Costco carries the name brand hearing aids you find in a audiology office but under a different name, made by the same manufacturer. You are able to try the hearing aid while in the store before purchasing. The free hearing test they give you is so much better than what the doctors' offices offer. The only difference is it is done with a computer. The benefits of purchasing a hearing aid from Costco is so much better than what audiologist offices offer for more than half off the price. The only thing about Costco is there was no Doctor of Audiology at the store when I was there but if you had a hearing test with the results, and know pretty much what you want, you don't need to speak to one. It does take a little longer to receive the hearing aid from Costco than if you went to a doctor's office. The hearing instrument specialists are pretty knowledgeable, but it depends on who you get. For me, Jazmin at the Costco Cabot Road location is the best to work with. She is patient and I trust her judgment. Her experience shows.

Wendy, the audiologist, was incredible! She took the time and had the patience needed to guide my mother through several devices and adjustments until my mother (and I) were completely satisfied with our product. There are so many different models and choices to make it can be overwhelming for any one let alone an elderly hard of hearing person. Wendy made sure my mother received exactly what she needed and that her devices were a perfect fit and that my mother understood how to operate them. We asked how much a cleaning would be for her and they informed us it would be around $65. This would include cleaning her ears as well as as the hearing aids. We thought that was fair, given we are in California lol After taking her hearing aids out and checking both her ears and the aids, they discovered neither one really needed to be cleaned. The gentleman who is helping us explain to my mom one area that she could brush free of some dust, and after learning that she didn't have a brush... He went and got her a couple for free. They didn't even let us pay. I thought this was so generous as they could've still charged us for the appointment and the time they took to sit with my mom. Great location, great service.
