Thank goodness for Costco! Same prices as on the main land! We stayed in a condo for a week and stocked up in water, eggs, and fruit. A whole pizza, hot dogs, & mocha latte freezes always does the trick for an easy and fast dinner after a long flight. read more

First stop we made when we landed! We were staying at the northern part of the island and figured we would get our supplies at Costco before heading out. You can get your souvenirs here at a cheaper price like macademia nuts, chocolate and Kauai cookies and coffee. They also sell poke which you don't see in mainland Costcos. I regretted that we didn't get any steaks to grill. Close by the airport so you can fill up your rental car for a cheaper price. read more

It's your standard Costco with some special products. For example, a $45 snorkel set that you can purchase instead of renting a lousy one for $5/day. We were tired of eating out at expensive prices so we got a nice spinach salad and also ordered some items from their standard food court. Gas was around 6c/gal cheaper than any of the other stations in the area. read more

I love Costco. This one on Kauai has a large selection of bulk products you can stock up on. Although it is a little limited to its Oahu brothers, it carries a lot of great goods. The gas is also the most affordable on island. read more

Ok. I'm not a big Costco fan. But I at least expected the prices to be low. But in this garden paradise, you end up paying very high prices for food in too large a bulk unless you're a traveling caravan. The Times supermarket across the street is actually cheaper and much more convenient. Then when my wife couldn't find the right Costco card, they voided our order before another person in our party showed them their card. So they had to ring us up twice. Inconvenient, bulky, and expensive to boot. The only reason I can see to shop here is if you want to skip lunch and eat all their junk food samples! read more

This Costco was really similar to the one we have back home, but the prices were a bit more expensive...but what do you expect...it's Hawaii! This Costco was extremely clean and have a great selection. We purchased flats of water, soda, snack foods and fruit for our week stay in Kauai. What's not to like of Costco? They have most of the products offered on mainland. The price is the same, which surprises me greatly. I would think everything costs more on the island because of the added cost of transportation. It's located about 2 miles from Lihue airport, which is added convenience for stocking up foods and drinks when you arrive, and filling up the gas tank before you depart. Best part of Costco here is the clothes! They have clothes of small sizes! For men's pants and shorts, they go from Size 28. And they have X-Small for women's. Woohoo for me!!! read more

Two weeks on Kauai warrant a trip to Costco. This one is well organized, clean, and crowded on weekends just like most Costcos. However, this one has Hawaiian artist cd's, surfboards, snorkeling gear, and other items specific to the area. Yes, prices are higher for most items, but that's expected. I don't understand why costco allows the Direct TV kiosk salesman to harrass its customers. They try to get your attention by insulting your intelligence, by making statements like "oh, you're not intereste?, I guess you don't like to save money" or "you look like an Oceanic cable customer who is throwing away money". They should not be allowed to approach us at any time. Like I have told them before, I see their kiosk, know what they are selling and if I'm interested I will approach them. On a week-long vacation, there's no point in buying bulk - but wanted to check it out for the local products. Henry L. - the poke was $15 per pound! At Foodland, it is $5 per pound. The least busy Costco I've ever been in. Typical Costco selection and prices however you can buy bulk quantities of Hawaiian Host chocolate & macadamia candies which is much cheaper than Hilo Hatties. Great for souvenirs to take home. Love Costco. Our Kauai timeshare means the best and cheapest way for my family to eat is by stocking up on grub at Costco. So it's become a tradition. We land at Lihue, grab the rental car, and go to Costco. Not the ideal activity after flying all day, but what better way to kick off vacay than with a cart full of booze and food? If you venture to regular grocery stores (ex. Foodland) on the island you'll realize that most of their products are very expensive and you may as well just buy it at Costco and get a lot of it for the same price! read more

My goto on every vacation. This location did not disappoint with it's local food, snacks, and Aloha wear. Stocked up on water and snacks for the week and bought Hawaiian shirts and snacks for the trip home. Love the huge selection of Hawaiian beers and beverages too. Oh if only we had them at the mainland locations! It would be awesome if we could have them shipped to our local Costco. Just gives me and excuse to keep visiting Hawaii. The staff is super friendly. Had my first very bad experience today with Costco at their optical shop. We had bought their eyeglass cleaner which was supposed to have unlimited refills. We bought 2 of them at different times and took them back in today to be refilled before going on vacation. The optician said they had discontinued the program and wouldn't refill them. He said that refills didn't mean refills for life, just until Costco changed it's mind. Horrible service, he seemed happy about not honoring their promise. I will never spend another dime with Costco Optical as you can't trust their promises or guaranty. read more

Who doesn't love Costco for their bulk items at a great price? I did half my X-Mas shopping there this year and love going there to buy the usual household goods from food, to toiletries, to appliances, and of course for the free samples! The only negative remark I have about Costco is that their produce is one of the scariest I've seen by far. The bananas never turn yellow if you buy them slightly green plus they're 2x the size of what we should be consuming in one serving, which is pretty much the same for other fruits and veggies there as well. That's okay though, that's what we have farmer's markets for. :) read more

It's like any other Costco I have been to but this one is very special to the people of Kauai. Due to the high prices here on Kauai, Costco allows residents a chance to get goods at a reasonable price. The snack bar is a big hit with locals. Cheap descent eats. Least expensive gas on the island! If u r renting a car this is a great place 2 fill up. If u r traveling in a group it's a must stop for bottles water snacks and food if u r cooking. Clean and not very crowded conveniently located. Worth the trip! read more

When my Husband and I went on our Honeymoon we ate Costco pizza almost everyday. It saved us so much $$$. It's the cheapest place to eat on the island. I highly recommend it, we ate at a few restaurants on Kauai and were not impressed. The quality of the food just isn't as good as what you get on the mainland. We stayed in Kapaa and we would make the drive almost everyday to Lihue. My travel tip... Save some $$$, pick up a slice and a soda for 2 for about $6.50 and get some gas while you are there. read more

Great place to pick up supplies. Locals have a think called Kama'aina and its discount for residents, typically 20%. If you wonder why things are expensive on the islands it's because they are gouging tourists. No Kama'aina needed here. read more

This Costco has all the amenities, including gas station, deli, photo, pharmacy, etc... It just makes stocking up for the entire vacation so much easier. Highly recommended as a first stop for water, etc. on the way out of the airport if you're going to be staying on the island for a week or longer. read more
