Some employees there were rude. I bought a box of Fudge bar which all melted as soon as I walked out of store. returned back immediately n tried to tell them the issue. The girl at return booth was nice and sweet. But the guy at cashier end was so rude n no patience. I get it end of the day he may tired. So I walked back n get a new box by myself. He was like you should've get it at the end of your whole shopping. Sounds like I was the stupid idiot one. But actually the second box same thing melted. Obviously something wrong with their storage freezer. Only if he wasn't too rude/cocky, they may figure it out. maybe they don't care at all. This location is always the worst. The entire team is quiet. No talking, no sample selling. Sometimes the cashiers even omit the small talk with me. They have conversations amongst themselves in Spanish. The front end manager is not visible; I can't recognize them from my years of visiting. Yesterday I was here and of course I didn't have my membership card so I was turned away. Today I was at another location and they looked it up with his identification. read more

This is a very busy Costco and it is hard to find parking. You never know what treasures you are going to find here. I love finding cool and name-brand clothing here and recently purchased two ORVIS sweaters. The only drawback is there are no dressing rooms. I love their soups and everything is just so tempting! It's Costco! HUGE bags of toilet paper! Do you know how many times I can wipe my butt with after only one trip to Costco? It's a lot! And they have pallets of great cheap bottled water! Do you know how much water I can drink after only one trip to Costco? A lot! I love this place. 5 pound buckets of cole slaw and potato salad! Do you know how high I can raise my blood sugar with a 5 pound bucket of potato salad? A lot! Oh and let's not forget the 10 pound cheesecake. How great is that! Give me a fork and that 10 pound cheesecake and I will be in a diabetic coma in an hour. In fact maybe I will have it with a 36 bottle case of Kirkland beer. Now that is even better eating! There are some places that just do things better than anyone else. One is Abt in Glenview. Another is Costco, and notably its tire center. They have never disappointed me over the years. I've bought tires there and had a tire rotation done. Today, they were able to fit me in when it wasn't as busy for an emergency; I had a bent wheel rim and they also discovered a nail puncturing my tire! The staff is knowledgeable, quick considering how busy they are, efficient, and informative. They have also put air in my tires at other times when the air pressure was low. My husband had a appointment today at 2:30 to get a tire replaced. Upon arrival at 2:15, he was informed that they were running about 3 hours behind schedule. His tire was losing air rapidly, so we couldn't postpone this appointment. No one thought to call customers on today's schedule to alert them of the delay. Had we known they were so far behind, I could have followed him in my car so that we didn't have to spend exactly 3 hours wandering around Costco. My husband "checked in" after 2 hours only to find the installation technician seemed to be training a new employee on the computer, but when he saw my husband, he scurried back into the installation area. Perhaps these delays are a marketing ploy to encourage impulse shopping? What a waste of an afternoon!!! read more

DO NOT BUY TIRES FROM COSTCO. When puts new tires on their car they need to have an alignment. Driving the car even a few miles out of alignment has the potential to ruin the tires and void any warranty. Costco will not tell you this and they don't do alignments. read more

I got my Costco membership when I was single, had when got married, and now with kids. It's served me so well over the years! The produce is fantastic and so reasonably priced (although you did have to check the package). Great meat selection and quality. Can get the kiddos Uggs or "Costco Uggs" for a steal. Today it was squishmallow toys. If you have kids, you know they can't get enough of these. At other places, the pillow size 16" version is $25-$35. Only $10 here! Fantastic! These will be a big hit! They also have great prices on items for adult like Basil Hayden bourbon and The Prisoner wine. read more

I like this Costco location. It's generally packed but the staff here manage the crowds really well and are fast at the checkouts. Parking here sucks however as it seems to attract drivers used to driving in 3rd world countries for some reason. I don't mean to be shady or discriminatory but hey I'm a minority so I know how bad we drive. LOL. Anyway I like the meat section here better than most because they seem to have more Prime meats than the other one I go to further north. Usually when I'm here there are plenty of food samples with all the customer "flies" buzzing around to get their stomachs full so they don't have to make dinner. Came in for two things: flannel pants and tennis balls. They had neither (well, that's not true... they had flannel pants-t-shirt combo packs for $25, which just seemed crazypants expensive, literally). BUT we walked out with shampoo, allergy medicine, and holiday gift wrap. So, a normal Costco experience: the only predictable thing is that you WILL buy something... It's just unlikely to be that thing you were looking for. read more

The Tire Center at Costco has been bad news every time I deal with them. I originally bought four (4) Michelin tires for my 4 Runner and it was supposed to include free tire rotation. They recommend having the tires rotated every 6,000 miles. When I brought my car in for a tire rotation I waited an hour for them to tell me they would not rotate them because I did not have them rotated every 6,000 miles and the treads in the front tires were worn more than the back tires and it would be dangerous to rotate them. When I asked him if having less tread in the front tires was more dangerous than having them in the back, he would not answer the question. Now I have to take my car to BP and pay $30 for a tire rotation that was supposed to be included in the purchase price. It seems like some sort of Costco flim-flam to get you into the store several times a year and buy stuff while you wait for your car (between several hours to half a day). Very disappointing bad service at the very least and likely something more nefarious!!! read more

Went searching for the paper towels and one Costco location is Skokie was out at 10am ( opening). So we called and Glenview said they had stock. So we made the 25 minute drive. Little did we know they had a limit 1 on paper products so we were not able to grab our basic paper needs for our household. The worst part is the manager was beyond rude! Will not be going back to this location. Costco needs to find a manager with better people skills and they should really train their employees that answer phones to express limits if they have any. It's unfortunate that I have to leave such a negative review of Costco after being members for years. But my experience today after several negative experiences at this location has pushed me to speak up. If you don't want to be treated like a criminal I suggest that you stay clear of this store. My husband and I felt like we were racially profiled and discriminated against due to our younger age and race. This location has made us feel uncomfortable on several different occasions while checking out and walking out the store. Costco states that their exit greeters main purpose is to ensure that Costco has not overcharged its customers - This is definitely not my experience. Some of our past experiences consisted of a employee looking over our shoulder while scanning each item at the self check out while many other shoppers were left alone while scanning their items or looking over our receipts at the door multiple times before letting us pass. Although we noticed the difference in treatment compared to other customers we did our best to excuse their behavior. Today the exit greeter not only stopped us to count every single item in the cart (which other employees weren't doing to other customers). She also did not treat other customers in this manner. I will state that she did manage to find one item that wasn't properly scanned (6.99) after having me lift my items out of the cart so she can count and recount and touch all the items in the cart - we even had an employee help us scan the items during purchasing so I'm not even sure how this happened. We all heard the scanner beep with each item. The exit greeter also did not practice social distancing while checking my cart multiple times. I spent over 600 dollars today and I didn't expect to be treated like a thief. I'm including this to be straight forward and honest about my review. I felt that we were singled out today. I spoke to the manager and corporate about their employees needing more training to prevent racial profiling and age discrimination. I don't mind receipts being checked and items being counted if every customer is treated in this manner. I felt that the difference in how we were treated compared to other customers whose receipts were just glanced at made us feel like criminals. Im posting this review so that others may speak up about their experience and hoping that with some more employee training other customers won't have to be treated in this manner. read more

Great place to "bulk up"...buying mass quantities of stuff. This is especially great if the stuff isn't perishable. We're talking stuff like toilet paper, paper towels, wine, beer, and printer cartridges. It's also a place to consider shopping for "big ticket" items, like big screen TV's and computers. If you're having a party, Costco is DEFINITELY the place to shop. In addition to the aforementioned beer and wine, they have great pizza. And their meat department specializes in USDA PRIME, not choice, but PRIME meats. Beef, pork, chicken, seafood...you name it, they got it. Mass quantities of salads, dips, chips, frozen appetizers, coffees, teas, and soft drinks. I like shopping here because the prices are very competitive when you compare the unit cost of say, laundry detergent, to that of a grocery store. The brand SELECTION isn't great sometimes, but if brand names aren't of a concern, then Costco is THE place to shop. Costco is kind of like a ginormous shopping mall in one big warehouse. There's a jewelry counter, a clothing department, outdoor furniture, lawn and garden supplies, a kiosk where you can buy cell phones, a photo department, a pharmacy, and of course groceries! If you have a big family, or are planning a big party, this is THE place to "bulk up" and acquire mass quantities. read more

Came here with the my cousins to get some groceries. This location has a lot of parking space compared to the location in Davie, FL. The store was really organized and clean. There was a pretty good amount of samples too so we were able to try out some of the products before buying them. I wish they had a self checkout because if your only buying a few things then it's kind of a hassle waiting in the other lines. A self checkout would be faster and we could have been in and out in a few minutes. It's a great addition for customers who are in are hurry or time crunch. read more

Yesterday 9/11/2017 I went to the Costco on Willow in Glenview during my break. I purchased a bag of Kirkland Signature Steak Strips Extra Thick Cut. I open the bag and took a piece out and eat it. It tasted weird. Because I was so busy at work I didn't think anything of it. I took the bag home and asked my husband to try one. He reached in the bag and pulled out a steak strip and it was all moldy. The whole bag was no good. Date says best if used before 11 May 2018??? It had never been opened. Will return. I just hope I don't get sick or food poisoning from eating that 1 piece. 9/12/2017 I called Costco and told them what happened. Told them that maybe someone should check the other ones too or maybe it was just that one bag. Was told to return it and receive a credit back on my credit card. This review is for the optical department. I had recently had an eye exam at LensCrafters, however the contacts that they recommended completely dried my eyes out after I had them on too long (Acuvue Dailies). Good thing is that I only had purchased a 3 month supply. I told the doctor at LensCrafters about this and told me they will switch me to the MyDay contacts in the system and that I can order them anywhere. Just to be safe, I called the Glenview Costco location a few days before I visited the store and a woman answered. I explained my dilemma and told me to come to the store and they would be more than happy to fulfill my prescription and call LensCrafers to verify. Had taken my prescription for contacts to a young short gentleman and he told me that they could not fill the prescription since the brand of contacts (Acuvue Dailies) was different in the prescription than what I was requesting (MyDay). He stated that the doctor would have to give me a new paper prescription so they can fulfill the order. Advised him that I was aware of this and that they can call the optometrist to verify, cause they were aware of this. He said no because it is against their policy, which is not true cause I have done it before. After this frustration, I took the prescription to the Mettawa Costco location as is and had the contacts I wanted within 4 days. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about the guys that work at the tire center. I purchased a set of tires in December..dropped off my car and had it back in about an hour. They were so nice, and just made the process all the less stressful. Last week, I stopped by after going over a horrible pothole on Golf ...I thought I may have caused a hole, much to my dismay, and brought it in. I pulled it up to the garage door, and the guy inside came out with the airhose and tire gauge. I explained what had happened, and he reassured me that if there was a leak, or a hole, there should be a bulge (since it happened the night before). He filled the tires with the nitrogen, and said that I could bring my car by anytime and that he could take a look at it more closely. read more

Great selection of bulk products at great prices. Lots of parking pretty close to the front of the store, although I'm not a big fan of the traffic pattern in or out of the store. It's a bit confusing if you don't understand the layout -- however this setup is convenient during very busy holiday rush times. Products are top notch as always and the store is clean and organized. read more

This Costco store is better than the Costcos in Niles, Schaumburg, and Chicago. It is less crowded and there seems to be more parking space. Upon entering the store, the host that checks for membership IDs also distributes the shopping carts to each member which makes it very convenient and efficient entry. The store is well organized and the items that are on sale are prominently displayed. The alcohol offerings seems to be better in this location and they carry Kerrygold butter, but it's lacking in seafood options that are offered in other Costco stores I mentioned above. Because this location is less crowded, the lines are more efficient and the customers/cashiers seem less crotchety. Getting gas out here is also quick; there was almost no wait! Like others said, navigating the parking lot to leave feels like a difficult maze (especially in the evening when it's dark), but eventually you'll figure it out and it didn't hurt my shopping experience. read more

Who doesn't love Costco??? Visiting from out of town and holding onto an optometrist prescription for almost two years, I needed to find new prescription reading glasses as well as new sunglasses. Call me picky but I just could not find frames I really liked so the days turned into months of looking...and then they turned into almost two years! But my old glasses were from Costco and I had confidence and hope that Costco would 'save the day'. And, they did!! Frank helped me find just the right shape and size frame....honestly. Then, when I was looking for frames for new sunglasses, Frank again pointed me in the right direction! Additionally, I asked if my order could be rushed since I'm only in Chicago for another week. No guarantees but, ya never know. And, guess what! 1 pair of glasses was ready just 4 days later!! Yay! Today, I was able to pick up my sunglasses....less than 1 week from when I ordered my new glasses!!! Simone made all the adjustments to both my reading and sunglasses! Yay......happy girl here! And a big yay to Costco! They always deliver no matter what I buy! read more

My Costco: What can I say? I'm here a lot. FYI: Costco has a longstanding arrangement with the producers of FLU vaccine....so they often have it in stock before the other pharmacy chains. If you are paying a lot for prescription medication: You should really get a price quote from the Costco pharmacy. Some people say "oh I'm not paying for an annual membership" It doesn't take that long to recoup the membership price. Look at the parking lot: It's filled with quality cars. There is one older gentleman that works the food court register who is always surly and never very friendly. This review is about him. I don't quite understand why his demeanor is the way it is but after witnessing some of his antics today, I thought I should write something. The last few times I ordered a polish sausage and asked for sauerkraut, he has stared at me for a few seconds and rolled his eyes. Every time for no reason. Today I witnessed him being discourteous to a customer who had been waiting for her pizza order. He also started to raise his voice at another customer a few minutes later. The second customer just walked away and didn't order anything because of this. The majority of the employees here are friendly and helpful but I wish that attitude extended into the food court and this particular employee. The Glenview Costco is really nice. I live in Evanston and originally went to the other Costco in Niles (near Skokie) since it was closer to me. I was not impressed with my initial visit and made it a point to check out this Costco after my disappointing experience at the South location. With Glenview, not only do you get to drive through the quaint town of Glenview on the way there, but the parking lot is huge and the interior of the store is very pleasant to walk through. It's bright and well laid out, and the people shopping here are generally less pushy and it's less crowded. I love Costco and you can find some really good deals. Like other stores I've been to, the quality is high and the Kirkland generic Costco brand is surprisingly good. Even though I have to drive almost 50% further to get to this location, this is my go to Costco store. If you were like me and are deciding between the Niles location and Glenview location, look no further - this is the one to go to! read more

Alright, I have not been here for 4 months but there is a distinct memory of this particular Costco that makes it a 5 star location. It's not just because it's a Costco and all of us clones just love Costco but listen: So 5 days before Christmas, I was driving from Milwaukee to Illinois to pick up about 14 weeks of groceries for myself and a friend because we were staying at an Extended Stay hotel for work and one of our new hires was freaking out because her daughter wanted a pink Nintendo DS Lite and 5 days before Christmas, it was hard to find anywhere in the state of Wisconsin. Being the hopeful girl that I was, I thought I'd ring up the Costco as a Hail Mary-last moment-please please please have it-last resort. The first 3 that I called looked but sure enough, didn't have any. The Glenview Costco being miles away from Milwaukee was not my first choice of Costco to visit, but sure enough they had a single pink DS. So I begged and pleaded with this front end supervisor to hold this hot ticket commodity. I explained where I was coming from and how long it would take for me to drive through the snow from Milwaukee and he agreed. I bet he just wanted to see if I was bullshitting but I did it. I bought enough groceries to fill up the entire cart and the entire trunk of my HR and met him up at the front. When I told the cashier someone was holding a pink DS for me, she looked at me like I was crazy. It's a strict policy to not hold items for anyone-it's just how Costco runs but he made an exception. So along come this nice guy with the pink DS Lite in his hand with a note taped to it. "What's your name?" "I'm Jessica and this is my business card," showing him the business card with the Wisconsin address. "You seriously drove all the way down here for someone who's been working for you for 2 months?" I nod furiously, just inches away from that damn toy. He hands it over, shaking his head full of admiration and because of him, he made a little 12 year-old's Christmas. Miss Soulja herself came for a visit one day shortly after Christmas, Thank You card in hand and a hug. I love the people at his Costco-they're one of a kind. read more

I took my first trip to Costco last week and I was a bit overwhelmed. I knew they had lots of decent bulk stuff, but plasma tvs and a travel service? Whoa. I was starstruck. I admit it, I got a pair of black Dockers for work for like $19. So sue me. Plus I had the $1.50 hot dog/Diet Coke combo and it was a really big hot dog and free refills! You cannot beat a bargain like that, especially when you are super poor and starving and in on someone else's card. Other positives are the relatively worker-friendly corporate atmosphere (unlike Wal-Mart which violates workers' rights every day) which I know because my friend works there (not that that influenced the star rating) and the environmentally friendly no-bag thing. Props to Costco. Or perhaps I've been locked on the island of Manhattan, land of tiny stores, way too long. read more

So many of my friends wonder why I (single woman no kids...not really a cooker..not really a grocery shopper) would have a Costco card. Well to be honest I got the card for the gas BUT have been pleasantly surprised with the rest of the place. I don't buy a lot of items because buying in bulk doesn't really work for me and my family (see above). That being said I have gotten some great deals. I do love buck liquor and I love the fact that I can buy a new book for less than 20 bucks. Their rotisserie chicken salad is delicious oh and that rolling cooler that I bought has been the best purchase this summer. So, I get good deals on gas and am able to be pleasantly surprised by the rest. I think I may love Costco! read more
