Our fur babies love Cosmo Dog Park! We really appreciate how there are different, separated sections. One near the water where dogs can splash and swim, one dry section for small dogs, and one dry section for large dogs. We have taken our dogs a handful of times to the large dog section. There's usually a lot of dogs when we go, which is great for us because our dogs are very social and can play for hours. It's fairly clean and equipped with plenty of poop bags as well as a few scoopers. There are a few benches around, but not enough shade. There's a water station in between the two sections, but best to bring your own water bowl. We have yet to take our babies to the water because we're not prepared for the aftermath. Don't get me wrong- my dogs loves this place- me I'm on the fence. I can appreciate that there is a dedicated area for small dogs, including those that are timid and elderly. Unfortunately some dog owners ignore that sign and there is 0 means of enforcement. When everyone follows the rules, everyone has fun. Park could also be a lot cleaner, doesn't seem as though the Town is too dedicated to its upkeep despite how popular it is and the fact that this is the only large public dog park in Gilbert and for miles. read more

Our doggos love going to Cosmo Dog Park! It's such a great spot, especially during those toasty Arizona days with the option to take the pups swimming in a safe and dog specific area. The park features a few separate parks with shared entrance: One for small dogs, one for larger or all dogs, both of which are "dry" and then one connecting to the man-made dog beach and swimming area. The dog beach is so great for the pooches to play hard and stay cool on the warmer days, or really any day for that matter! There is also a nice rinse/washing station to take advantage after your dog has rolled around in the sand and water for a bit, but make sure to bring your washing supplies! A few things that doesn't hit the mark is the lack of watering stations and bowls for the dogs. There is not one on the "dry" side, so make sure to bring your own or prepare to switch sides. There is also minimal shade and next to no seating on the dry side, adding a few benches and tables along with the watering stations would go a long way! It's still a great park and worth a visit, specially if your dog loves to swim! Just make sure to come prepared with water for the fur babies and watch them have a blast. read more

Best dog park in the east valley, as far as I'm concerned!! There are several pens and I can usually find one for my very reactive pound puppy to play for a few minutes alone off leash early on the morning. Also the way the fencing is built, my dog has been able to safely meet other dogs through the fence, which has helped my old boy socialize safely (both safe for him and other dogs). This park has been such a blessing to us. Note: I wish there were trees planted in the pens, as that would help during the summer. read more

We love this dog park! We have a 9lb Havanese so it's nice to have the small dog area for him to run around. There's a lot of space to walk your pup if you want to avoid the other dogs and just have a nice quiet walk. Lots of available parking and the park overall is very clean! read more

POLICE CALLED!!! Be prepared to be threatened by this guy. For some reason he wanted to slap the shit out of me cause my dog was giving his little terrier "too much non-aggressive attention". Even after calmly suggesting maybe the small dog side would be better for him than the big side. Seriously if you're going to bring your little dog into big dog side you have to know it might not turn out well sometimes. Big dog people don't get upset when dogs jump on them. We accept that can and most likely will happen. So keep on the lookout. This guy was already MAD and wanted to hit me before I could even say "what's going on". Nice big dog park with big fenced in areas. The problem is a lot of people don't pick up their dog's crap. Especially out and around the outside walking areas. If they do they bag it and throw it on the ground instead of in the designated trash cans that are all over the park. You shouldn't have a dog if you can't pick up after it. Do everyone a favor and stay out of dog parks. read more

It's been about 10 years since I've been to this dog park. It seems nicer and cleaner. Plenty of bags for cleaning up after your pet, dog washing stations and drinking fountains are available. Sections for small and timid dogs are separate from the big dogs and the park has different gated areas depending on if you want access to the water. It was a good mix of dogs, there were no altercations between dogs or people while I was there and it was a pleasant visit. As with any dog park I would advise caution, but I enjoyed it and I would definitely recommend it. read more

What a beautiful and clean dog park located in Gilbert. It has lots of parking, beautiful lakes for your four legged fur babies to swim and play around in and lots segregated dog areas according to your fur babies size and breed. This park also has covered picnic tables so you can pack a lunch or dinner and if you enjoy playing basketball they also have courts. This is a great dog park I highly recommend stopping in with your dog if the two of you happen to be and and about in the East Valley area. read more

This is by far one of my favorite dog parks. It's well worth the 30 minute drive from Tempe Town Lake to get here. A coworker invited me to Cosmo and said it had a lake for dogs to play and swim in. I was very excited to give it a try since my dog is very finicky in water. He's not a fan of baths or rain but I still wanted to "test the waters". Upon arrival we went into a few of the enclosed gate areas just so he could have some time running around with his friends. He really enjoyed the grassy area and made sure to make his way around the entire fence. After some time we decided to give the sandy lake area a chance. Of course my little guy wasn't having it one bit. I would carry him to the water and put him in but he would run out every time. Eventually he noticed other dogs running after balls into the water and decided to do the same. I was so shocked! Like any fur parent I was extremely happy to see this. He even went to the deeper part of the water and doggie paddled. I couldn't be any more proud of the little guy. Long story short, this park is perfect for the dogs, big and small. If you want to try and get your dog accustomed to water and swimming, this is a great place to do just that! read more

I'm lucky to have one friendly dog (out of 5) and so he is able to roam freely in the big section where all the friendly dogs can be. They have a few hoses around so you can rinse off your dogs after letting them be in the lake. Plenty of bags for poop and trash cans are throughout. People are usually friendly and we have not had a bad experience.. It's usually very busy in the afternoons! read more

Could be amazing! If people actually watched their dogs instead of socializing. The ratio of responsible dog owners at the lake shore are 2/5, gets worse at night. My dogs love this park to swim and its clean enough most days. You'll get the lazy owners that don't pick up but after their pups but the worst ones are the people that are on their phones or are chatting at the tables and let their dogs get in others faces to bark or snatch toys out of their mouths. There's also many owners that bring their sensitive or reactive dogs and expect others to cater to them when they clearly have the option of the timid dog areas. Totally bring you dogs at your own risk. Make sure your dog listens to commands or always be ready with a leash/lead to quickly grab them and hold owners accountable if their dog draws blood! read more

I wanted to love this place but it was only Ok. Warning for dog owners...the water has a small ridge which is shallow and then has a quick drop off. My little guy went running in and didn't know and fell off the ledge. Thankfully he knew how to swim. We came on a weekend and there were tons of dogs for this small space. I also feel like people didn't watch their dogs very well as a couple different big dogs wouldn't leave my little dogs alone. We ended up going to the small dog area which was better, but nothing special. We mainly came here for the water, but probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

It's such a unique park since it has the dog beach and a bunch of other separate off-leash parks. There also other things to do for the whole family. Definitely my favorite dog park in Arizona! The complex is broken into the three separate areas- one with water access, one with a small agility course and a third meant for smaller dogs. Each area is closed at a certain time for maintenance, but never at the same time. The weekends get very busy and it's always a great time. I rarely see animal disagreements and all owners are respectful. Each section has a water station/hose for drinking and washing off after a fun filled visit. The parks are generally pretty clean and there's various trash cans and bag holders throughout for use. My only gripe is there never seems to be enough bags to pick up dog poop. If you're headed for a visit, try and bring some plastic bags from home to refill the containers! read more

What a unique dog park! Although it's quite the distance from where we live, it's work the drive! It's clearly marked from the road which makes it easily identifiable. There's plenty of space for your pet to roam and play with other dogs. I like how they have different areas sectioned off incase your dog may be too small to play with larger dogs at the park, or if you just want some one-on-one play time. Each section has poop bags available and a gate that can be closed to prevent your pet from running off. The stand out feature at this park is what I like to call the "Dog Beach". In the center of the park, there's an open grass and sand area leading up to a lake. Dogs can roam free and play with others while taking a dip in the water if they want. We met other friends here so that our dogs can enjoy one another. For a Saturday afternoon, there were plenty of people and dogs here yet it didn't feel overcrowded. Because there's so much sand, they also have dog stations to wash your pet off before leaving, which REALLY comes in handy. Everyone seemed friendly (people and dogs included). I'd definitely recommend this location for a fun day with your furry friend! read more

Pros- This dog park is great-- tons of separated fences with large areas to run around. The lake is super fun for your dog, too. Loved that there were multiple "bathing" stations to clean off your dog at the end of their playtime in the water, and they were really clean, too! Cons- the fenced in area which includes the lake does not fence in the entire lake. We were shocked to arrive and see that the "wet" portion of the park with the lake was essentially a couple hundred feet of land, and the wide open lake. The fence goes partially around the lake, but the shoreline beyond the fence makes it very easy for your dog to swim AROUND the fence onto the UNFENCED shoreline, into the parking lot, and the street beyond (if they're quick)! Most dogs are smart enough to not stray beyond the fence that's partially blocking "wide open" access to the exit of the park, but a few dogs got around the fence during our time at the park. Not good, and this is why I give this park 4 stars instead of 5. The picture I'm posting is from a video we took during our trip, sorry about the clarity. We took our smaller dogs to this park for the first time today and LOVED IT. There are areas for all sizes of dogs, as well as timid dogs. We have a 9 month old schnoodle puppy who is just learning to be socialized, and a 9 year old toy schnauzer who suffers from anxiety. We went into the timid yard and they had a blast with the other dogs in there. The owners were nice and aware of their dogs behaviors as well. We also took them for a walk around the park which is very clean and nice, well maintained. While it is a drive for us from Chandler, it is totally worth it for our pups to get good leash-free run around time. We will be here regularly. read more

Back home in California, we are regulars at our local dog park, and were looking for a go-to spot while staying in Arizona so our pup had space to run around and get some energy out. We were invited to visit Cosmo Dog Park by a coworker and were excited to check out this new place. We are staying in Phoenix, so this dog park was quite a drive away (about 40 min), but we were intrigued by the lake and extensive hours (5 AM-10 PM every day except Tuesday)! The dog park is expansive with several on and off-leash areas: the lake area and separate spaces for active and timid dogs. We spent a majority of our time in the lake area, allowing our dog to cool off, explore the water, and watch other dogs play fetch and swim around. She even took a jump herself and swam for the first time which was exciting to see--however, be careful if your dog does not know how to swim because there is a drop off they may not see and I wouldn't recommend jumping in that water unless you have to. The park is well-stocked with poop bags + trash cans as well as a few wash areas to rinse your pup off after playing around in the sand/lake (the lake is reclaimed water and isn't the cleanest but we didn't have any issues with it). From what we could see, the park was generally well kept, though like most dog parks, some humans were inattentive and not the best at picking up their dogs' poop. I went one afternoon I was the only person wearing a mask in the park for some time and it was pretty busy, so be wary if you are immunocompromised or otherwise worried about COVID. Overall, lots of variety for dogs of any size and demeanor, just be an attentive and respectful owner and have fun! read more

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the overall condition of the dog park has degraded a lot. The only pen that has any grass is the upper timid pen. The other enclosures are basically dirt. It didn't use to be this way. read more

This dog park is awesome! There's a huge lake and beach my area for the dogs to play and even has a little "diving board" for the dogs to jump in the water from! Wish we found this place sooner! Our 11 mo. old loved it! There were several water fountains and even a hose to wash your dog off as you're exiting the park. This is the filthiest dog park I've ever been to. The water is disgusting and filled with algae and feces. I took my dog here last Friday and she wanted to swim in it so bad, so I let her, but after seeing he drink the water I IMMEDIATELY pulled her out. Less than a week later my dog wakes up at 4 am with blood coming out of her rectum!!! I have to warn every dog owner out there NEVER to take your dog to this park!! Diseases are floating in the water and will get your dog very sick!! Not to mention that actual DEAD BODIES have been found floating in the pond. This park is a hazard and anyone who cares about the well being of their dog should NOT take their dog here. If I could give it less than 1 star I would. read more

Cosmo Dog Park - Swimming area for the dogs - Dog Parks Near Me - Gilbert, Arizona

Cosmo is great! The park consists of four areas - the main area with water, two large dog fenced areas, and one small dog area. The water area makes me nervous because it's not difficult for my dog to walk along the edge, under the fence, and out into the insecure area leading to the parking lot. He's done it enough that we don't go to that side anymore. Anyway, we still love coming here and going to just the grass fenced in areas. There's usually a good amount of dogs here to socialize with. Each of the large dog areas have a different "agility" type structure. One is a triangle wall and the other is a zig zag raised platform. There are areas with hoses to wash your dog off afterwards if needed - for water and non-water areas.
