I'm trying to book a birthday get together there, but I'm being given the runaround. * The 1st time I called I pressed 2 for events. The woman who answered and said I have to call back and speak to the manager. * I called on 2 separate occasions and pressed 1 for the manager. I left a voicemail both times. I have come here several times for the vegetarian Beyond Burger and it has always been delicious. So much so it became my favorite burger spot. However, today I came in and they served me a veggie burger with vegetables in it. I was very disappointed because the menu advertises a beyond burger, and I have also been to this establishment several times. Both lady servers tonight insisted they have never served beyond burgers even though their menu states it, and I have come in before. I appreciate the refund, but it was off putting that they assured me they never had beyond burgers despite the menu. I have a attached a photo of the beyond burger I had a month ago. Theres only a few places to grab a bite and this is a great option as it has a good variety of appetizers, entrees and on tap selection is spot on. There is two floors -down stairs offers lots of tvs for sports, live music. Did not visit upstairs I did see on the weekly specials they have pool and darts. Not quite sure where the 4 plus stars come into play...maybe it was the service and the band. The food was definitely not hitting. Food was less than mediocre. We got the shrimp tacos/quesadilla...no seasoning on the shrimp, so basically shrimp and cheese in a tortilla. The Philly was subpar not just because I asked for no mushrooms and got a boatload of them (they did remake it) but 1 thin slice of cheese and the steak had a lot of gristle. Went to Metro Ales but there is a notice on the door that the restaurant is changing owners . It's transitioning into a Mexican seafood restaurant. They had a few items that are not seafood which is what we had . They have like a hamburger a chicken sandwich and turkey sandwich and some other things. We came to a fundraiser here today and I have to say, I'm really impressed!! My girlfriends and I are already planning to come back for dinner soon! The room we were in was really nice, not sure if it was the top floor but I think it was. It's not overly decorated, but it's not super sparse. It was a nice atmosphere and a great place for a party! Everything was well organized. The waitstaff was so on it, that I complimented them throughout the event. Normally I would wait until the end, but I was just really impressed with them. Sal in particular was really helpful. There was a spill on the registration table and he was quick to get that taken care of! Once the food was served, it did come out in spurts, but it was a large event and probably to be expected to some extent. That said, everyone enjoyed their meals which is a big reason we plan to go back! Plus the fact that they support local charities makes me want to support them too. This place is something else. My old lady and I were walking around last night in Pomona, killing time before heading to the Glasshouse. Saw this spot nearby, w/ a decent selection of beers on tap, so we decided to head on in. ID's were checked and I was patted down, and we walked inside. It was pretty dead, a Saturday night close to 10p. There was no one that appeared to be working, so after standing aimlessly for a moment we decided to sit down and wait for someone to come over. We waited. And waited. A woman passed us by and went straight to the kitchen area (maybe?) and came back out, passing us again, and never greeted us. Finally I went to the bar, and a bartender (maybe?) was behind the counter. I asked him for a beer menu and I went back to our table. Headed back up to the bar with our drink orders and lo and behold, no bartender! Getting ready to just leave until the same woman from earlier that kept passing us, came behind the bar and offered to take my order. Got 2 beers, and they were poured in plastic cups, like the ones you get when you go to a damn music festival. I hand the woman the card (she was wearing a flannel shirt, jeans and slightly on the heavier side) and she returns it to me by placing it on the table. Ugh, man. That really annoys me. If I hand you the card, I expect to have the card handed back to me - don't place it on the damn table like loose change, Jesus. They had good service , Thought we would go for happy hour , they said the only thing on happy hour they would honor was the beer , no food , well drinks or anything else. Ordered pastrami sandwich . Pastrami doesn't make it to the end of the sandwich :/ if they honored the happy hour that is on their website and the sandwich wasn't a little skimpy review would be better . If I based my review only on food, it might be a 3.5 review .... BUT .... the ambience, beer and waitress earned a "4". My husband had a caesar salad with chicken, which was delicious and well presented. I had the smash burger ... nothing amazing. Patties were kind of dray, not much flavor. But the fries were yummy, and the onion rings weren't bad. When another waitress sprayed cleanser on a table though, ugh, my food tasted like cleanser for a quick bit. Our waitress tipped the scales back toward positive. The music was great, just the right mix, at the right volume. The beer selection was good; I really liked the apricot gose from Claremont Craft Ales, and I am not a beer drinker. We will go back again. read more
