Two star for this place being closed for the past few days without posting signs to warn customers of its closure; actually made, they are employees there, but all the pumps are unavailable. Convenient centrally located gas station with some of the best prices of gas on the island, as of this writing unleaded was $2.39 a gallon and premium was $2.59. You must have a military active duty or retired I.D. card in order to buy gas here. The workers are good about checking I.D. so be sure you are carrying it when filling up. The pumps take all types of debit and credit cards whichisconvenient. I am not sure if they take cash, I have never tried to use cash at this location. I usually just gas and go. You can also fill up your propane tanks at this location. This is a great location and the only reason why I gave them 3 stars is because no explanation why they have been closed for three days now during this COVID19 pandamic, essential workers still need gas. Sign has no details when they will reopen. It is a self serve location and people can practice safe distancing while pumping gas. read more

Who doesn't like cheap gas? I'm pretty sure everyone loves cheap gas, especially here in Hawaii. Unfortunately, filling up your tank at the NEX gas station requires a military ID. While prices are comparable to Costco gas, you can't buy your way into the perks of the NEX like you can a Costco membership. Fortunately, I'm dating a vet. :P The best part? There is never a line! Well, in the couple times I've been here, I've never seen a line. Even if there were one, I highly doubt it would be even close to what the costco lines are like. We've even planned on going to costco for gas, saw the line and drove the extra mile or two to the NEX because it probably would have been faster. The second best part? You can use any major credit card. Costco is dingy in that they only take ATM or AMEX. My grandma has AMEX, I don't... so costco gas is the only place I ever use my ATM card. The NEX gas station isn't annoying like that and I can swipe away for points or miles or whatever my heart desires when we come here for gas. So, in conclusion, if you have a military ID, great for you! If you don't, make some military friends so they can buy you cheap gas! read more

Sorry folks, you need a military ID to take advantage of their cheap gas. Whenever I'm in the area and my tank is at least 1/2 empty, I'll make a pit stop here to filler up! The gas is always cheaper than the regular stations, and usually a cent or two cheaper than Costco. But here, you don't have to wait in ridiculously long lines. Most times I can drive right up to an available pump, although recently I've had to wait for at least one car to fill up. The only downside to this place is that the lanes aren't wide enough for you to drive around the person pumping gas in front of you. Have your military ID handy - they usually have an employee walking around checking for IDs. read more

Regular unleaded down to $3.87!!! Woohoo! :-) I love this location, it is convienent and quick. They have 12 pumps so the flow of cars goes quickly. This is for military only, meaning military ID check is 100% in check. Use your star card for an extra $.05 off per gallon. Watch for their specials as they sometimes make it $.15 off per gallon. They have free water and air stations. Also, they have a Redbox and a few other vending machines. read more

Yelp kept reminding me to write a review for the NEX Mall Gas Lanes and I thought "What can I possibly say about it that no one else has?" Not much has changed from the other reviews aside from rising gas costs. Boo! :( You have to have a military ID to pump here but the lines are never long and gas prices are comparable to Costco/Sam's Club. I like that I can get free air here instead of paying $1.25 for air! I just can't figure out why you have to pay for air. I don't think there are vending machines anymore as one day it looked like someone drove a truck through them :( I am pretty sure the RedBox is still there if you have the sudden urge to borrow a movie or two while pumping gas. If you have a military ID and not concerned about the brand of your gas, then this is a good place to fill up. Its convenient in location. Central area near the airport making its easy for me if I'm going to town from Central Oahu and vice versa, its "on my way." It's up the road from the NEX and close to Target area. They have multiple lanes available and the lines move fairly quick. I go in the mid day and afternoon and have never been waiting too long or have never had to wait to put gas. Doesn't get crazy like Costco! I don't really get into contact with the attendants except to show my ID, but I have overheard some conversations and must say that not all are very friendly. I heard one guy get sarcastic with a male patron and another guy lose his patience with two ladies on a simple question. Oh well, its not like you really need to talk to them. I get tired of people asking how much I pay for gas. Let me tell you a secret. I have know idea how much I pay for gas. I don't look, other than a glance just to make sure the price isn't "wrong" somehow. As long as it is near what I think everyone tells me they pay, I'm happy. Here's the thing. Gas is expensive. It is also needed if I want my car to move from place to place. I do want my car to move from place to place, therefore I pay whatever money they say I owe. If gas feels more expensive than normal, I still buy it, and then spend a week or so not going as many places. I like the NEX gas lanes because they are conveniently located and filled with workers who are actually there to help you. Unlike every other military gas station on this island, if I need help, I get help. More than anything else, though, I get a smile and a "Have a nice day!" Those matter more then a nickle up or down. read more

Military/DoD ID required. This place is so convenient. One way in and one way out. I've never ran into long lines like the ones in Costco so my stops here don't usually last more than 5 minutes. They also offer propane if you need to fill your propane tanks for a BBQ. They close at 11pm but they shut the propane service down at sundown. In addition, there are also snack vending machines, Redbox, and the usual air and water pumps. If paying cash, you have to pump first, then pay. So test out your "squeezing" accuracy skills and try not to end up with $20.01. Just in case, make sure you have a few extra change in your cup holder =o) read more

Ehh... Its, ok. Just look out because there is usually an attendant that comes around and checks to see if you have a military I.D. I noticed there are car cleaning stations that take coins, although i've never taken advantage of them, I usually go to the self clean service that is closer to the exchange, but ill save that for another review. All in all i think this is a well kept gas service station. They have propane as well. Decent gas prices cheaper than most places outside of base. Not normally very busy. read more

I drive a Mini Cooper S. "Wow! That car must be so fun to drive! You are so lucky!" Right? Um, well yes . . . but what you don't realize is as a sports performance car designed and built to take the autobahn at 70mph or more, it only takes premium unleaded. PREMIUM. FRAKKING. UNLEADED. I'm going to let that sink in for a moment. Are you horrified now? Yeah, well I've gotten over it. For the past five years I haven't paid much attention to gas prices as I am always going to end up paying the most expensive price. I come here when I can, and I will say this. The last time I went it wasn't just a few cents cheaper than 76 or Chevron. It was a whole quarter cheaper. When you have to fill up a 13 gallon tank (I know, small compared to an SUV, but huge if you have to go premium unleaded. I don't think I've ever spent less than $45 to fill up my tank from red light empty to full) that makes a pretty big difference. Take the Makalapa gate off Radford, make a right at the light, half mile later it will be on your right. Happy fueling. read more

I usually fill up on gas at Costco but I use NEX gas when I need to shop at commissary. The price is pretty much the same as Costco. There is never a long line. read more

Need Military ID or at least someone who has a military ID. Out of all the gas stations in the area I always head to this one (if my car can even make it.lol) Depending on what time you go it can be pretty busy ,but nothing compared to Costo Co lines. If anything the lines go quick. Another reason I'm a fan of this gas station is they sell windshield washer fluid here!(The simple stuff, not th done for the bugs that has a nasty smell) the kind I can't even find in the NEX. Plus its cheep to buy it here. Such a simple gesture as selling a certain product makes me happy. Plus they have a red box here too, which is rarely used so I can always guarantee of getting the new movie releases than any other red box in the area. read more

Wohooooo! Cheap gas (relatively speaking, of course!)!!!! There isn't much to say about this gas station. It is convenient (next to the NEX). It is clean. It is well lit. Staff is friendly. It has a Red Box (bonus points for that)...and the gas is cheap! Whenever I am in the area and need gas this is where I go. You should too...but only if you have a military ID. They do 100% ID check and you can't get gas if you don't have one. read more

Lots of pumps. Gas price is for regular unleaded is usually about ten cents cheaper than elsewhere. Amount of pumps and prices can be comparable to Costco in town. They also sell propane and soft drinks. 100 percent ID check. I don't think they're open on federal holidays. read more

Of course I love this gas station! Convenient for people working or living in the military community AND prices are lower than others. Unfortunately, you do need a military ID to purchase gas from here. The reason why I have to knock one star is because I found out that SOMETIMES the Costco gas station is actually a few cents cheaper. read more

Convenient location when I'm in the NEX/Salt Lake area. Prices are not significantly different from the membership gas stations. They also have a propane gas tank filling station and a rental video kiosk. Must have valid military ID card. read more

If you're military and you're just looking for cheap gas, here's where it is! SUPER conveniently located near the NEX and right next door to a Navy Fed, I'm here all the time. There is not a convenience store here, but there are a few vending machines, including a Redbox, and free air for your tires! The workers are almost always in great moods, and while the lines can get a little long at times, there are SO many pumps I'm never waiting behind more than 2 cars. read more

Needed gas before heading home from work since I was on empty. I checked online to see if the gas station was still open and it said open until 10. I drive over just to see all the lanes with cones in front of them at 929pm. The lady working then tells me they are closed because the hours changed and to go down to chevron. Disappointed in customer service. Closed 10 minutes early than advertised for maintenance at 8am on a Wednesday morning. The man didn't even have the decency to tell me as I waited in line for a pump. He plopped a cone down in front of my car....that was his way of telling me. Just got gas and nobody cared to check my ID. Went over to the cashier who looked absolutely miserable to working and said 3 people called out today. Instead of sitting in the booth, walk out and check ID's and if someone needs to pay by cash, go back inside the booth. Halsey is having the same issue and I am so sick and tired of it. Nobody but military should be able to get gas at these stations. Period. read more
