Roni (the owner) provided a free, same-day estimate after visiting our home for interior painting. Throughout the paint project, he constantly and thoroughly explained each day's tasks. Pretty soon we were confident that he is an expert and knows the ins and outs of what needs to be done (I think at this point we could call him an artisan). Roni made sure that every aspect of the project was completely and perfectly done, even when it meant doing extra sanding and retouching at the last moment. Plus, the team cleaned up impeccably. Roni and his team also made sure that we met our deadlines - we were working under a tight schedule, and were thankful that the team took it seriously and in a professional manner. On top of that, the team was friendly and a genuine pleasure to interact with. Roni felt like the uncle - or the neighbor - we wished we'd had! Overall, we had a wonderful experience with this local group. With the quality and pleasantness, it was definitely worth the amount we spent (Roni also offered some discount for certain jobs). Without a doubt I'd highly recommend this team if a friend asked for suggestions.

With an old house, there is sometimes an unexpected complication in the course of a job. With Motti Painting Solutions, I always feel like we are collaborating to get the best result, and I never feel like I am being sold something. This is the only painting contractor I would ever consider using and I enthusiastically give them the highest recommendation.

I called Josh and talked to him about my house that is huge and old; as I told him, I needed to repair the windows before the paint job could be completed. Josh said that he knew a carpenter who could do the windows and would paint the house after the repairs were done. As it turned out, I needed to get 27 windows fixed. So I had a bargain, a good carpenter who was ready to go up three stories to get my windows on the top floor and a painter who was going to paint my three-decker. Eventually, J&J came after all the repairs were completed and painted my house in 10 days. They were extremely efficient, professional, and pleasant to deal with. They answered my concerns by scraping, sanding, and caulking all surfaces. They used primer and good paint. Some of my neighbors came over to Josh to ask him whether he could paint their houses too. There was no drama, no mess. They told me in advance to inform other residents not to use the common area for a day or two. I definitely hope to hire them for inside jobs and recommend them for outside painting.

Every one of them appeared to take their job quite seriously. It was a big job and they were here for weeks - scraping, sanding, cleaning and finally painting. The house looks terrific (and if it could talk, I'm sure it's very happy with how it was cared for). I recommend them highly to anyone looking for a very high quality painting company.

Even though their pricing was at the high end of the estimates we received, i chose them because…read moreof: their great reviews here and elsewhere; affiliation with WBUR public radio and Historic New England; their estimate was extremely detailed; and they work on a lot of old houses. I expected their attention to detail and customer service to be just as detailed as their estimate but they fell far short of meeting our expectations. If it weren't for me directing the painters each day, we would've had a number of areas that were either not painted at all, not properly prepped, or painted the wrong color. I gave one star because their painters did an acceptable job...but only because I had to manage them by myself. They needed direction, which the project manager Pete did not provide. And when he was here he never gave me a heads up; if I happened to notice Pete was here he would disappear before I could get outside to look at things with him. At the end of the job, even on the last day, he did not meet with us when punch list items should have been reviewed. They also refused to do the last bit of work we planned on. It was estimated separately because they were still discussing with us which floor sealer to use and another contractor had to install the gutters first before they came back to paint them. Pete, backed up by Nigel (the owner) decided they didn't want to work with us anymore because they "did not meet our expectations." Normally if a business admits to not meeting the expectations of their customer, they try to correct the problem to make the customer happy. In this case, apparently because we complained about the above issues as well as some damage to our antique hardware and floor, they dumped us with 1-2 days work left to do. (They didn't have to honor the second estimate because we hadn't paid a deposit yet - they hadn't billed us yet, though we technically had a verbal and written agreement via email). Lesson learned, if you arrange work on a separate estimate, be sure to pay the deposit so they are locked into finishing your job! When invoiced, they tried to charge us for work not done (I knew this because I was here everyday managing the job) so i had to ask them to reduce the bill by that amount. When I received the adjusted invoice, I asked for a discount due to our dismal experience, the amount of personal time I had to spend managing this project, as well as the damage that they did not address. The owner responded by threatening to have his lawyer put a lien on our house instead of first trying to make this right, which is the number one tenet of customer service. Incredibly disappointing and confusingly awful customer service. DO NOT HIRE THEM.

They included a high cathedral ceiling and walls that needed plastering and baseboard heating. They exceeded my expectations in every way and especially the quality of their work and their attention for small detail. They plastered holes, covered cracks with tape and used the latest technology for water stains. They followed best practices and did not cut corners. They delivered two needed coats while others only quoted one. They fixed, patched and painted railing that I did not think could be saved. They were extremely professional. I was so impressed that I asked then to return and paint the rest of the house. These are the real pro's and were very competitively priced. I would recommend them without reservation and hire them again in a second. If quality at a competitive price is important, this is who you want to use.

They painted the whole inside of the house including the basement for less than what most suppliers quoted for just the 1st and 2nd floor. Moreover their attention to detail was brilliant. They removed wall paper, they prepped walls, they did loads of repairs for imperfections. They gave the walls 2 coats and did all of the trim. They did the doors and even the ceilings. This was the opposite of "not my job" service. It was, "I know this wasn't part of the scope of work, but I think we can make the cabinets look nicer if we paint them inside." "Is it ok if we do this extra work if we still finish in time?" No up-charge/change order: just lovely owning making the whole house look beautiful. I would hire Sanderson back in a heart beat. Not only is he trustworthy, but also his work ethic is admirable. He finished earlier than promised and did more work than what was ordered. Our house clearance team was 2 days late and Teamwork came in before they were done to start patching. Teamwork was done ahead of schedule to help me make up for their delay.
