Inside our Arancini at the Cosa Nostra Pasta Truck.
    Jason F.

A food truck that serves freshly made pasta dishes from scratch? Colored me surprised that Cosa Nostra Pasta Truck is not only around, but thriving in various locations they happen to make throughout the East Bay thanks to being based out of Berkeley. Fresh and traditional Italian dishes, including house made pastas are all here. Made with all the seasonal and local ingredients that one would expect out of an Italian restaurant, just this venue isn't what one would expect: a mobile food truck, and a nice one at that. They even smartly showcase all of their raw pasta noodles freshly rolled into balls ready to be boiled and rice balls ready to be fried in a window right in front of their food truck, talk about truth in advertising! I happened to discover Cosa Nostra after attending an event at the nearby Craneway Pavilion in Richmond and as luck would have it, they were the only food truck on the premises, so as our party was leaving for our cars we noticed the Cosa Nostra parked and we were intrigued with the menu as they smartly showed off six of their specialty pasta dishes that were as varied as as a Vegetarian Pasta Primavera to a Spaghetti Tomato Ragu with Meatballs. They even have a build your own pasta dish section on their menu. Even though I wasn't super hungry, I knew I had to order something as I really was intrigued with how the pasta was made in a little mobile kitchen. So I ordered Tony's Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken and Mushrooms, and my fellow diner ordered the Pappardelle Alfredo with Italian Sausage and Mushrooms, and we decided to split a serving of their Herb Foccacia Bread, in addition to one appetizer they have on their menu their Four Cheese Arancini, which were stuffed rice balls coated in bread crumbs then deep fried and served with a side of Marinara sauce. Every pasta dish was rich and creamy and filled with an abundance of ingredients so much so I only finished half of my meal and took the rest home thanks to the handy to-go box that my meal was served in. I found the bread warm with every bite and nicely seasoned with plenty of herbs. The only thing was I found the Arancini balls lacking in style and flavor, so much so I chose not to even finish the one ball I sampled so that was a real disappointment. My total bill was fourteen dollars total, and for a complete meal like this you cannot beat a price like that. Would I return to sample more dishes from the Costa Nostra Pasta Truck in the future? In an Italian minute, just so I could sample more of their flavorful dishes and to try that Pistachio Cannoli that was calling my name but I didn't seem to have room for this time around, but next time, they may not be so lucky!

    Love food trucks!

Wow! One of the best - if not the best food truck I have tried. The Arancinis are outstanding! The spaghetti sausage is a great quick pick. They did a really great job with my wife's build your own pasta creation. They got the food out pretty quick even with the build your own in the mix. The truck crew were friendly and they started serving when they were scheduled. The price is reasonable for a Bay Area food truck. I hope they visit WC again soon!

Finally - a food truck that doesn't overcharge for their food! I got to try Cosa Nostra when they were at the entrance of East Brother Beer Company in Richmond and it was the perfect meal to have with my flights of beer. You can either choose one of their specialty pastas or create your own (choice of type of pasta, sauce, meats, and vegetables). I got everything except the vegetables and it came to $11. I got the pappardelle pasta with arrabiata sauce (spicy tomato sauce) and meatballs and it was absolutely delicious. The pappardelle was perfectly al dente and the meatballs were perfectly cooked. I'm craving it as I type this. My husband got Tony's fettuccini Alfredo, which he really enjoyed as well. It was $12. Would go back in a heartbeat. Service was also very friendly and prompt.

Oh mah word! A pasta food truck! Yay! I had this food truck at Off the Grid in El Cerrito, Concord, and Pleasant Hill. Their pasta is amazing, freshly made with great taste. I love the Fettuccini Tomato Ragu and George Spaghetti with Italian Sausage. Wow! It is amazing and can fill my stomach up if I come back for seconds. This truck has the potential to be a success no matter if it is at Off the Grid, Food Emporium, Food Truck Mafia they will do great!

A 100% fresh, made to order, Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken and Mushrooms.

I'm coming back! Not too often you find a decent Italian restaurant but hold on, a decent, sorry, a great Italian food truck? It does exist let me tell you. When it comes to food there are some dishes you can't make to look like Michael Angelo murals and some like the Fettuccine Alfredo I enjoyed from this kitchen that won't ever need to be. This truck might make the fresh prince of bel air look stale. There's nothing like a chef in his element and the man responsible for this food is no exception. As I'm walking up, I see fresh ingredients going from one pan to another, the smells change almost as frequently as the sounds in the kitchen but gracefully as if the foods taking in all the passion and expertise the chef is putting into it. Nothing is sitting in a warmer, or being recessitated. These guys compensate you for the chance you take when you decide to try something new and pick theyre menu over what might be your all time favorite or ecen a family tradition, at least I have absolutely no complaints! Thank you!

FRESH PASTA on a truck!??!?!?! yes please. This place has a variety of pastas at an affordable price and travels throughout the berkeley , richmond area. This is the first of its kind and it's such a great idea. I mean, who doesn't love some pasta? This is one of the better food trucks around. Super simple to order and customize your order if needed. The wait time is about ten to fifteen minutes after ordering for your pasta to be ready. It is super creamy and soft. Well, what are you waiting for?!?!? Get your pasta on!

For weeks, Nostra Pasta Truck was hyped up to me daily. Almost every day I heard about how amazing this food truck is. I love food trucks, and a lot of times I think they serve better food than restaurants, but Nostra was starting to sound like the food truck of the gods. Off the Grid was surprisingly empty on the night we went, which is very unlike OTG. The emptiness worked in our favor, however, providing zero wait in line. Under one of the trucks windows is a sign that reads "Fresh made pasta", and directly below is a tray of said pasta, and it looked phenomenal. The menu is simple: You can either choose from one of three different pasta specials, or create your own using a variety of pasta, meats, sauces, and vegetables. I ordered the George's Spaghetti Special, which simply consists of spaghetti noodles, Italian sausage, tomato sauce, and cooked onions. The dish screams simplicity, and a louder scream screams DELICIOUS. Homemade pasta tastes miles above anything else. Pasta is the kind of food that you can definitely tastes when it's processed and when it's homemade, and the latter is something that just can't be beat. The sausage had a small spicy kick, but nothing overpowering, and tasted amazing, as did the sauce. After devouring my pasta, I realized what all the hype was about. This food truck is easily one of my favorite food trucks ever.

Prices are a little bit high.. but this pasta is really good. I had the spaghetti with basil pasta sauce and I will say it was delicious and worth the money. I don't recall ever having noodles this delicious. Service was quick. Very good pasta, would recommend.

This was the best pasta.if I had an Italian grandma this is how she would have made it.grazie

Currently parked off of Lone Tree at the Waterpark for Food Truck Thursday & Pipo & I ordered Pasta Primavera & the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken and Mushrooms. I'm slightly embarrassed. I don't really like mushrooms, but Pipo eats it for me as I feel bad for asking for food without... the chef saw me giving it to her and was so kind to ask me if I would like him to remake it without mushrooms. It was such a nice offer, which I didn't take because the food itself was delicious! Thank you for the kind offer and I hope that the chef didn't think I didn't like the food. On the contrary, it was creamy and the pasta was cooked al dente thank you so much!

Cosa Nostra is the best food truck in the bay area, and I cannot get enough of their fresh, delicious pasta. Every time I see them in the line up for Off the Grid (Pleasant Hill) it Taste of the World Market (Walnut Creek), I have to stop and visit them. My go to is the fettuccine with creamy tomato sauce and beef ragu. It is absolutely delicious! But you can't go wrong with any of their pastas. Everything is amazing, and the pasta is made fresh.
