I had the Lentil Pine Nut Pork Roll special (see picture) and it was amazingly delicious! It sounded a bit funky but it was lovely. It came with a nice little side of greens with a vinaigrette. The dough that makes the 'roll' was my favourite part, almost like a crisp pastry dough. I followed my lunch with a wonderful almond raspberry tart. Yum! This time I'm trying the mushroom toast! I will let you know how it is!

I love Grace and Favour, admittedly I have only had cake and coffee on a couple of visits so far but from this alone I absolutly recommend it. Firstly the cake options are beautiful, and I was very happy to find they, on occasion, have gluten free/dairy free. I was fortunate to try the dairy free chocolate cake - amazzing!!! Coffee is by Dear Green, a little mild for my liking bit still enjoyable. The menu sounds utterly delicious and seems to have a fair selection of healthy option so I will soon be back to try this. The decor is stunning, staff have always been very friendly and chatty. A new great find, I will most deffinetly be back......soon!!

R34 Cafe & Restaurant - Interior during a quiet moment

Odd to review this place as it's situated in the building I work in but as I eat there every day…read moreit's about time I covered it. For a while R34 was a restaurant and got good reviews for the quality and style of the food. It was open on Friday and Saturday evenings and the press cuttings on the wall suggest it was initially successful. Unfortunately the location has been the restaurants downfall. After the initial flurry of interest they've slowly and surely cut back the opening hours to the point where, today, they are better viewed as a budget restaurant or meal focused cafe that is only open during the week (and office working hours at that). The food is ok. Open for fairly standard breakfast offerings (think roll and sausage or toast) and at lunch there is a choice of three hot dishes, as well as a sandwich bar, soup of the day and a scattering of cakes. Due to the location, the bulk of the customers come from within the building (like myself) or another nearby office. Most afternoons will see some people popping in for a, reasonably good, coffee. The building warrants a mention, as R34 is housed within the India of Inchinnan building, a (listed) art deco frontage with a modern verdigris and glass dominated extension, which is most famous for being the site where airships used to be built (hence the R34 name). As for the cafe, there isn't much in the way of competition (Erskine and Renfrew not exactly hot spots when it comes to cafes and restaurants) so from that point of view it's good to have something dependable in the local area. If you are passing, and you'll spot the building as it's very distinctive, it's not a bad spot for a coffee or a quick bite to eat. Also, you might bump into me! (wait, that's not a selling point...).

Did not realize Yelp made it to Scotland :)…read more An American in Scotland (albeit for only three days); Was in this building a few weeks a go for a business meeting at our Glasgow Office. We had them cater coffee and tea for the 7 of us and well as small finger sandwiches for lunch. I really love coffee (black) and tea (plain, no sweetener or cream) and usually don't get very good of either BUT have to say they provided what I have to say is the best cup of coffee I have had in many many years, maybe ever. Maybe ever is a pretty strong statement but have to say it was a joy then enjoy. Not too bold, very smooth, totally enjoyable. The finger sandwiches very very good with a very UK'ish selecting of meat and veggie finger sandwiches. Did not try breakfast or other foods while I was there BUT looking forward to a return trip.....

This restaurant is worth your attention…read more Formerly Cafe JJ, Abarcrombie's is situated on the busy thoroughfare of Dumbarton Road. There is no shortage of restaurants in this area looking for business, but this place should not be overlooked! It's actually become one of my favourites when I'm in this neck of the woods. Dinky, intimate and cosy, it keeps its decor simple but elegant, with wine coloured walls and deep, rich colours for the furniture. There are some local artists displayed on the walls, much like it was in its JJ days - representing local people trying to earn a buck through their paintings. The staff in here are so friendly, I feel like I've got to know them. Funny, open and up for a banter, but also really caring and attentive when taking your order! I love the chat when I'm in here, even if I'm just stopping by for a cuppa. The food though, which most of you are wanting to find out about....is absolutely delicious. For a small-ish cafe they know how to serve up a classy platter. I've had delicious pate, salads and amazing chorizo pasta in here. My friend got a burger and said it was incredible. Food is homemade and prepared to perfection. For a petite and new(ish) business it punches way above its weight and the food here is absolutely glorious. I'm always surprised it's fairly quiet when I'm in there, which is obviously to my advantage because it's serene and scran is served up promptly, but it's one of the best places for dinner in the area and should begin to get more of the acclaim and merit it deserves. Lots of love for this cafe, I hope it prospers.
