The establishment is beautifully decorated and you can tell the owner really invested in the place and the people who work there. There is a pink bicycle parked outside, the establishment is pink, the decor is very elegant--perfect for a photo op I opt to do the afternoon tea with Prosecco added on as well as some scones to go. It was a very fair price per person. Under £80 for the entire experience for 2 people. They also sell other assorted desserts, shakes and cakes All the employees were attentive, they explained in detail what our package came with and they made sure we were happy from start to finish. Unfortunately I didn't make the reservation myself (relied on family in London to make it) so we didn't get booked for the afternoon tea service as I'd hoped and just had a reserved table instead. Still, I indulged in some scones with cream and strawberry jam, paired with a strong cup of decaf English breakfast tea. The staff is very friendly and took the time to explain the drink and pastry options to us. I hope I get a chance to visit again for the full tea service before the end of my trip!

The ale selection on tap was a little odd - I think 5 pale ales plus one amber ale, in December, with no dark ales at all but the Kernel export stout in bottles was delicious if a tad pricey. Apparently it's often on tap so keep an eye. The Christmas burger was incredibly good - the combination of camembert, cranberries and mustard mayo brought so many surprisingly complementary flavours and fundamentally the meat itself was fantastic. Best burger I've had in a while. I liked how there is a video games corner - a comfy sofa in front of a tv and you can borrow mario kart from the bar! There's also table football and pool and it got very noisy as competitive spirits rose, so caution if you're looking for somewhere really calm, but overall I'd love to come back here and will try to do so as unfortunately it's likely to close due to some horrible luxury micro flat development killing the only thing in the area that would actually service the tastes of the kind of people in the market for a luxury micro flat. Owner also sells different tea including puer tea. For now they serve Alchemy Coffee which smells and tastes amazing - it's a place worth to visit if you are real coffee-lover. I've been looking for a good coffee in Croydon for ages and finally found it in Crushed Bean! Soon they also going to open sitting area downstairs that will be possible to hire for private events as well. Prices are more than affordable - £2.20 for Latte and just £1.20 for fresh baked kiwi square, such a bargain! They are working closely with The Bread Factory based in Hendon for a great choice of pastries and snacks on offer. There are also hot and cold sandwiches that looked yummy if you are hungry. Service is great as well - guys who are also the owners are very friendly and know what they are doing, wish them good luck and hope they will soon grow into a chain available all around London. They are open in the mornings for tea, coffee, Masala Chai and breakfast foods, they do a great range of pastries and cakes, paninis etc... If you go in the evening I recommend the Masala Chai Martini, it's happiness in a martini glass, their wine selection is a little lacking and the drinks are a little on the expensive side, but you are definitely paying for the experience and atmosphere. They also serve food in the evening you have to order at the Cardamon Club a few doors down and it's cash only. You can book the areas at the back and you can even buy a bottle of spirit at the bar and they'll make you drinks with it all night, perfect for a night out with your friends. Only a couple of things prevent it being 5 stars, it's very small so it's gets very cramped very quickly, on Saturday when we went they obviously had a small party in the back area, and diners in the front so it meant lots of people were kind of hovering/sitting at the bar. The bar staff are friendly and welcoming, although one particularly barman Saturday night was clearly showing off a little for some customers, which meant at one point he accidentally splashed gin up my neck, when making a cocktail. Then a few minutes later he shattered a bottle of tonic when he 'couldn't find' the bottle opener (which was nearby) and tried to open the tonic with a cocktail shaker, considering how busy the bar area was, it seemed a little stupid. No one begrudges anyone having fun at work (really I don't) but it just seemed stupid to me. Highly recommend the Serrano, grilled chicken and sun dried tomatoes, with a sweet chill dip. Its gets very busy in there and seating can be hard to find, but its well worth the wait, the staff are attentive and helpful, and will serve you a glass of naturally flavoured water (currently cucumber) upon arrival which sounds weird but is actually really tasty and refreshing. Located at the top of Beckenham close to the station, this place is perfect stop for lunch before embarking on a trek around Beckenham place park to burn off that slice of chocolate orange cake.
