Absolutely amazing stuff and its outcome. The difference of before and after just about made me cry. A very old hearing to start, but that didn't stop these guys. A thorough test, a real test for everything under the sun. When done they figured out how to fix the hearing aid and reprogrammed it. Then a retest for the relevant parts. Very scientific. I can't imagine a better outcome, highly recommend it, i mean it, Ron Leavitt is extremely knowledgeable, and so is his staff. Professional, personable. What more can one ask? They probably had a chance to profit more by encouraging me to get a newer hearing aid, but they did what was best for me. I am 81 and can hear again. The front office staff were pleasant and helpful, but the good service ended there. During the hearing test I got dizzy so we stopped for a moment. The doctor and technician offered that after a few minutes we could resume the test OR that I could go home and return to finish the test. Apparently I made the bad choice: I was not allowed for set another appointment. I returned the next day to try to schedule the hearing test. With advice from the back office technician, the receptionist was prompted on how to deal with me. They said the hearing test results were mailed to my primary care dr. Crazy--I am the patient and the doctor or technician should talk to ME. When I persevered with the staff to schedule a time to finish the hearing test and time to TALK TO ME. The technician came front to grudgingly agree to schedule "only one more appointment." I was granted an appointment 4 months out. When I contacted my primary dr. to get the results found at my first appointment she said that she had not received my audiology report, and if she had the results she would not be able to take action on them. Our best solution was to get a different referral and start over. I found my way to a great audiologist, fully worth the drive out of town. Makes me wonder how they stay in business? read more

Just had the best experience. We are here in Corvallis visiting family. And my rechargeable battery died. Nikki was very informative. After hearing her, I decided to get the non rechargeable batteries. Very inexpensive. She had me text her when I arrived. She brought out the batteries. I paid her and didn't need to go inside. She was very cheerful and I was very happy with my experience. I've put them in my contacts in case I need them again. read more

I am so appreciative of Dr. Leavitt, Nikki and the staff at the Corvallis Hearing Center. Dr. Leavitt took the time to investigate an issue I had had and found out what was going on - versus another local doctor who told me I had a degenerative hearing issue, which turned out to be false. Dr. Leavitt worked with DHS to get me a massive discount on my hearing aids, is professional and knows what he's doing. I'd always highly recommend! read more

Below is an email I sent to them, still haven't heard back. I have somehow passed some threshold of questions I can ask and get answers. Dr. Ron Leavitt, One of the main reasons we chose your business was because Brenda was so impressed with how the staff and you dealt with Doris each time she brought Doris for a hearing appointment. Another was that Nikki spent a fair amount of time answering my questions, in excellent detail, at least two or three times before Brenda had her first visit. During the appointment I was impressed with the equipment you used to verify Brenda's hearing loss. Plus your in-depth discussions of potential side effects of not correcting Brenda's loss. Additionally your breadth of knowledge and ability to answer all my questions made me feel we were in the right place. Additionally I have watched, I think all, of the videos on your website and gleaned further information. Where it all falls apart is in the absolute denial to answer any further questions I have asked. I sent an email to corvallishearing@betterhearingus.com on August 30th entitled "I need to understand the Resound Pulse capabilities better." Although I did manage to find some answers to my questions in the videos, I could not find answers to all my questions. My last two questions require a human response and they have yet to be answered. The only response I received, from whomever answered the phone, was that the questions would be passed onto Nikki, but she was with a client and behind in returning phone calls. Unfortunately I did not record the dates on when I placed those calls. While at Brenda's appointment we were told it would be about 3 to 3 1/2 weeks to get the Resound Pulse hearing aids you recommended. I personally called in the next morning and requested those hearing aids. It has now been around 6 weeks since and no notification of the expected delivery date. So now I have a new question. Is this how we can expect to be treated from now on? read more

I originally went there just because it was covered with my insurance, well the initial test was done and first you only see the actual Dr for the actual test, comes in looking like a rock star, then leaves then all his female no male assistants at all in whole facility except the rock star, kinda weird, but then was told what hearing aides I was getting never even had a choice in the matter they measured decided for me and never heard back from them till I kept calling them and finally when I said to cancel the order I got a call back from the audiologist another female assistant, who said they came in try them out well they suck, you can't turn the volume up or down for your self at all the computer sets it for you and that's it , very aggravating so the only time I got any break from anything wS when I took them out , well that was at 53 percent then 75 and it wS literally HELL at 100 percent , I couldn't turn them down at all so loud situations forget I wanted to throw them across the room , but I explained this to the audiologist and her answer wS a more expensive pair that my insurance will still only pay half , I told her I don't have the money for these why would I have the money for more expensive of a pai and hung up,Vince then I have returned them to their mail box, hoping they don't put someone else through this hell... read more

Without having any recommendations for an audiologist, I went to this clinic because it was on a prominent road and I pass by it all the time. One of the first things the audiologist did was to give me a little booklet that he had put together. He showed me a couple of pages and then a page with all the major manufacturers, and told me that he didn't like any of them except one, which he always recommends. The tests did not take a long time, and after they were complete, he showed me a graph of my hearing loss, and said I needed hearing aids, and that he wishes I had taken the test earlier. I agreed to go ahead and get them, and I went with the most expensive ones because they were rechargeable ($3000 each). As soon as I said yes, he started filling me ear up with some sort of molding material (so of course I couldn't hear anything out of that ear at all. While this was happening a young woman held color samples in front of me and asked which I wanted. The visit seemed rushed and not very personal. After getting home, I decided that I should get a second opinion if I was going to spend $6000 and I made an appointment with Audiology Associates (reviewed separately). The difference was like night and day. My appointment at AA took over 2 hours. A lot of time was spent explaining about hearing loss--educating me about what it was all about--a big poster of an ear and everything! They ran the same tests as the Corvallis Hearing Center, but several additional ones. The results were completely explained to me. He also agreed that I needed hearing aids, and recommended a different brand that the first guy, and these were a few hundred dollars less. Anyway, this whole post is to say, that the Corvallis Hearing Center was OK, but no comparison to Audiology Associates. read more

They are expert at using fancy technology to demonstrate how you need a $5000 set of hearing aids. Once you have gotten the sales pitch from Dr. Leavitt, you probably won't see him again. On return visits, plan never to be seen at the time they have you scheduled for. Plus you will just get an insincere "sorry" if you complain. About the hearing aids...they made my environment too loud, so they sit in a drawer. Would rather hear my natural way. read more
