This level of service is very hard to find. Aveda Alderwood is one of the few retailers that I can easily recommend to friends to visit. While I appreciate the detailed attention to my skin's needs, I STILL felt the need to skip buying products from the salons and come in here. Why, you're asking, Clover, do you do that when the product is available at the salons? Because as much as they know skin at the places I get mine purtied up, they don't know the products like these guys do. In a minute flat the amazingly nice 'product specialist' had my hands full of exactly what I needed, and then proceeded to give me a complimentary hand/aromatherapy massage.... mmmmm... that felt and smelled amazing. Walked out with what I wanted to get and a little extra something- that oil they used on my pulse points really did make me feel like I wanted to melt into it. I personally love their tourmaline products, the day cream and my new one step exfoliating cleanser along with the toner are all I need to look so fresh and clean. Add to it their gorgeous scents and I'm in heaven... So go, get you some great stuff or stop in for a gift that will give enjoyment for months of use long after the holidays.

I always thought Sephora was a little ~bougie~ for me, but it turns out, it's actually just perfect. Last night, I was heading to Ulta to get some Tarte Shape Tape. I walked in and promptly turned around and walked out. It was like something came over me... like... Sephora was calling my name. I decided to follow my instincts... I went to Sephora instead and was immediately greeted. I asked for a concealer recommendation similar to Shape Tape. I love Shape Tape, but I found it to be a little too thick and drying, so I was open to experimenting with a new concealer. The girl who helped me brought me THREE different concealers and told me about all of them (I didn't get her name, but big shoutout to her!!!). If you're fully vaccinated, you can remove your mask and sample the products on your face. How amazing!!! I ended up settling on the Vanish Hourglass concealer. As I was browsing more items, Riley came up and started chatting to me about the Laneige lip products. I ended up getting one of their lip gloss balms along with a Charlotte Tilbury lip liner to go with it. Major shoutout to Riley who had such a lovely personality and amazing recommendations! :) I decided to try out my new products today and.... !!!!! They're amazing. I'm obsessed with how my skin looks with the Hourglass concealer. It's not too thick and feels super hydrating. It has the perfect amount of coverage and the shade she chose for me is absolutely perfect. The Laneige lip gloss balm and Charlotte Tilbury lip liner make my lips look so good. They also have the BEST return policy in case you don't like a product you bring home. Overall, I am so so soooo happy with my experience. It was 10000/10. I am now forever loyal to Sephora. After a bored "welcome in", it was difficult to find an employee who was interested in helping. They either steered the other way when we walked close (looking at displays) or simply ignored customers altogether. One young she/her did step up and assisted us at the end of our visit with getting a small sample of makeup remover. The store seemed clean and organized similarly to any other Sephora. Parking in the shopping area can be hard to come by on weekends, but our visit on a Monday made for easy parking and a quick walk to Sephora as well as other businesses in the square.

Every child was welcomed warmly and treated with such kindness and respect. We already love Lush for their strong moral stance and commitment to fighting animal testing, so we couldn't imagine a better place to spend our time and money. The girls played games, enjoyed face masks and lip scrubs, and fully experienced the magic of Lush. It was engaging, organized, and so much fun. When the mall opened, the staff didn't rush us out. They graciously worked around the change in pace and continued to make us feel completely welcome. Any small hiccups were handled seamlessly and professionally -- no one felt overlooked or disappointed. The team communicated with gentleness, patience, and clarity throughout the entire event. We spent a CRAZY amount of time at our first two appointments just getting out the (very stubborn) bad hair color and getting my hair back to something a bit more natural-looking. I was amazed she managed to do it without destroying my hair, and though it was understandably a bit dry after all the color removal, it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. She topped it off with a cut that looks good even when I can't be bothered to blow-dry and style, which is always. Petra is knowledgeable and pleasant to chat with, and her private hair studio is clean and comfortable. We got here before we usually even have breakfast on a weekend morning. Place is already busy. Kids behind the counter are nice but honestly not much perkier than I was. The stylist was super friendly and nice. My wife's using a wheelchair for a while these days, and the sweet kid couldn't have been more gracious and helpful about it. I dig that so much. I'll say that based on the traffic I saw coming in, the clientele here doesn't seem to skew very young. Most of the gals seemed like they have kids, probably grown kids, maybe grandkids. The staff is much younger, but my wife kinda felt like her bob looked a bit dated when she was done. She did a great job otherwise and was as nice as could be. By the time we checked out, everyone (including me) seemed to have metabolized some coffee and the conversation was lively. I don't know exactly how to recommend hair salons or predict who'll like one of them more than another, but this place is solid from everything we saw this morning.
