Worst experience ever, lady at the front was not checking no one card only when a young lady wanted to shop that's when she wanted to start working. On top of that she had the nerve to yank my cart, like she bought the cart. Even after I tried telling her to hold on. She then let more than 10 people walk without checking the Costco card. This is the second time we encounter this unpleasant shopping experience at Costco at 805 Lighthouse Drive. Our whole house still has the aroma of the bad Chilean sea bass we purchased on August 12. I took it out of the package and I was going to marinate last night. The smell was so bad from the opening the fish wrapping up that my husband in another room immediately said "What is that horrific stench?" I just took back some bad halibut bought on June 21. The lamb was not fresh either from that purchase time, but I did not bother to ask for refund. The manager who dealt with it accused me that I did not use a cooler which is the reason caused the stuff I bought had gone bad. I totally disagree with him. I always use thermal bags in an air-conditioned cool car for a short less than a 20 minutes drive to my house. Other foods bought at the same time, including salmon, did not have any issues. Actually salmon is one of my "go-to" items from Costco. Instead of blaming me, perhaps you should review your procedures for keeping fresh from the producer, trucking, and storage at your facilities. Even the producer can be at fault. Not little 'o me. We have been loyal members of Costco over 10 years and we don't deserve this. I get most of my groceries from Costco because I trusted the quality you offered. It really discourages me after these last two times of having the bad shopping experience. Please put more effort in quality control otherwise you will lose customers like us. read more

Worst Costco I've ever been too. Galena is the rudest Costco employee I have ever encountered in all my years going to Costco. 6/11 She screamed at me for not showing my membership card to her as I went to member services (you don't need to show your card to go in that door when you make a return or go to the food court) I reported her. I came back to shop on 7/10, she was at the door- I confronted her and explained how her behavior was uncalled for an she owed me an apology, she laughed, dismissed me, told me I was rude and argued with me and then moved onto the next customer. I turned around and returned all $300 items I just bought. Desmond- he's unfriendly, rude, horrible demeanor and I've never seen someone inspect an unopened box of crackers for 60 seconds in my life. He's declined to a return a couple things, when Costco has the best return policy ever and they were unopened! Tim- my mother has a service animal. This is the ONLY business in Florida that questions your disability and ask questions that violate HIPPA and are none of their business. They should be fined for this. read more

Fast gas pumps with three stations per row. It's a bit hard to get to off the interstate but overall a great addition to the area. The store looks new but I didn't have a chance to drop inside. read more

One of my favorite Costco locations! Been coming here since they opened in Fall 2019, even came on the grand opening day. Nice selection, great seasonal products and extremely clean and great welcoming employees. Has a gas station with great prices and completely worth the $60 annual fee. read more

This Costco is fantastic. Well stocked. Parking lot is not too crazy. Gas lines can be crazy at time you just have to know how to work it. I'd like to go about an hour before closing everything is getting stocked for tomorrow and not too many people are in there. Definitely nice to have in the neighborhood. If I were rating only the tire shop, it would be a zero. The rest of the Costco operates as a Costco should. The tire shop on the other hand has a serious talent void some days. Tires may be cheaper here but it is absolutely not worth the attitude. I ordered tires online then tried to have them installed - options by appointment or....as the website states...walk in. I simply asked if walk in was an option prior to my appointment and you'd thought I'd asked for their first born. When I showed up 45 minutes prior to my appointment I was chastised. Could be a sign of the times - nobody wants to do their job? I think that and then some. read more

Just got back. floors had been sealed and the place smelled like a toxic dump. Can't be healthy, but what miffed me was as I was waiting to self checkout an employee comes up and asks to see my card. I showed it to her and then she asked for my drivers license. I showed her and she said well they have problems with people using other peoples cards. Walking up to the store I didn't have my mask on and was already being yelled at by the ladies at the front door. I said I wanted to join so she told me to go into another door. I started walking and she was still yelling at me and I'm still outside. Please calm down. I put the mask on and went to customer service to purchase a membership. The man was very rude at the desk. I didn't want to purchase the $120 membership but he was being extremely pushy. I insisted that I only wanted the $60 membership and he was clearly annoyed by that. The front lady card checking person is quite the Karen and bob the assistant manager is very rude and disrespectful. Thinks he's above the customer and looks for problems rather than solutions. I've heard it from the neighboring subdivisions that the Costco at this location was horrible but I couldn't believe how accurate they were with their service description. I will never come back to this pharmacy. The pharmacist Kate F is absolutely horrible. She treated me like I am beneath her, & she laughed at me when it was clear I was ready to cry because all I needed was my medication. I've been on the same med for 20 years and she gave me a hard time filling it. You would think it was a narcotic or something!! The script was from my doctor, again a med I've been on 20 YEARS now, NOT a controlled substance by any means.... and she thought she had a better idea and called me and recommended I switch to a different medication that's hundreds of dollars!! My review today is NOT about the wonderful selection of items or the mostly low prices, location, the other employees, or even their decor. It's about someone in management and the complete lack of customer care. First off my wife drove from the Brandon store to the Bradenton store to buy a dining room table because the floor model and last one at the Brandon store had just sold and was marked down to 630$. She decided what the hell I'll call Bradenton and see if they have it there, well sure enough they did and coincidentally it was the last one being the floor model. My wife called and they said come in and the manager will most likely give you a discount, but you have to be here in person. She gets there and sees there's a chair missing and one chair is damaged, no big deal. Anyway, a manager comes out and assesses the situation, and apologizes and tells her that the chair was broken by a driver and he takes a picture of the damaged chair. He then goes off to talk to someone higher up about what kind of discount they can do, knowing that Brandon sold theirs for $630. Meanwhile, my wife is thinking he'll surly at least match the price of 630$ from the Brandon store. No, they only allow him to mark it down to 650$ minus a chair and one damaged. We really wanted this table, he knew and could have at least matched the Brandon stores price but they actually wanted $20 more. I know $20 isn't much, but the Brandon table had all 6 chairs and no visible damage that we saw, and it was cheaper. So we refused to pay more for less. I can guarantee you, we will most likely never drive south to go to Costco again, unless its to the one in Sarasota. read more

Our washing machine for a family of 7 broke. We shopped HD and Lowe's Previous unit came from Lowe's and the warrantey expired a year ago. Remembering my Brother's strong recommendations to vist Costco for major appliances. We visit Costco, reviewed the options, won the discussion purchase the new washer from Costco. The main reasons, delivery date & availability. We purchased the unit online ( only option for large appliances) and confirmed the delivery date. The day before the delivery date I receive an email with delivery time 7am to 9pm WITH TRACKING NUMBER. So we cancel our plans to receive and do some laundry. That morning we received a phone call from an unknown number. didn't leave a message. Then we received another email saying it WILL ARRIVE between 5:15pm and 6:15pm. Now I'm thinking the unknown number must be the delivery guys! So I call the number, long hold but that's ok. It's Costco informing the machine won't be delivered and it MIGHT not arrive for another 4-5 days...asking if I accept the new delivery date? So I asked to speak to customer service, 11 mins on hold. So I went to the store and spoke to manager and explained that Costco sent me an email with tracking confirmation with delivery time. Also that they said the future delivery date was not guaranteed. He said, sorry, called someone who told him there is currently 2 hour hold time for speaking with someone. He also noted my experience was not uncommon, happens all the time. I asked if upper management is aware that Costco is making promises that they CAN NOT delivery on? He said they know. I ask for the GM's email. He provided with caution that it's not going any further than the phone call he made. I think Costco could have handled this better. I'd love to hear, sorry Mr. Customer, we should NOT have sent you a confirmation with tracking , delivery date and times. We DID NOT deliver as promised. You have been inconvenienced and we are going to make this right because we have a good reputation to keep. Instead I got a sorry and good luck. I wonder how Amazon or Lowes would have handled this? I understand labor is a major issue for everyone who's running a business. But don't make promises you can keep and if you drop the ball... Make it right. read more
