I love shopping at Costco, always have. But the employees here are very rude. I remember the staff was always so upbeat and friendly. They were helpful and really took that extra step to ensure a quality experience. But now.. Oh how the times have changed. I get eye rolls and resting B face from the workers. Everyone is so miserable and blatant about it. It's like these masks they're hiding behind have also taken away their spark for customer service. No one makes eye contact, everyone is staring down at the ground avoiding the customers. As if to say "I know I work here but don't approach me." I always see the women on the front end in red vests just gabbing about their kids or their hair products. They always avoid helping people, I've noticed. But I asked for help finding something and I got an irritated sigh and it's right there! As the tatted up blond with a wrist brace growls. Also 9/10 I have to unload and box all my groceries. Years back you had fast efficient staff who would do this.. Apparently that's out of the question now. Or the short middle aged brunette with curly hair and thick glasses, squeaky voice, who checks your receipt. Well she's fake nice lol. Rolls her eyes and puts on her plastic smile that never reaches her eyes. She was very rude to a younger employee who was working much faster than her. She kept shooting daggers at her as she was processing customers at a much faster rate. I can't stand people being blatantly disrespectful. I guess I'll just shop online, I don't see the point of going in anymore it's just toxic. Amazon and Walmart are cheaper btw. read more

Costco here on Hamrick is ok! Nothing like Hawaii! I miss my poke and seafood!! But glad they have a food court. No chocolate macadamia nuts or taro chips! Bwahahah! But thank God they have Kikkoman soy sauce and Hinode rice (nope not the 50lb bag, just the 20lb I think). They also have the mochi ice cream, frozen edamame which we love! Overall, this Costco will do. Moving here from paradise is a big difference but looking forward our life in Southern Oregon!! read more

Was happy to see selfcheck, especially when you have only one or two items, But the staff they have working that area is terrible!!!! Absolutely rude, yanked my husband card out of his hand like he didn't know what he was doing and made a sarcastic comment. Was hoping this was a one time thing since we have never had this kind of experience here and maybe she was having a bad day. Nope, go in again and they are checking cards, no big deal, it's my card. While checking out the employee comes up and asks if someone checked my card, I said yes. She then proceeds to go on a rant about people using other peoples cards and I say well this my card. Last year when we were up this way we learned that Costco was moving from Medford to Central Point. We always make a stop at Costco when we're here and we needed gas, so that was part of our plan for today. Last night as I was going to sleep I remembered they'd moved, so this morning I looked up the address and Nina put it in her phone. After breakfast at The Breadboard we picked up our theatre tickets at the box office and headed for Costco. We gassed up the car and then found parking near the warehouse entrance. We each had things we were looking for. I found one of them and at least two other things that sounded intriguing. The warehouse is huge and new and the people working there were helpful. Nina didn't find what she was looking for this time but we both had a good time looking at what they did have. read more

This is the best Costco I've been to. The people who work here aren't all grumpy old people who hate their jobs. Every time we go to check out, it's always a younger person closer to my age, with a pleasant attitude, and great humor, and are always willing to help us out when we forgot to grab something, or ended up accidentally grabbing something we didn't want/need, etc. The checkout lines are always SO SPEEDY TOO. Almost too speedy. I put my stuff on the belt when there are two people ahead of me, and by the time I turn around again with my wallet in hand, it's my turn. The sample ladies are always so nice too. Which of course is the best part of a Costco trip, right??? Even walking around down the aisles, the ones stocking shelves and such are nice and offer to help get things for us. I have been a long time member of Costco. Yesterday I went to get some food. When at the register I was told that my membership expired that day. I was told that I needed to pay for the membership right there. I didn't have the money for food and membership at the same time. I told the cashier that I was unable to do it. She said that she could get manager approval to allow me to buy my food and pay for the membership in a few days. The cashier sent her helper to get the manager. I could hear the manager say from a good distance away "tell him to pay today or we will not sell him anything". This is in front of many members who were all watching the commotion. The manager walked up to the register and said to me " you're renewing that today". I told him that I was not able to. The cashier that was standing next to him asked for an override. The manager refused. He replied that he's not doing that anymore, people take advantage. The manager looked at me and said "I'm voiding your transaction". It was embarrassing and rude. I left Costco wondering what had become of Costco. Are they hurting that bad financially that they are willing to embarrass their members? You would hope that with everything going on around the country they'd be a little more understanding. Again my membership expired that day, not months or years ago. read more

Ive been a Costco shopper for over 15 years. There was an issue with my card, so i had to go through the sign up process again. First time they asked me 5 times to join as an executive member or some such thing. I asked over and over to just sign me up and stop trying to up sell me. Their computers crashed and i had to come back days later. Second time the woman tried to up sell me. I interrupted her and asked her to just sign me up. She became very short with me and asked questions with the intention of talking me into buying a more expensive thing. You own a business, you need a...... Please. Just finish this process. Finally after it was all done, she tossed my card at me and told me "i cant say it was a pleasure". Her name was Debbie. She was pretty rude to a customer who spends enough every year to warrant a more expensive membership. Pretty poor customer service in my opinion. read more

The new Costco in Central Point is awesome!! The parking lot is huge- I pulled right in and got a parking space easily. The warehouse is like the Costco's in Portland but of course all fresh and new. The shopping carts are bigger and it makes it easier than a flatbed cart for heavy items. The layout is easy to navigate and departments are all marked. We have all walk in produce and walk in dairy case. The wine selection is amazing. Costco has been my favorite store for years. I've had my membership since 1987 and I use Costco for tons of things. Prescriptions are always cheaper here and my prescription glasses are top quality as well. I love the fresh salmon and I buy it weekly. The selections are vast of so many items- appliances, clothes, toys, home decor, automotive, food, vitamins and so so much more. I don't understand people who say Costco is only for big families- I guess you just have to know how to make Costco work for your family and I find it's just the best quality I can get in almost everything. If you don't know about the great deals you can get on tires, you should check out Costco for that too. I bought 80,000 mile Michelin tires - set of 4 this summer for 390$ on sale- the same quality tire was quoted at $630 from my old place I used to buy from at L. Schwab. The tires are awesome. (Yes I bought them at the old warehouse but so many don't know about the deals we can get on tires) I'm thrilled we have a real city sized Costco now! read more

I went to Costco to fuel up my pick-up, it was approximately 9:30 in the morning business was light only had to wait a few minutes to pull up to the pump( since it's Oregon they have to fuel vehicle) the guy comes up and I give him my card an request it to be filled with regular, he runs the card and gives it back to me and , I thought he started the pump, a few minutes later he pulls the nozzle out of the truck indicating it was full and did I want a receipt and I replied no, I started my truck, mind you this is a 1997 ford f150 so the gas gauge is slow, I drove off thinking that it was sure taking the gauge a long time to register, drove from eagle point to so. Medford still had not moved , stopped at another gas station and asked for it to be filled thinking it would take about a gallon of fuel, it took 12 gallons, the guy at Costco never turned on the fuel to fill my truck, the people there are total AH, this is not first time I've had issues but it will be last.,I do know quite a few people that won't go there . read more

BAKERY department downhill fall! After 2 years of Costco baking birthday cakes for my 2 boys my wife and I were told that it's against a state law to "place" an edible cake topper top of it. Years of doing it, and have his associates tell us "it's the new managers rule" speaks volumes about the culture as well. I really want to thank this Costco for opening up earlier for senior citizens and the handicapped during this virus crisis. It worked very smoothly, I didn't have to try to run to get what I needed and at that time of day, the store was fully stocked. They lined us up in the order of arrival and sent us out into the store in the same order. I was able to get what I needed and was out of the store in 45 minutes. I enjoy going and people are nice but I am on chemo, caring for husband after his shoulder surgery, and have low immunity, so it makes me nervous now because I will likely wind up in a hospital hallway or morgue if I get a covid variant from all the unmasked or semi-masked folks. So can't shop there much anymore. I can still hike & work but have a lung cond also; I'm 69 and want to be around a while longer. read more

New location is really nice. The parking lot setup is a lot nicer than the previous location. Parking lot spacing and layout seem a lot safer.The gas station is about twice the size. Very little wait. Interior also might be bigger as well. As always customer service is excellent. Although I must say trying to leave is a bit difficult. Unless you intend to turn right and go into town on Table Rock it can be a bit of a wait to make a left hand turn leaving the entrance due to traffic. There is a rumor that they might be putting a light there which I believe would make it a lot safer. read more

Little by little we are not liking Costco. First they moved earlier this year making it harder and further away for us to get to. Then too they are not stocking the things we originally started shopping for there. A lot of the things we were looking to buy in Costco didn't measure up to our expectations of quality, so we purchased them elsewhere. We gave up on the fruit because either it we found rotten ones in the packaging or the 'ripe' fruit went bad before it ripened because it was picked too soon. We were going to cancel our membership renewal this year but went ahead and paid, but 2018-2019 will probably be our last year of membership. read more

I have to update after my trip today. I had just gotten out of the check out line and I felt my small diamond bracelet snag on something I put in the cart and fall off. I thought it was lost and was devastated (sentimental gift). Raina and another woman helped me for probably 20 minutes take everything t out of my cart, looking all around the area. We were unsuccessful so I wrote down my information, when Joshua came and asked to help go through my cart again. After anther 10 minutes WE FOUND IT tangled in the cart. They didn't have to, but they really cared, and went above and beyond to help me. I am really grateful and they deserve a raise. read more

My daughter came from out of town and we were so excited to go to Costco I paid for her food and sweaters it came to 129.00 for my daughters order that did not have alcohol in it!!!!!and was refused service to buy two bottles of wine with my 300,00 dollar order. I'm 57 and have the membership. my daughter did not even put my wine on the belt and employee refused to sale me the wine because my daughter did not have her ID. I said the wine is mine and paid for both orders. the sales rep checked with the manager and said I could not buy it! I feel like this was discrimination. my daughter never touched the wine or stepped in front of the register to pay, in fact her order was first without alcohol. I was denied buying wine because my daughter is with me? the cashier argued with me and I said over and over this is my order. my daughter offered to show them her passport on her phone and they still denied me at the register paying! called manager when I got home and he said he would investigate it. heartbroken! read more

I never really liked Costco.. the store is too big and none of the isles are labeled. Can never find anything I'm looking for. I bought a spice rack from them ($25), and accidentally left it under my cart. Drove 30min home just to realize what I did. I called the next day (Sunday), because they were already closed, to ask them if I could come get another one. I got an office lady (who I explained the situation to) 3 times (from being on hold) before customer service was able to take my call. The guy at customer service said of course I can come replace it. Okay great.. however, I couldn't make it there that day because my boyfriend wasn't off work until 7:30 with the car. So I told him I'd be coming tomorrow (Monday) after work (around 4).. but I didn't catch his name. So I drive all the way back out there to get my spice rack, only to wait 20 minutes, have the guy tell me to go shopping while I wait, then have them Print out a picture of me leaving the store with my items and spice rack under my cart, and have them tell me "sorry, it left our store and no one turned it in so we can't help you. And you didn't get the guys name who you talked to yesterday." Really?! I JUST spent $120 on a membership! Awful customer service! I think they were being discriminatory against my pajama clothing! read more

The only reason this costco is successful is because it is the only one within a 50 mile radius. It has TERRIBLE customer service, especially at the return counter from one specific old, ugly man i see every single time. I'll get his name and post it here next time. He is very loud, is easily irritated, and does not allow many returns to be processed when by company policy, they are acceptable. we come over from the coast regularly to visit our medical specialists and stop at costco to do some shopping. today was our first time at the new location. parking was good, there's more seating at the food court, the whole facility seems more spacious. but the operation of the food court needs some work. hubby and i had a hot dog and polish dog respectively. the dogs were barely warm, the buns were cold. one of the chopped onion dispensers was inoperable, and one of the ice dispenser at the soda fountain was out of order. REALLLY???!!! on the monday before christmas, when some people are just getting started, or are finishing up their shopping?? i'm certainly hoping this isn't the new 'normal.' we'll be back again, and we might even have a dog again...just to see. read more
