Even though I live out on Schofield this is the first time I have been to this Costco for fuel. Usually I go to the one in Kapolei for shopping and fuel (much less crowded, much easier parking). But, I was nearly home and now that the Schofield gas at Foote gate is closed for renovations I gave it a go. I think they have nine lane and they were moving quickly. The attendant was hilarious and he agreed to a picture but said it had to be from the side. He wasn't ready for his full-on Yelp debut LoL! People were in and out, the pump areas were clean and we were out in a jiffy. This was a painless, easy experience and the price point was the best I have seen on island. Happiness is a tank full of gas that doesn't cost you to give up your road trip. I've stayed away from Costco gas as I'd use the same amount of gas saved just for the drive and wait time which was quite insane. Fast forward a couple of years ago when I got a Groupon opportunity to receive a huge discount on a club membership and having a new job near downtown made it only a few minutes drive made it much more convenient indeed! Now I do admit being grateful to make that early decision to have this way to save the line really isn't that bad depending on the time you decide to fill, weekdays (4:30am - 10:30pm) and weekends (4:30am - 8:30pm) so there's lots of time to fill up because I do love my car and a/c lol!! I'm shocked at the price increases but since I've only been filling up every three months I guess I shouldn't be. I'm a fan of Costco Gas Stations as we all know the savings are huge. If I had a bigger car I'd really be raking in the savings. If you go at non peak times it's a fast in and out....no so much before and after work or around lunch. Im glad this Costco location put in the extra set of pumps and the upper lights to let you know another car has moved away from a forward pump. If you don't catch it the pump assistant will wave you forward. They also put in a second entry for the people coming off Nimitz to enter instead of having to come from Dillingham. I don't go into the store anymore as I've been using instacart for my home shopping needs but going to or from town this is a convenient place to fill up. The gas station requires you wear a mask at all times and I have issues with the payment format but that me. This is a great way to fill your tank, save some money and move on to the next task. This location's gas prices are 5¢ a gallon more for regular or premium than at the Waipio or Kapolei locations. No clue why but it is. Not completely up to date It's your typical Costco gas station. Cheap prices includes long lines no matter what time you come in. This Costco station and SAM Club Gas station (I know you read that review) have one thing in common. They both do not accept digital cards. Unlike the Kapolei Costco where there's a scanner to read your phone, you have to get an attendant to slide their card into the pump for use. I have only used this Costco Gas Station a few times but both times it was a positive experience. The lines are not bad at all compared to other locations and moves pretty quickly. Today 4/22/20 regular gas was $2.29 per gallon and premium was $2.49, not sure when gas has been this cheap. The location is convenient, pretty much attached to the parking lot of the Costco which is nice. Today during this COVID19, the attendants were wiping down the pumps on a regular basis, that was nice to see. Costco is taking this pandemic seriously and as a customer we appreciate the attention to detail. If you use the Costco Citi Visa Card you get 4% back on your first $7000 which is a great deal. Thank you VERY MUCH Costco! It has been a long wait. Finally Ethanol FREE gas!! Good because: Ethanol is bad for your car (especially older engines). Ethanol is less energy dense, so worse mpg. Ethanol absorbs water, so your gas tank is more likely to rust on the inside. Ethanol only benefits corn farmers, since they receive govt. subsides. What we like about this Costco gasoline station are the multiple lines with at 2 gasoline pumps per line (yes, the Iwilei location has 3 pumps per line) and the lines seem to be better organized or move faster because this station shares the property as its Costco store. Today, the lines at around 1:25PM were virtually non-existent as we turned into the station and had our pick of all lines. Some of the gasoline pumps were being used while others were empty. We drove right into a lane with no one waiting and began filling up. Bottom line: CHEAP Gasoline and little to no wait time. If you happen to be out in the Waipio neighborhood, have a Costco membership and need inexpensive gasoline... you should go here. read more

I hear on the news that on Fridays they announce a random gas station location has a really good deal for the day. Wonder how that compares price wise to Costco. But for the time being, be prepared to wait with the rest of the cars in line so that you can self service and fill 'er up on your own. Helps to know which side of the pump you should line up for so you don't have to stretch that hose up and over to your gas tank. I never thought that typing a review for a gas station would be necessary until my recent experience. As a Costco member, I take full advantage of the benefits offered. After all, i purchase a yearly membership! Can't go wrong with cheap gas. The lines could be terrible at times when most people aren't at work but I found my best times to go with NO line. Credit card/Debit card accepted as long as you swipe your membership card or Costco credit card first, twice if you are paying with the Costco credit card.. Waipio has got to be my favorite location. A whole lot better than the Iwilei & Kapolei location. Seems like driving at least 2 feet forward at those locations will cause accidents. People crossing and aggressive cars zooming in and out, ugh it's such a mess. Ricky was such a sweetheart today! He was friendly and noticed I my prego belly. He insisted on pumping my gas! Never had such service like this before. We had a nice chat and then I was off to my next destination. He mentioned gas fumes aren't good for baby's brain cells and I agree. Like most places, Costco is the cheapest for gas. This particular one in Waipio is cheaper that the other Costco gas stations. It is always busy but the lines move fast and there is always an attendant for assistance if you need it. If you are in a rush, the best time to fill up on gas is right when they open early in the morning. Like most places, weekends here are very busy too. If you are stuck in a long line, roll down your windows and remember that you are in beautiful Hawaii and that you could pay a $1.00 more a gallon around the corner at the less crowded gas stations. Don't get me wrong, I love Costco gas and it's major savings! This is based on the covid rules and how they are implementing it. As we were waiting to fill up gas, we noticed a lady get out of her car, no mask, and fill up her tank. Looked like she didn't even think about wearing one. She leaves... the next guy pulls up and he too has no mask. I flag down the attendant and point to my mask that I am wearing and point to the guy. The attendant comes to me and apologizes saying that he cannot approach any members. Only if they ask for help, he can approach them. I was like, WHAT?! He apologized again and I told him that it is not his fault and I am not mad at him. While leaving the parking lot, I call Costco Waipio admin office and speak to another employee. I told him what happened and I asked him if masks are required. He said yes. Then why are they not saying anything? He said because "they don't want the situation to escalate"! I reviewed with him the state mandate and he agreed! I was lost for words. I also saw a Asian lady with a mask, face shield, gloves and using a plastic bag to touch the gas handle... extreme? The name says it all... Thus it's for Costco Members Only. If you do not have a Costco Card you are not filling up your tank. I would suggest going to pay the annual $50 and split it with someone since you get two cards. It is a great pass to have as you can get your supplies in bulk at the warehouse and then fill up your tank for cheap right in the same area. Win-Win Remember this is a no frills place. Just like you do not get asked paper or plastic in the warehouse, you do not get any window-washing squeegees, nor paper towels either. Get in, filler up and get going. Also, there is no 89 octane. It's either regular, or premium. Sometimes the lines can be long so I suggest you bring a buddy and drop them off at the snack bar and have them wait in line to get some food which is deals for those of you who are not in the know. Fill up your tank and pick them up or you can have them walk to the pumps. Hey after all you are their ride. For those of you who have to go to the pumps that is on the same side as your gas tank is on, the hose does reach to the other side so no worries. read more

As the gas prices start to inch upward, I think most of us are paying closer attention to where we are getting our gas. While not every Costco has a gas station, the Waipio location is my favorite of the options on the island. Usually if you aren't there are prime shopping time, it's only a few minutes to wait at Waipio to get to a pump. I know a lot of people don't like to wait, but when you are saving more than thirty cents per gallon of gas, I feel like that's usually time well spent. (The town location is usually outrageously packed with cars, with the line stretching down the street. That sort of wait is a bit much for me.) If the lines are too long, run into Costco for your groceries and try again when you get out. I've found that it's usually better to go to the far left or far right when getting gas, since cars tend to congregate in the middle for some reason. As a whole, I'm willing to go a bit out of my way to visit this location, since you can't beat the reasonable prices when compared with other local options. read more

Costco gas... love hate relationship bc lines are always so long!!!!! But lately it's been a must since it's usually at least 50 cents cheaper per gallon than the average gas station! I recommend going either really early or really late to beat the lines but even at that they still love relatively quickly. This morning I only waited less than 5 minutes even thought there were lots of full lines. Usually there's about 2 cars ahead of me (not including the two at the pumps).
