DO NOT LIVE HERE - Worst Experience of My Life
My time at this apartment complex was nothing short of a nightmare. I lived there for 2.5 years, and in that time, I experienced some of the worst management and living conditions I've ever had to deal with.
Maintenance and Safety Issues
The maintenance in this building is abysmal. I submitted countless requests, many of which took weeks to be addressed, if they were even addressed at all. My tub faucet dripped constantly, and despite multiple visits, it was never properly fixed. The heat in my apartment didn't work due to the building's mistake, and the only solution I was offered was a space heater. To make matters worse, a maintenance man once came in, left for hours, and then returned as if nothing had happened.
Safety was another major concern. The gym was supposed to be a secure space, but the locks were constantly broken. One morning, while I was working out, a homeless man on drugs wandered in, acting erratically. This wasn't an isolated incident - homeless people were frequently on the property, visibly doing drugs, lying on the ground, or using the bathroom. At one point I found needles and blood in the bathroom closest to the gym. The building's doors were often open and broken, allowing anyone to wander in. Despite numerous complaints, management did nothing to resolve these issues.
Unfair Charges and Lack of Transparency
The financial dealings with this complex were equally outrageous. My rent increased drastically every year, starting at $1,618 and eventually reaching $1,987, while the condition of the apartment only worsened. Utilities were another major issue - what was originally around $125 a month suddenly spiked to roughly $500 in the last two months of my lease. Despite repeated inquiries, no one could or would provide an explanation.
The final straw was the move-out process. After leaving the apartment, I was slapped with charges I didn't agree with, and my $800 deposit was reduced to a mere $6 refund. When I asked for an explanation or proof, I was completely ignored. Roughly a month later, I was told I would get an email with pictures of proof of what they used my deposit for. It's been roughly 3 months now and I am still waiting on this.
Negligence and Poor Living Conditions
Living conditions in this complex were consistently poor. Water damage was a constant problem, with fans left running in the hallways for weeks. The treadmill in the gym was perpetually broken, and despite promises to fix it, nothing was done. The blinds in my apartment were literally taped up and barely holding on when I moved in - a clear indication that they didn't care about preparing the apartment for new tenants.
The hallway outside my apartment was once filled with carbon monoxide from hired carpet cleaners, and no one bothered to check if the tenants, including myself and my cat, were still inside. Both of us got sick, and yet, management never followed up or informed anyone in the building about what had happened. This level of negligence is unacceptable and dangerous.
Conclusion
The management at this complex is unresponsive, unprofessional, and downright negligent. They are quick to take your money but refuse to address any issues or concerns. I strongly advise anyone considering this complex to stay far away. My experience here was beyond frustrating, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. read more
