 5 pm were in bays, they were. No answer/reason as to why mine was the chosen one to be last. I generally love Costco and think the customer service in every other department is outstanding but after sitting here for 2 hours and counting (with 2 very bored kids in tow), I can honestly say my experience with the Okotoks Tire Centre sucks! read more

I'm writing this review on the Tire Centre. Had an appointment to have my summer tires put on. Price was great, but the person (Garrett) who was doing the switch called me and told me the plugs in the tire was not up to Costco's standards and was not able to repair. Ok , not a problem so I asked what we could do and he suggested 2 new tires, this was about 5:15 pm, getting close to closing, and I asked if they had new tires that we could put on. Garrett told me we could discuss it when I came to the tire centre as I was in the store. When I got there Garrett was there cleaning up a battery spill, and I introduced myself and was totally ignored and he went out back punched out and left. I waited at the desk for 15 min waiting for service and all the service guy did was give me my key and refunded my money and no talk about tires at all. I'm not to impressed and this really doesn't do much but wanted to spout off. Store is great but I'll never use the tire centre again. Service is important to me. read more

I go to this location weekday evenings, and I'm always amazed at how much more pleasant an experience it is compared to the Calgary locations. Costco is great for the selection of products it sells, and I'm a regular, but a few things typically make a stop in Calgary annoying: the lack of parking, jam packed stores, and the checkouts. *** THE CHECKOUTS!!! **** Seriously... can no one at Costco HQ come up with a better plan? Piling rows of pallets much too close to the checkouts, so that when it gets busy, you get two LOoooong lines around either side of the pallets, and 15 short lines in front that no one can get to?? Hey, how 'bout a queue system with someone directing traffic??!?! Anyhow, the days of my checkout-rage are behind me (I hope) because the Okotoks Costco is QUIET by comparison. In fact, it's not uncommon weekday evenings to walk right up to a cashier and start unloading. Costco stores appear to follow the same template across the board, so what you will find in Okotoks generally is the same as in Calgary; with a couple of exceptions: The Okotoks location also has a members' gas bar, and its prices are a solid 10 cents cheaper than gas stations in Calgary. As well, this location has a liquor outlet. I took a tour through it yesterday, and noted they do sell some "Costco-sized" items. Examples are a 55 can "barrel" of Kokanee, and huge Kirkland bottles of vodka that reminded me of Texas mickeys. There is a wall of the usual economy wines (even Kirkland boxes), as well as the bin-displays of higher end wines that Costcos in the U.S. have in-store. The only negative I can find with this particular Costco is in the prepared food section. The items are similar to other locations, EXCEPT for the salads. The last few times I've been here, they only had ceasar salads ready to go. However, that's not enough for me to downgrade from 5 stars. The pros far outweigh the cons with this place. read more

I love Costco. And since this one in Okotoks has a Gas Bar which generally is 10¢ cheaper than any other gas station around, it saves me a ton of money. Of course the money I save I then seem to spend inside Costco anyhow so it's a wash. This new Okotoks location is generally never that busy, especially compared to the Deerfoot Meadows location in Calgary. The parking lot is huge. Go for the deals, stay for the free samples and then grab a $2 hotdog and drink on the way out. Can't beat it. read more

The best part of this store is that its not in Calgary. Its not as busy as the South Calgary store, but as they build more retail in the vicinity the volume of people seems to be picking up. Its worth the extra drive down to this location to skip the insanity at other stores in Calgary. read more

This is by far my favourite Costco in the surrounding Calgary area. It is open late till 8:30 to help Local residents avoid the crush of residents from south Calgary communities on the weekends. There is good access in and out of this particular store with more than ample parking. The shelves area always fully stocked and. The clothing isles are always tidy and organized. Most weekends despite the fact that the store looks jam packed, often all or most of the tills are open so that making your way through is as effortless as possible. read more

Love this Costco! I generally go on Friday and never have to contend with the ridiculously long line-ups at most Calgary Costco stores. Great selection, friendly staff and lots of samples to try. If you are hungry, try one of their delicious smoke meat sandwiches...best deal in town! The gas bar offers excellent prices that seem to be up to 10 cents lower/litre than most gas bars. The adjoining liquor store offers a small product selection compared to a typical grocery liquor store but the regular prices are lower than most other store sale prices. I often save $6 or more on an $18 dollar bottle of wine. read more

Unfortunatly our Costco trip was disappointing. We came to Costco in hopes of buying a small packet of band aids because ozone member of our group was cut, to our sadness the Only at set of bandits they had was this huge set that cost $20! We were also looking for one small jar of pickles, but unfortunately they only came into sets of 2 packages. Since we We live out of town we were planning on taking a trip to the river to go boogie boarding. Unfortunately the only boogie board they THOUGHT they had was $30. After eating lunch over a period of 20 minutes they finally came to us and told us they had none left in stock, Even though we specifically waited so they could get us one. But if you drive right across street to Walmart, you will find another boogie board for only $13. The only good part about this trip that we got five hot dogs and five refillable drinks for only eight dollars. (That was a HUGE deal on food!) If you are looking to go grocery shopping in Okotoks, I would strongly recommend to you to go to Walmart, Safeway, or some other shopping Center. read more

I think Costco should stick to selling stuff they know! (And have people at the counter to explain it to you that are not snotty) Anyway I bought a freezer there "Danby" second Danby I've bought from them that has died. This one lasted five months so not too bad, like what a joke now instead of returning it because it's past 90 days I have to call a number and have someone come out and tell me the freezers dead, that's great that helps me out a lot I already know the freezers dad I lost $50 worth of meat! I think if Costco continues to sell garbage products the ratings will go down other than the excellent five star ratings that their friends and employees have given them! read more

I live in Calgary but drive down to this store because the speed and sanity of getting in and out is much faster than fighting the crowds in Calgary! Point in in fact I was there at 2:00pm on a Saturday afternoon and it was not busy! The best Costco out there! I will never buy tires anywhere else, the service is second to none, and they rotate your tires for free too! They went above and beyond to help me in a tire emergency last winter and even followed up with a phone call a week later to see if everyone was ok. I just love Costco for its variety and customer service and satisfaction. They have an outstanding return policy. On a recent visit I requested a price adjustment when I saw something I had purchased on sale. I have shopped at several Costcos in Canada and the United States....this one is by far, my favourite. The staff treats you like a valued customer, instead of a herd of cattle that has eaten your prized petunias. The store is clean, well stocked and laid out well. I ordered winter tires through Costco. I have been running on smaller rims in the winter (as supplied by the dealer) as there are no snow tires for my summer rims. At no time was I advised there was a problem with this. My tires came and when I went to have them installed the technician phoned and said he would put them on the rims but not on my car as the tires were not rated for the car and Costco would not accept liability. I just took the money back. I have since done a bunch of research and in fact experts recommend putting on smaller winter tires. This has inconvenienced me as I must now get tires elsewhere, wait for them to be ordered and installed. Misinformed employees are a problem! read more

Trina at the Membership Services/Returns desk was completely rude and the exact opposite of friendly or helpful. I'm so happy that Okotoks has this Costco. I never buy gas anywhere but at the Costco gas bar, and at this location I've never had to wait for any length of time in line for my groceries.
