Over the years I've booked several studios in the OC area for dialogue production and ads and finally found nick@costamesastudios.com, he's a pro, perhaps the only pro in the area! Nick personally made sure that there was seamless integration with our team. A special shoutout to owner Lewis, who is an incredible engineer and producer. Everyone is welcoming, professional, and genuinely cares about creating a great experience. Loved working with Nick and Pablo after my friend Sally McRae who recorded her book with Nick highly recommended him and Costa Mesa Recording Studios. I recorded my full audiobook here, narrated by myself and 2 other narrators. The studio is very professional and made us feel comfortable and supported throughout the entire process. After the audiobook was done, Nick went above and beyond to help dial in my own podcast audio too. I got 3 complements today while testing my new Mic set ups and I'm super thankful. Highly recommend them! read more

Nick was a true professional, such a pleasure to work with and went way over the top to make sure we were comfortable and captured everything we needed. He was very patient and helpful as we learned how to work together, and gave extremely useful insights and suggestions when asked, but was never over stepping. The studio was excellent, comfortable, plenty of space, and had all the equipment needed for high quality content. 10/10 experience with Nick and Pablo and we will certainly use their services again. read more

I got completely lucky to stumble across Nick's studio website when researching local options for a song gift for my wife for our anniversary. It was definitely meant to be because Nick is a genuinely nice person, warm, approachable, an expert and patient. I have zero singing abilities, but Nick made me feel comfortable and helped me deliver a thoughtful production from my poor singing ability and I am sure my wife will love it. The equipment, space, and accommodations in his studio appear top notch. Watching him work is fascinating because the passion he has for music and producing the best work he can shows in every click, amplification, and coaching he provides. read more

A terrific experience. Nick is professional. He has amazing engineering and producing skills. He has super cool and unique equipment to make the finished product orginal and meet the goals that were set. He is creative and always makes sure you are comfortable during the process. He keeps the process moving forward never causing delays all the while with a focus on the details, but at the same time keeping the process simple. He made the band feel welcome in what I call his "Work Home." He has an ability to bring out the best in yourself for the recording. He helps you try new things and find the magic in the process adding it the music. His experience, knowledge and honesty was critical to the success of our final product. We will be back in the future to create some more magic and more fun memories. read more

I had an amazing experience here! It was my first time in a studio and I couldn't have imagined it going any better! Nick was knowledgeable and helpful, he worked with me and went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy with the results of my recording. He was a great listener and I learned a lot in the short time I was with him. The first day I went in, I enjoyed so much that I came back for more the very next! He spent extra time with me and gave me a great deal. It was a pleasure. I am so grateful for this experience and would suggest this studio to anyone looking for great vibes and great results! I needed a studio to record voice overs in multiple languages, with very precise project requirements governing the end product and the ability to re-visit the recordings and shuffle/re-arrange into new projects. I can't imagine finding a better studio, or a more capable and willing host than Nick, and for that reason I've been a repeat customer and wouldn't hesitate to recommend CMR Studios. I think he's secretly something of a recording genius, but too modest to admit. Thanks Nick for all your help! read more

I've been working with Nick & Ryan on every project I'm been involved in since last year. Very often, I've told the people who compliment my music that Nick is not only one of the most reasonable, humble and brilliant HUMANS around, he's also a immensely powerful body of knowledge when it comes to audio engineering. Along with his character comes his one-of-a-kind studio that he's built for efficiency and versatility. The quality of the gear at this studio coupled with the experts that facilitate its use will leave you feeling like you've gotten way more than you've actually paid for. I know I definitely have. I recently wrapped recording the audiobook version of my latest title, CRESCENDO, at CMS. My expectations were quite high as this is the first audiobook to be produced by my independent media company. Also, this project was narrated by a popular TV and film actress, therefore privacy and professionalism was a top priority. Nick Fainbarg, studio engineer and editor extraordinaire, was a dream to work with. His prowess of the high-end equipment and his fine-tuned ability provided the much-needed confidence that my audiobook would rival productions released by top publishers. I am thrilled with the end product and can confidently say the CRESCENDO audiobook is, without doubt, award-worthy due in many respects to his efforts. Beyond highly recommended. I submitted a quote request through Yelp and got a fast response for a competitive rate. My project was a spoken word audio recording to overlay on a 20 minute marketing video. Nick was able to schedule me at a time that worked for my schedule and everything came off perfectly. Ryan gave me a tour of their impressive recording studio and made me feel comfortable. Nick, as others have said, is an awesome guy and extremely talented. He is a true professional and I couldn't be any happier with the quality of the recording and Nick's editing. Just recently went into Costa Mesa Studios to mix a song I've been working on for two years. This song is my baby and I have been very precious about it, so my producer Adam Chavez and I went in together to work the mix with Nick Fainbarg. In just a few moments together Nick cleaned up all the tracks, carved out a bass drum and snare that'll kick you in the gut and developed the highest level of clarity possible for the entire session. Thanks to Nick, our cool indie track now has the professional sound we've been craving without losing any of the authenticity we aspire to create. Straight up, I love Nick Fainbarg and Costa Mesa Studios. -KONG. read more

Hands down a great studio to work in. Nick is one of the best guys I have had the pleasure of working with.

It's obvious when people are really gifted in their craft and love what they do. Nick, the owner of Costa Mesa Recording Studios, is one of those individuals. There are few people as knowledgeable about sound engineering and mixing -- he's truly a master. So grateful for all of his work on a recent audiobook project. While I've been producing film and media content for over a decade, I'd never done an audiobook. Nick helped streamline the process, allowing us to finish the project in half the time we'd estimated. As a collaborator Nick is down to earth and eager to help his clients deliver on their vision. A shout out to Ryan also - I so appreciated his attention to detail. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a recording studio for any kind of project. read more

I'm quite perplexed by Miss Peggy's review. (I'm wondering if this is a form of business slander from an inferior competitor music recording studio).... A little about me. I'm James Spencer (I have owned my own music school for over 25 years, and taught in college and university circles).. For anyone needing validation of my credentials.. http:/www.spencermusicschool.com I am a professional concert pianist/vocalist and artist developer and agent. I have known Mr. Fainbarg at CM Recordings for nearly a year. He is the the nicest, fairest, and most professional recording engineer I have had the opportunity to work with. His credentials are extensive including collaborations with grammy award winning artists, and local/and international professionals. He is punctual, friendly and his rates are very fare. His studio state of the art, with one of the best pianos I have had the opportunity to perform/record on. His piano technician is one of the best known in the business. I have worked with him, as well as as a professional artist developer I have sent him many clients.. who are all pleased with his friendliness, caring, and professionalism. It is such a joy to find such high quality, integrity and professionalism in OC.. and that I no longer have to commute to LA to spend outrageous prices, for less quality. Costa Mesa Recordings feels like family. I am always delighted to collaborate with Mr. Fainbarg on projects, to send him my student artists for production, and look forward to him engineering my next solo album.. I can also give you several names of internationally noted artists, technicians and industry moguls who support Costa Mesa Recording Studios. I am honored and delighted to work with Nick, will ALWAYS recommend him first above other studios, and suggest those who are looking for a great studio for their projects. to call Nick, make an appointment to meet with him and see for yourself. Actions always speak louder than slander Peggy. GIVING CMRS 5 stars! read more
