So, I love Costco--even though it's always packed! Lately, I've been figuring out the best days and times to go to avoid the crowd (but that's a conversation for another day). Today, I'm here to talk about the mini food court, specifically... the pizza! Whenever I go to Costco--which isn't super often, but definitely more than in previous years--I always grab two slices of pepperoni pizza. The food is always consistent, reasonably priced, and honestly, two slices can last me for a couple of days. The slices are huge, and there's no way I can eat both in one sitting. I usually cut them in half and warm up half a slice at a time. I especially like the Cumberland location--the staff is friendly, the service is quick, and even though it's busy, I've figured out how to dodge the rush. I highly recommend the pizza. How can one not love Costco and all of its greatness?! The store itself is great, but this review is more about the food court tbqh. In a household of 2 (and a dog), we don't shop at Costco often beyond a few household needs, but when we do there are some great options. I usually like to buy items such as toilet paper, paper towels and drinks here, but find that my shopping experiences are a bit limited. When I do visit, it's usually for the food court. Greedy? Perhaps. It wouldn't be the first time that I've been called that and in this food court, it's quite true. As much as I consider myself a foodie with a 'fine palate', I will never turn down a piece of pizza and/or (hopefully both) a hot dog, okay? And with the insanely well-priced menu available at the Costco food court, I always want both. You can go in there with $10 and feed 5 people, I swear! Like Jesus and those 7 loaves of bread and pieces of fish okay? This Costco offers self-order stations which made it super smooth. I was feeling like a baller and decided, why the hell not? Let's ball out. I opted for a slice of pepperoni pizza, a hot dog and a drink. I think I paid $4. FOUR DOLLARS USD. Unbelievable. As I waited for my food I took a seat close to the window that showcased some of the hot food and pretty much drooled while I sat. It was calling my name! Less than 10 minutes later, my number was called out and my food ready for pickup. I am trying to limit my caffeine so I only had the option of Mountain Dew or Starry (or both? Totally don't remember) and it was obvious that they needed to be refilled based on how they were coming out and how it almost tasted like water - yuck. It was a sign that I shouldn't be drinking soda. But my food?! Exceptional. The pizza slices are huge and so flavorful. Perfectly greasy, topped with tons of cheese and toppings - yumm! The hot dogs are huge and when topped with your fave ingredients (I like mine with ketchup, mustard, and relish), they always hit the spot. I considered taking my food to the car but, nope. I decided to sit right down at a table and dig in as I browsed on my phone a bit. Each bite was better than the last, especially at the price I paid. Saddens me to lower my ratings for Costco as a long time customer. Last couple of years, their service level declined while they increased the membership fees. I've been an executive member for decades and it's $120/yr now. While I appreciate some new items towards healthier foods, much of their merchandise quality have declined. It's unrealistic to expect the retailer to quality check everything they sell. However, I do expect what they sell are real / authentic AND their merchants to manage manufacturers / suppliers to at least an average quality. Today, I returned a jar of local honey I bought a couple of days ago after determining that it's highly likely it's NOT pure raw honey as advertised. With more allergies this season, I bought a jar of local (Georgia Honey Farm, a woman owned business) raw honey to boost my immune system. When I got home, I tested it for its purity. It failed not one but several tests...the water (see my pic), match stick, microwave/stove top and heated stainless steel tests. Disappointing that Costco is selling honey that is not as advertised! Honey is one of the most faked foods in the world. It's a simple math...there's more honey on shelves than the amount possible for bees to make. It's bad enough I was sold a fake product and took additional time to return this fake-honey, but the customer service was despicable! I notified the associate processing my return of, the item not being authentic honey and Costco should consider taking it off the shelf. Next thing I know is that her manager came over with hostility stating "we're not going to take it off the shelf because one customer didn't like it". Fair enough, but I didn't say I did not like it! I said, it's a fake product! I do NOT expect this associate nor store associates to have that level of authority. I DO expect the store associates to forward their customer feedback to the store manager to notify relevant regional and/or corporate units responsible for merchandising. Apparently, this supervisor wants to continue to sell fake items and put words in my mouth. Her approach was entirely dismissive and hostile. In the least, they should flag it and request a review rather than continuing to sell a known / suspected fake-honey. After all, it's in Costco's interest to listen to its customers and maintain their branding. Not so much today...hopefully it's just these 2 people rather than the store, regional and corporate practice. It is a failure on multiple levels including not educating their associates on appropriate costumer service periodt! No good deed... In case y'all are interested, here's how you tell honey Is pure. A drop of pure honey on your thumb will stay in one place. A drop of pure honey placed in a glass of water will drop to the bottom and will not dissolve. A matchstick dipped in pure honey will still be able to ignite when struck. When mixed with a few drops of vinegar essence, pure honey will not foam. When heated on a stove top / microwave, pure honey will caramelize quickly and it will not foam up. Pure honey tends to crystalize over time. read more

Our visit this morning the day after Thanksgiving seems like the cashier was not happy having to work I suspect but angry cashier Kendra at the Stockbridge location was not what we usually see at this location. As we got the register I started to put items on the conveyor belt. She proceeded to tell me to put items down and leave it in the cart. When I tried to explain that last time I pulled the light stuff " she cut me off and said to leave it" I replied with ok not going to argue with you I'm good . I enjoy going to this Costco at Cumberland Mall because the store is easy to navigate through to get my items. The staff is always very helpful and friendly despite the short staid and overwhelming crowds. Unfortunately, I've seen a reduction in health foods such as mixed greens and flax seeds. Never had I ever been embarrassed shopping at Costco. My family been a member here since 1999. This is the second encounter that I had with them at this same location. First time was racist profiling and now being disrespected by the lady name Tammi at the exit door. She check my items, which is fine cause it's her job. She said that I had 17 items but I paid for only 16. I took the initiative of counting it over and she yelled at me across from the exit door saying the I can't recount and I have to go to the supervisor. That's when I got really embarrassed and told her that I am a paying customer and no need to yell at me in front of all the customers and employees that work there. Not only that after all this. It turn out there's only 16 items not 17 she miscounted. It's very unfortunate that someone like that work in customer service, yelling and embarrassed paying customers. Costco has a lot to offer for locals at the Cumberland area. The gas alone is the best deal around town. But it's the fresh produce, meats, and frozen foods that keep me coming back. If you are hungry, can't beat the $1.50 hot dog and soda. I'm the hot dog franks are advertised as 100 percent all beef. And they are really tasty. Parking can be a slog especially on busy days like Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If you can't swing it during a Wednesday or Thursday, I've had good success getting in and out. read more

Ah Costco...I hate to love you, but loving you feels so good! This location of Costco is right beside Cumberland Mall, actually shares the parking lot with one entrance of the mall. Given it's location you can imagine that parking is not an issue. If the lot is ever close to capacity in front of the the store, which can happen, you can go right around the corner to the multi-level parking garage. Given its location in the middle of the busiest part of Smyrna, you have to plan your visits carefully...because if you don't be prepared to wait in lines at the door, in the aisles, at check out and to exit! I mean, you are gonna have to wait during any visit, but there are times where that wait is far less than other times. If you are hitting Costco on a weekend, I advise you to do it at opening, like on the dot of opening! If it is a weekday trip, you are usually solid with a midday trip. These are my two sweet spots to avoid massive crowds and crazy waits. Service wise, this Costco has some very helpful and friendly associates. From the greeting upon entry to the assistance in the aisles all the way to the speedy and nice check out clerks, I have never had a a bad experience service wise at this location. While I always hit Costco for a plethora of items, my go-to's are always the snacks, cheeses, frozen veggies, wine and spices! Of course, I take advantage of the rotisserie chickens every time as well...I mean, the price has legit never changed, so why not scoop one up for dinner! Additionally, I am becoming increasing impressed with their pharmacy/personal health items that are definitely priced well! Outside of the stuff in the store, the Food Court is where it's at too! I sometimes venture in just for a slice of pizza or a chicken bake (which is my favorite!). I mean, hot dogs are quite tasty and cheap...as is all the items. Nothing on the menu is over $5, so bring a date...three course meal for less than $15? Yes please! In addition to the store, this location has a good sized fuel center...but again, be prepared to wait. Difference with the fuel center is there is never a good time here, you just gotta be in it to win it and wait for that sweet discounted gas! Very disappointed with the girl that answered for the tire center today at about 2:30pm. Noticed a slow leak and called in. Asked if they had any tire services as I was visiting the area and she said "If you mean fixing flats, yes". Then I asked how much and she said "11.95" and I asked how it looked in terms of scheduling or do I need to come in and wait, and she just rudely told me I could do either and they were booked through Saturday. Obviously, people don't plan on getting leaks/flats, but don't be so rude when talking to people, either. Whomever this person was, needs to learn how to speak to people, politely. read more

What's not to love about this store? I don't shop here often since I am only responsible for care of myself. However, when I do, I always have an enjoyable experience. During my most recent visit I went around 5pm and had the pleasure of sampling several items. They were even doing a demo for Vitamix! I am a huge believer in advertisement through sampling. Costco has nailed the process down. You try something and end up buying what you did not even know you wanted or needed. The store is always clean and seems to always have sufficient staff and products. More often than not, you find that the products for sale are a great value. For example, I found some amazing grain free granola bars for 16 bucks for 13 bars. The exact same product is on sale at amazon for $25! I LOVE Costco... I live nearby and I'm in this location once or twice a week. BUT!! Discount Tire surpassed Costco's Tire Center customer service by far. I stopped in Costco due to my run flat tire issue...the service guy only provided information for purchasing a new tire instead of the expertise on what I can do with the existing tire because Costco does not work with Goodyear tires. After being handed the piece of paper with the cost of the tires...I headed 1 mile away to Discount Tire... the guy visually checked and got on his knees and looked under... it was close to the end of the day...so at least Discount Tire topped it off with air because it was visibly low and made my appointment for first thing the next morning... TURNS OUT, I did not need a new tire after all... Almost money wasted at Costco on tires that are $265.00 each for my vehicle. read more

Sorry pros and cons and pros definitely outweigh the cons but the last three times I've come there has not been any carts. So I'm not sure if they need to hire but as we know everyone needs a cart usually to go in Costco! Outside of this and maybe more cashiers we know that Costco has the best bang for the buck and great quality for low prices! So yes I'll keep shopping there but hopefully they'll see this and work on getting those cars rounded up more often. I'm not sure if they're under new management or what's going on because I've been coming here a while and this problem seems to be pretty recent! I'm an unashamed Costco fanatic. I love being a member. I love the quality and variety of goods, the quality of the meats and wines, coffee, cheeses, bakery gods, and produce. We do A LOT of shopping at Costco, and I think we got a lot more bang (quality and savings) for our bucks. We've also started doing a better job of taking advantage of Costco partner benefits , such as cell phone and cable television services. This has resulted in cost-savings. Though our biggest cost-savings has been Costco gas. I live westside ITP, and the Cumberland Costco is my closest location. We will drive the extra miles just to fill up here, because it's still so much cheaper to travel than to fill up locally. I think I'll be a member forever. read more

Costco, you are my favorite wholesale market and the Cumberland location is pretty darn great. My only gripe is parking, but being within such close proximity to Cumberland Mall it's to be expected. I typically am able to find a place to park during the week with no issue, but I try to completely avoid Costco on the weekend. The staff here is uber friendly and always willing to help. You always get a warm welcome with a flash of your membership carb upon entry. There are tons of samples to be had and the attendants are typically knowledgeable and excited about their products on display. I am a fan of the savings and the value of the Kirkland brand items including olive oil, bacon and peanut butter. And do not miss the $5 rotisserie chicken. They are delicious and you cannot beat that price! I also find myself buying the Kirkland brand prosecco for mimosas! Speaking of wine... their buyer/wine expert has an extensive amount of knowledge about the wines they bring in. If you're unsure what to try, just let the gentleman know what you typically enjoy and he can point you in the right direction. Their prices are usually a few bucks lower than what I've found at the grocery and other beverage stores. But, as with a lot of great deals, they don't last forever. So if you find something you really like, don't wait to go back and buy up some more! Their selection changes regularly. The meat selection is definitely where you get a lot of the savings. I typically buy chicken breast and ground turkey to freeze. I already mentioned the $5 rotisserie chicken but you can find a ton of deals in the meat section! Apparently paper products are the biggest way to save at wholesale stores like Costco. 30 rolls of toilet paper and 12 rolls of paper towels both sell for less than $20 when you buy the Kirkland brand. The gas station on-site is a great plus! It's typically at least ~$0.05 cheaper than other local gas stations. Get that discount, ya'll! I would be remiss if I didn't mention my love for a cheap Costco hot dog - such a cheap but delicious treat that comes with a fountain drink for $1.50. I've never had any issues here. The parking lot can get a little crazy but even on the busier days I've never had to wait a ridiculous amount of time to check out. My only complaint is when they get rid of things you love! Most recently I needed more apple cider vinegar and they sold them in a 3 pack..no more! The woman I asked said they stopped selling it but so many people have been asking about it. Please bring it back Costco such a great buy! Whenever I stop a staff member to inquire about something they've always been helpful I even wrote in before to compliment a woman who went above and beyond to help me during the height of quarantine. The food tastes decent, the service is fast, and you don't even have to be a Costco member to take advantage of the food court. Just bring cash because it's cash only. At these affordable prices, you'd think they'd skimp on the quantity of food, but they don't. Everything is big from the sandwiches to the salads to the slices of pizza to the ice cream bars. American-sized, if you will. I like how there are options. If you want to eat healthy, you can get the Chicken Caesar Salad. Costco's Chicken Caesar Salad consists of crisp Romaine lettuce, shredded Parmesan cheese, a few grape tomatoes, chopped strips of grilled chicken breast, and a large container of Caesar dressing. Croutons are optional and come sealed in a plastic bag. The Caesar Salad is big and good enough for a meal on its own. The hot dogs are good. I prefer to get the Polish sausage over the standard all-beef hot dog just because it's a bit tastier. The only difference between the Polish sausage and the hot dog is the additional spices used to prepare the Polish sausage. The sausage is nice and long. Not too plump, but not scrawny either. It's an ideal size. I like their clean, simple-to-use, and easy-to-read hot dog condiment station, which offers ketchup, mustard, deli mustard (spicier), relish, and chopped onions. Perfect. The food court is located after the checkout lanes. If entering the food court from outside, you can enter through the Exit and head left straight there. Was very disappointed, but I came with my boss and CFO of our company. They did have Invicta watches at an AWESOME price. Their selections to items is not like Sam's or BJ's, those are the stores that I love shopping at because their selections for ALL items are better especially their office supplies. Prices on other items that I viewed are decent and very competitive to other wholesale stores. I earn points, cash back and gift cards with my different shopping apps at the other two stores and not Costco. So I am a fugal shopper and need some money back, points and gift cards for my money. Costco has been one of my favorite businesses since I first joined, maybe 3 years ago. The quality and customer service are unparalleled, and the ease of use with everything makes me feel welcome. From saving money on laundry soap and pork loins, to grabbing BOGO bakery items like muffins and bread loaves, Costco is usually going to be the best bet for most people; from the larger family trying to stretch a buck, to the single people looking to meal prep/cookout/fill a freezer. The fact that they stand behind all their products, and will allow you to return or exchange almost anything (including your membership), speaks volumes to me. You've legit said that if I don't feel like I'm getting value out of my membership, you'll just refund it...I'm a fan. Oh, and before I forget - their gas is typically cheaper than other spots around them by at least 25 cents per gallon, though I've seen the swing be as high as 50 cent per gallon. read more

Stopped by after dinner to sign up for membership. When entering the building, came through the main entrance like I did at Sam's Club when setting up membership and directed to the membership area. While walking through, greeter (Evelyn?) called me out inquiring about membership. Explained I was there to set it up. She aggressively stated you must go through the exit door. I said "who would have known?" She snapped "I'm telling you now!" I thought wow, how nasty. She had an accent and not sure from where, but she is absolutely not a customer service driven agent. I am amazed at the customer friendly culture at Publix Supermarkets and Chick File. And at the end of that day, they may earn the same of less than Costco entry level staff. Proceed to the membership area. Waited for a few minutes and listened to a young black man with braids (couldn't see his name tag) engaging with customers. He was friendly, engaging and patient. We got Joann who started out very friendly while she introduced the different membership options. Once we decided not to go with the executive plan, she seemed visibly defeated and her disposition changed. I even asked her was she angry which she denied. Publix and Chick Fila have cornered the market on awesome customer service. It starts from the top though.
