I've been going here to get my legs sugared by Christina (the Managing Licensed Esthetician) since…read moreNovember of 2016. I can't believe how kind and professional she is, even to someone who is new to the process and asks TONS of questions like me! She made sure I wasn't uncomfortable and that the sugar wasn't pulling on my skin. She gave me specific instructions to follow before my first appointment to help me be best prepared for the procedure. Her directions for exfoliation were thorough and clear; and this is a key step to having any hair removal procedure to avoid skin irritation and ingrown hair. I'm excited to keep going and see the hair growth diminish on my legs. I get horrible razor burn, so this has been the best thing for me. Christina is happy to help with any other skin questions I have, giving suggestions of things to avoid and things to try that I already have at home... Never trying to just upsell me, she has offered me a few samples to try before buying a full-sized product from their showroom. The Spa has such a calm and peaceful atmosphere, as well. So much so that I look forward to spending a couple hours having my legs sugared, even though it isn't the most pain-free experience! (It does hurt a LOT LESS than regular waxing, however!) Highly recommended!

I visited this hair salon in Akron for the first time on Thursday, 5 December 2024 to get my hair…read morebraided. I had never heard of this hair salon before until a friend who gets her hair braided here told me about it. I decided that I needed to book an appointment almost last minute so I was lucky when I found an availability (I booked on Tuesday, 3 December). I wanted my hair done soon because I have a few events this month including Christmas holiday plus a wedding to attend a few days before New Year's Eve. Much to my dismay, on the day of my appointment, the weather was terrible with snow so I was about 20 mins late to my 8am appointment but the braider was so nice and understanding. She was patient in waiting for me to arrive. I literally could only drive at a speed of 40-45MPH for almost my whole drive down to Akron from Cleveland. Aiyahna C. is the name of the braider who braided my hair. I messaged her on the StyleSeat app prior to my appointment with the colour and length of braids that I wanted. She is a young woman in her early twenties who is a self taught braider. You can find her on the StyleSeat app. which is how you book an appointment. BRAIDS -- There are different styles to choose from including box braids, knotless braids, locs, conrows, etc. I choose the small box braids ($180) which ended up looking great at the end. All braiding services include the hair that will be used (the actual braids or extensions), a hair wash and blow dry, plus the actual braiding service. OTHER SERVICES -- They also offer nail services and other hair services such as hair extensions, weaves/extensions, conrow braids, locs, etc CON -- The only downside to my experience was the service was advertised as 5 hours but ideally, it actually will take 7-8 hours. I was there for over 8 hours which was frustrating. When I saw 5 hours listed on the StyleSeat app, I thought that maybe the braider (Aiyahna) would have someone helping her braid my hair but it was just her braiding my hair. I started my appointment (braiding) around 9:15am and I left just after 5:30pm so I was there for 8.5+ hours. I actually arrived around 8:20am but my hair needed to be washed and blow dried first. I wasn't happy staying past 2pm because I originally planned to be back at work by 2:30pm/3:00pm. I most likely won't be back to B Sassy Beauty Express because this hair salon is an hour away from where I live. If you live in Akron and want your hair braided then contact them. Aiyahna C. is a good braider though, for the small box braids that I did. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 119/150 total reviews in 2024 - 768 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 8 December 2024
