Horrible place to get insurance was completely scammed when purchasing insurance was told verbally that I WOULD BE GETTING MY CAR fully covered for a car that I don't own fully but after an accident was informed i had been paying over 300$ for liability when asked how that could be in the State of CA you legally have to have full coverage on a car not fully owned. After her verbally explaining to me in person what I was agreeing to turns out it was a big lie and I reached out to them and was told i should have read the paperwork even though they never gave me paperwork while in the office, but they sent it to me. so please don't purchase anything from them I will be filing a lawsuit. read more

I have been with the car insurance policy for years now. My girls are grown and have their car insurance coverage. They first loop me around on their automatic system, then one agent came on the line and then dropped my call. I called again, same thing happened until the 4th time, I finally reached a person. He was telling me that I can change their status to "excluded". I thought I finally accomplished something, then he said there will be a surcharge $100 for the transaction. I told him I was not aware of that and have been on the same policy for years. He said if you need an "expert"" to provide services, I will need to pay for a fee. I told him there are only certain licenses in order to be fee-based and I told him car insurance is NOT one of them. I told him NOT to do anything. I called National General immediately and the customer service told me there will not be a charge for just updating address or removing someone. Mann...I am glad I am not stupid or old to just take anything they said. DO NOT GET SCAM FOR SERVICE FEE. It's ILLEGAL to be fee based on car insurance services. GIVE ME A BREAK. The broker name is Elizabeth Medina, the worst broker I ever came across. I usually pay for car insurance policy for the whole year paid in full. I've been doing this for the past two years with no problems.... I think she's located at the San Leandro and El Cerrito location cost U less insurance. So she never submit my sign documents so my policy was cancel about 3 times. I had to go back and forth with her and she never fixed the situation. She was asking for more money even though I paid the amount in FULL. So I had to be a broker myself and called dairyland insurance and of course the lady from dairyland was the sweetest and helped with my situation. I've would of sue her for breaching the contract but she clearly did not do her job correct. The worst customer service ever!!!! So freaking ridiculous. Don't even bother! I booked literally 2 days ago and it's been an ongoing struggle. First of all, they must have the shittiest reception because my calls (PLURAL) get dropped a lot AT LEAST 50% of the times I've called. What started off as a small little inconvenience has turned into the biggest pain in the ass. I spoke to a representative over the phone to get set up and I never received the email to finalize everything(checked Spam and everything). Supposedly I was going to get a receipt? Well, that's no big deal... I just need to call back and have it resent... YEAH RIGHT! The call takes FOREVER to get to finally speak to someone which has made the past 4 times I've called just more frustrating. The representative I used to sign up apparently is NEVER there and apparently no one else can help me. They rather just transfer me or drop the call. The first time I called I kept on getting transferred before I was disconnected. I just called again so frustrated since it is the second day of 4+ calls to reach someone to get this resolved, that I finally called to cancel. Get a refund of this bullshit $800 charge Im going to be billed for an insurance policy I can't even get a receipt of, or even proof that I have. I don't even know if I have insurance since I have nothing other than a FreewayInsurance charge on my credit card as proof. So this last time I called, I was pretty upset so I was pretty blunt on saying I wanted to cancel(this was already after I got disconnected just minutes before) and so after I told this woman that, AGAIN the line got disconnected. I called back and she told me I have to call customer service. Which now is closed. WELL MAYBE if it didn't take so long for me to actually speak to someone after 3 calls and their long ass ring wait... it wouldn't be closed! Im just so fed up with how everything has turned out. Finally I decided to take the advice of that irritating kid Mike, from the freeway commercials, and called this place (same company lol). Anyway. Jordon was SUPER helpful and was able to give me the best rate ever and a lot of good advice. There was a very angry, confused lady causing a scene in there while I was waiting and he and the manager handled it very calmly and professional. Quite impressive considering I was getting ready to sh*t my heart out my a** from the anxiety of the whole fiasco, and I wasn't even involved. So, to sum it up-- I'd recommend coming here! This place is SHADY. I went in for a motorcycle insurance quote and there was only one associate there working. He was nice enough and told me to fill out the form while I was waiting but the form asked all kinds of questions that were odd and not asked by other insurance agencies I've gotten quotes from. There was even a part for telemarketing which was not just for there company and basically implied/stated they were going to sell off your number and email address to other companies. The customers were all super ghetto and after half an hour of waiting I took my form and left. As I was leaving two of the customers that had been seen before me were doing a drug deal in the parking lot. Then they sat in a car and started smoking either meth or crack out of a pizo right in front of the building. I ended up going to Berkeley Yamaha and getting coverage from their Finance and Insurance department lady. I figure I probably paid a little more for insurance but I didn't feel like it was worth the hassle of dealing with this place. read more

They forgot to file my Sr22 and caused my lisence to be suspended. Need I say more? They've been nice to me, but I can't tolerate this and it needs to be mentioned. I have a receipt from them showing I played for progressive insurance 6 months in full with Sr22 included. Two weeks later I receive notice from the DMV that my "license is suspended" for failure to provide proof of insurance. If you're familiar with CA state law you'll know that the DMV only accepts proof filed directly from insurance providers. After finding out my liscense was suspended I calmly went down to cost u less and asked what's up and right then on Dec. 31 right between DMV holidays when it's notoriously slow they sent it to the dmv and assured me everything would be ok but they didn't admit fault. Another two weeks pass and I have an encounter with a nosey officer who decides to check up on me while im responsibly parked texting my friend outside of a fast food restaurant after eating. He informs me that my lisence is suspended... I let out a huge sigh and explain the situation and he doesn't bother to check my proof and let's me go like nothing happened because he a had no reasonable suspicion to approach me. He said "the DMV gets backed up around this time of year" - but that's no excuse for the situation I'm going through! The next day I'm back at Cost u less and the most they can do is assure me that it's ok to drive on a suspended liscence and print out a paper showing they filed my Sr22 on Dec. 31. 2015 27 days after I purchased insurance SIX MONTHS IN FULL!!! To this day Idk if my liscense is still suspended beacause of their mishap. I understand that people make mistakes J. Wash, but this has been a huge headache to me and no one from cost u less has stepped forward to achknowledge how big of a deal it is to let this happen to a customer. Driving with a suspended lisence in the eyes of law enforcement is 2 points on a record and gets your vehicle towed and its a ton of $$$ down the drain and something I'd have to live with. All I'd like to do is keep my life on track with little problems as possible and here's some a*hole f*tard insurance agent who has an accident one day and puts me through this bull like I haven't gone through hell needing to file an Sr22 to begin with. I was outside just now about to go into the business. Decided not to because the manager was yelling at this young man there. Looks like the office is all over the place very ghetto. I work in management and would never speak to my staff the way she spoke to this poor young gentlemen. I saw him leave after and spoke to him. He was so kind and still suggested I go in for insurance after explaining a bit of my situation to him. I ended up giving him my card and offering him a job. Hopefully he calls me because that lady was awful. Came in today with my boyfriend to get new insurance for our car. We called ahead and Stephanie was very nice about giving us a quote before hand over the phone so we decided to drive down and check it out. When we arrived luckily it wasn't busy and Stephanie was very helpful with making sure we had chosen the right insurance coverage for our needs and she even sent over a copy of our documents to our finance company so we didn't have to worry about doing it later. She went over everything throughly and although it was a minor wait to get everything finished she made sure we were comfortable by offering us both tea and coffee and engaging in small talk while we waited. The whole transaction took ruffly about 45 mins which I didn't mind at all because she was so sweet to us the whole time and assured us she was going to get us out of there as quickly as possible. Overall I must say it was a great interaction and I highly recommend working with Stephanie if planning on visiting this location. My only negative about this location was that as we waited the only other sales woman in the office in front of us sat at her desk talking on the phone to a friend, I'm assuming, about her man issues and other personal issues which made as a little uncomfortable. Seeing that the desks are pretty close together, we got a whole ear full of her personal conversation. It was highly unprofessional so I'm glad we didn't end up working with her. Also, prior to coming in we had called twice and talked to a woman who kept hanging up on us when we simply wanted a quote and I'm assuming she was the one who kept disconnecting us because she didn't seem as if she wanted to be there at all.
