I've been going here for 4 months now and have yet to receive any pain relief or quality care. I'm very limited as to where I can go via insurance and my location. Dr. Rask is nice enough, but doesn't seem to understand how much pain I'm in and how limited my life is because of the pain. I'm homebound 90% of the time. I move from my bedroom bed to the livingroom bed during the day. It takes me forever to cook something. I mostly eat easy fast things. I can't stand very long at one time. I feel they have way too many patience because it takes at least a month to get an appt. and they run it more like a business than a clinic that actually cares. $$$ Also, had a telehealth appt with Christopher Smith and he was rude and unsympathetic to my concerns. read more

My appt was the worst! Nurse Practitioner had the worst bedside manner! No sympathy whatsoever. He was rude! Told me there's nothing they can do for me. I have Ehlers Danlos with painful areas in my neck, back, massive headaches & knee pain. I have neck surgery coming up this Winter so there's obviously something serious that is causing the pain. I've had 18 surgeries since 2016. I just had back surgery, neck surgery coming, gastric sleeve this December and fallen vaginal surgery in the Winter. I also have many other chronic conditions. I'm in pain everyday. Tylenol & Ibuprofen do not work. I don't need Oxycodone every day, but I need it when my pain gets unbearable. I'm very disappointed with the experience. Terrible providers. I was on tramadol four times a day gabapentin 600 mg three times a day Flexeril one time a day. And it wasn't getting any better finally after three years of being sick finally found out that the medication's were poisoning me but yet pain management just kept giving it to me no matter what my blood pressure was no matter how much I said that I was sick for two weeks at a time. Well ended up having I had adrenal failure and then I'm heart attack. Why because those three medications were literally killing me when my heart attack happened. I got off all those meds and I haven't been sick since these guys act like they're God. And they're not they're a bunch of chumps Telling you have this electrical thing putting in your back and have this and that done to you it doesn't work you got back problems. My insurance approves things quickly, but the office staff at Corvallis Pain Management kept saying it was a hold up by the insurance. It wasn't. It took over 3 months from my first contact to get an epidural injection. The front desk staff can be abrupt as well. I always recieved good Care from my Dr Jason Smith, but as far as billing, they didn't bill me for two years! upon trying to make my payment, they didn't have their billing department head leaderfor about two years and then called me one day, mind I was still going there, told me exactly, We are kicking you out if you don't pay over $500.00!!!!! By your next appointment which was in one week! So I was kicked out and sent to collections. to me it was all handled Very Unprofessional! Ok so first off let me say Doc Rask is great!! He was great when I first meet him to see about my back issue. And he was great when it came time for shoots in my back. And was a huge improvement over a different Doc in a different state. Its long one sorry folks buts all true!! Now on to the horrible side of the story that so many of us have had here. Brittney the front office person. So not very nice and is just flat out dishonest. I had trouble getting through on the phone after sitting on hold for over 20 minutes twice in one day. I was calling to find out if my insurance had approved my shoots. well I gave up clocked out of work and drove down there and had to walk into the office to get it figured out. i waited for her to help a customer, next was my turn i told her who i was and wanted to know if they had heard back she told no i was not approved yet and could 4-5 weeks, this is after waiting a week from seeing the doc, who said it should be about a week. I said ok and I tried to explain to her that it would have been nice if she would not have thrown me on hold for that long 2 times. I left and called my insurance company only to find out that i was approved the same day the doc sent the paper work in. Then the lady had enough never to try and lye to the office manger or the manger lied to cover for her that I was yelling at her. And stated to the insurance company that they would refuse to work with me if i acted that way again. Lucky the insurance lady did not fall for their tricks and lies. And was on the phone with us while they told them. Wait the story doesn't stop there. I go get my shots, and I tell the Doc my issues he says sorry. And I should be getting a follow up call from his office for a follow up appt. so I wait over a week after my shoots and no call(go figure right) So I try and do the right thing and call and I get put on hold again but lucky for me i got picked up after 8 min and 56 seconds of hold this time. set appt to see doc Rask, a few days later I get a text reminder I have a up coming doc appt but it states with a different Doc well that's not right so I call and get put on hold again she got better this time it was only like 6 min and 23 sec call I this time. i tell her I think there is a miss take cause i made appt with Doc Rask she says no I have to see this other doc!! And I ask why cause I dont know him and he is not the one that did the shoots, she states cause that what her office manager put in there and that's the way it is going to be, I find this very strange being I dont know of this doc and he has not done anything with me so far, I ask if I can talk to the office manager to find out why I have to see this other Doc, Nope I cant talk to him cause he is out of office. So at this point I am like these people are crazy and I tell her to cancel my follow up appt cause I don't really want to see a doc that has nothing to do with me, she then says no she is not going to cancel the appt, ((what??)) I tell her I am not going to come in on that appt date to see a doc I don't know and to remove me, She says and I tell her I will set a new appt when i talk to the office manager. She finally agrees to remove me from the appt calendar, And say she will have him call me. after about 5 mins pass of hanging up I get a robo call, yep calling to confirm my appt. So to those that think I was mean or Jerk you are so very wrong. I work customer service, I did customer service sales for 17 years before my current job. I will never treat a server with a lack of respect from the start, and very seldom will I go down the road even if they do, as I know we all have bad days. Although Dr. Rask and his staff were nice at times, I am still having complications and pain over 10 weeks later after a ganglion impar nerve block that resulted in a hematoma on my spinal nerve. Instead of pain relief from chronic pelvic pain, I had to spend the day in the ER and then be admitted to the hospital with thousand of dollars of bills and extreme 10 out of 10 pain for weeks. Dr Rask tried to do what he could but I will say it was extremely hard to get a hold of anyone at the front desk it usually took 20 minutes on hold. I have never written a bad review, no matter how dissatisfied I have been with a service or product. As a new patient I filled out an enormous amount of paperwork for the Corvallis Pain Management center and even though it was on an iPad and easier than filling it out by hand, the information was more than I felt necessary to treat my case. One of the questions was"How long are you able to sit?" My answer was 15 to 20 minutes max. I sat n that office for 2 hours before seeing the doctor for about 15 minutes only to have him tell me I needed an MRI before he could do anything. I was in so much pain by then I didn't bother to complain because all I wanted to do was get home. I agree with another critique which mentioned that the staff was not exactly the friendliest. If I I knew of another pain management center I would go there. read more

I do not recommend this place. I am 22 years old dealing with chronic back pain and I went here hoping to get some type of steroid shot (which I have had before) or some medication to relieve the pain. At this point I had been in physical therapy for 6 months and I told the doctor I had a history of bulging discs since I was young and thought one of my discs might have herniated. He proceeded to laugh and said I'd be in a lot more pain than I was right now. When I went home to Arizona, I got an MRI and I actually had 3 herniated discs. I never went back there. It is very unprofessional to laugh and assume any patient is not in pain because they are young and look healthy when I reality I felt pain every day for more than 6 months. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE! My husband has a back issue that has been extremely hard to fix. He is in constant pain and has always been apposed to pain killers. He very rarely used thc to help him sleep. He made Dr. Rask aware on multiple occasions that this was the case. He decided that the pain was too intense to live with, so he agreed to try the pain killer route. He was asked to take a drug test after a couple months of use, and it resulted in a trace amount of thc in his system because he used an edible for sleep a few days prior. When he went back for his follow up, the nurse practitioner told him that he was cutting his pain medication off because he was positive for thc. The doctors were well aware that he had used a very small amount in the past and said nothing about the possibility of this effecting his pain medication prescription. when I called to clarify this situation, I spoke with the office manager Jillian. I could not believe how rude and cold this woman was. I was very professional when speaking to her, yet she treated me as if my husband was a drug addict. She told me that she would look into it and call me back on Monday. I had my husband call her back Monday because I did not think I would resond to her as well as I did the first time. I am over 80 years of age and have been to see doctors many many times in my life, but I have never ever experienced the total incompetence that I experienced with the staff at Corvallis Pain Management, I could not believe how many times they dropped the ball with getting authorization from my insurance and setting up appointments and not answering the phones or returning calls. I sympathize with the doctors here as they are getting the bad name because of their staff but then on the other hand they are allowing their rude incompetent staff to remain on working there even though they cause so many issues for patients. Terrible, awful doctors. I have an incurable disease that is considered the most painful condition known to medicine that they may have been able to diagnose, treat and force into remission had they even bothered to examine my affected ankle. Jared spent less than 5 minutes with me during my initial visit, didn't ask about my symptoms, didn't examine me, looked at an mri and prescribed a procedure that did nothing. The other two weren't any better. None of them even read my referral or intake notes. Completely clueless and greedy. Less than zero compassion. I suffered for over a year and half without a diagnosis and deeply resent the time I wasted at this clinic and the dismissive, even hostile, manner with which they treated me. I am now being treated at Stanford University, as my disease is in an advanced stage, no thanks to this horrible pain clinic. read more

Breach in patient confidentiality. I have been receiving text messages for a patient that receives care there. Some of these text messages contain links that direct you to the patient portal or to pay your bill. I have called in and told them and asked that they remove my number because it is incorrect and to verify with the patient the correct phone number. I have even opted out of these messages and continue to get them, plus phone calls. So, thanks to their office and inability to do their job correctly or correct their mistakes I know this patients name, and when their appts are, how much their insurance covers for their visit, etc. read more

I have been waiting 6 days and they considered my request Urgent. Dr Rask is patient and compassionate. The facility is clean and easy to access. BUT... communication with this practice is both irritating and non-functional. They NEVER answer their phones, and it appears that if you leave a message they don't want they ignore it. I had to cancel an appointment but could not get through because the phone system was down, which meant also email and text were not available. I made several attempts to cancel the appointment but was unable to make the cancelation with more than a 24 hour window due to their technical failure. They had the nerve to charge me for it. Then I had another appointment I needed to cancel (I've had more than a dozen appointments in this practice, and had to cancel two). I canceled weeks in advance via voicemail. When I got home I found a voicemail stating I had to call them to confirm I wanted to cancel. I could not at the time as I was not in an area that had any signal. Then I got no less than 8 appointment reminders, notwithstanding that I called again and again stating I would be unable to make the appointment. I had to finally drag myself out of my sickbed and go into the office and cancel it, only to find that my cancelation was complete news to them. AND when I got home I had ANOTHER appointment reminder. I never got any pain relief, though I am not certain it was a failure on Dr Rask's part, but the way the office is run is hideously awful and I recommend avoiding this practice completely read more

From my standpoint , the front office has been great ! Very accomadating and very effiecient at what they do and also very kind to boot . My guess, with all the negative reviews in this field of "pain management" a lot of people are addicted to pain medication and are "jones'n to get more at any cost. Pain is real and I'm not denying that, but so is addiction to what relieves that pain. Dr. Rask has his people there for a reason, not by oversight or accident and they are not going away anytime soon. Pain addiction is very real and very sad . Dr. Rask - get rid of your rude, unprofessional office staff!!! I have a spine stimulator in my back that has moved out of place, so the StimWave rep recommended Dr. Rask to fix it. I followed the phone instructions and got an appointment. I hadn't spoken to a real person, so I called to confirm, and was on hold the whole time I was driving over. When I got inside, waited, standing there, no one said "have a seat in the waiting area". Finally, the skinny guy asked my name. He told me I didn't have an appointment, and that I needed to get a referral and records. (I would have done that if they answered their phone). I told them I thought they were being rude, and Brittany says "couldn't you guess we were on the phone?" sarcastically. I finished talking to the skinny kid, and Brittany got up from her desk and pushed past me (instead of saying, "excuse me, I need to get past you") completely violating their own rules about 6 ft social distancing. I went to Corvallis Pain Management because my surgeon sent me there for pain relief after 2 unsuccessful knee replacement surgeries. I had a diagnostic procedure with Dr. Rask, who was great, where I had to rate my pain for the following 8 hours. At the follow-up appointment I told the PA, Jason Smith, that I didn't think it worked, and he didn't say anything other than to prescribe me a cream for the inflamed nerves which was not covered by my insurance. When I told my surgeon some days later about the pain rating scores, he told me the procedure worked and told me why. I was a candidate for the next procedure after all that would give me relief for months or even up to 2 years. For this reason and especially for another reason, I will never use CPM again. The second reason is because their receptionists are the rudest and most hostile people I've ever met. No matter what the communication between us, they respond with hostility and anger. I would think that when patients come in with chronic pain that compassion and respect would be the way to behave. Not them. I began to dread ever having to call there with my questions. Additionally, I've never had such a difficult time getting through to their phone lines or getting a response to my questions, which one time took 4 days. I've been put on hold for 20 minutes at a time before anyone answers and then they just ask if I can hold a moment. No, I can't! I've already been holding for a long time! Why don't they hire more staff? This place is unprofessional, unfriendly, and definitely not a place to feel cared for or be reassured that there is a chance to get relief from chronic pain. I was treated very rudely! The person up front told me I was seeing a doctor. I had been told I was seeing a PA! She proceeds to tell me I had to pay $40! I don't carry a lot of cash. I asked her what could I do? I left the window to see if I had enough in my account. She yells at me "what are you going to do?" I told her I needed to call my bank. "May I use your phone?" She said no, she was not tying up their lines, she would just reschedule. I was in pain, drove all the way from Albany! In tears, I told her how unprofessional they were, not even dressed properly. Although Dr. Rask is knowledgeable about his work, front office are unprofessional, rude, generally unable and unwilling to accommodate a basic level of service and customer satisfaction. Over the course of the last few months, my general experience with Corvallis Pain Management as been unsatisfactory. Most recently in a series of problematic interactions with Corvallis Pain Management, I called three times prior to a morning appointment to get clarification about the location of the appointment since I had to travel a from another city, and finally spoke on the phone with a receptionist after I had arrived at the Asbury Building, the location of a previous appointment. I confirmed the current appointment with the receptionist, and arrived at the correct location across town a few minutes later. Unfortunately, after arriving at the downtown Corvallis office, I was told I was "late," so the appointment needed to be rescheduled: A complete waste of nearly the entire morning, my time, the doctor's time, travel, and work time due to the inability of front office staff to provide accurate information and good customer service. I recommend looking elsewhere for pain management services; it might actually save you from some pain. read more

This facility has the worst office staff ever!! 2 times now in a year I've had appointments for surgical procedures get canceled. Not a big deal except they forgot to inform me until I was at the surgery center! Then they claim they called which my phone shows otherwise. The office staff lied about calling multiple times then hung up on me. When I called back then they started playing the hold game. This I know because while on hold I used another phone to call several times and I got an answer while still on hold on the other line. The manger then called and listened to me for 2 min then "told" me how it happened (of course they did no wrong) and dismissed me as a patient and hung up! Absolutely unacceptable! I Am a 50yo male mechanic and have waited for almost a year for this procedure, I am in pain 3-5 days a week and HATE pain medicine. This cost me roughly 300.00 in lost wages plus I had ride home set up as well as arranged for my car to get delivered home. Being told to "suck it up" tends to upset a person, maybe they should wear some of their patients shoes once and a while to humble them a bit. First time I had a problem I showed up to my appointment 2 min late then stood in line for another 5 min waiting to check in. The receptionist (same one) then looks at the clock and says I'm 9 min late and will have to reschedule! It was 9:00am, and they are 20 min drive from me and I have to take a minimum of 2 hours off work.. I explained that I was only 2 min late and she saw me arrive and stand in line,,, didn't matter I ended up re scheduling anyways. Then I show up 5 min early and end up sitting in the waiting room for 33 minutes before being called back??? Both appointments were because after 9 months I need my pain medicine refilled but they said the doctor need to see me first. When the doctor did see me,,, I simply said I needed meds so he called in a script and that was it, I was in his office for maybe 4 minutes total.... I suggest if you have to use them to record your calls! BTW, I NEVER leave reviews, this is literally my first if that tells you how irritated they have me over this... Had me come in after being on medication for over a week for a drug test, and a pill count and were degrading. Treated me like I was drug seeking. This is the worst run medical clinic I have ever been to. My 89 year old mother and my 45 year old daughter are both patients and I drive them both to their appts. They have messed up my moms rx every time it's fue for a refill. It takes 4-5 phone calls to the pharmacy and clinic toget a refill. For Tramadol for goodness sakes. The P.A. assistant blatantly lied today to my daughter about reviewing her MRI results with her. She hasn't been in since her MRI. Her MRI was on 12-22-19 and her first appt since was today, which the clinic canceled on their own. We were told her appt following the MRI was on 1-6-20 @ 10am. We showed up and were told "oh no her appt is on 1-16-20, today. Her pain level has been through the roof for months on end with no relief. When we show up for appt they ssy it was canceled by us. Then once I received a bill I payed it off only to have them go another year without billing me! The new Billing Staff began calling, texting and e mailing me constantly, I explained my position of not being able to pay another big chunk of money at once and was told "I was KICKED OUT and called a liar when the Very Rude Office Manager called me to tell me she didn't say that!!!
