The massage was decent but waiting 3 hours to get it was not so awesome. Why don't they take appointments??

Initially, I intended to enroll in the radiologic technology program, which is also offered at Pima. However, after discovering the surgical technology program by a complete accident during a site visit, I thought it is the best decision I've ever made since. My experience at Pima was quite unique and embedded with lots of good memories, especially with friends whom I met from the same cohort. The instructors were genuinely kind and truly cared about the success of each individual student. The didactic curriculum was reasonably structured with concomitant hands-on experience in the surgical simulation lab which I thought was extremely beneficial in terms of preparation for the clinical rotation. The simulation operating room was well-equipped and set up, which offered a great opportunity to practice and master your clinical skills. Ms. Van, our lab instructor and lecturer, was super helpful and passionate about teaching. It appeared naturally to me that she really enjoyed teaching, especially when it came to the skill demonstration during the simulation lab. Approximately two weeks after the start of my clinical rotation at the University Hospital as a surgical tech student, the peak of the COVID pandemic came by the end of March 2020. The hospital where I was rotating at was forced to enforce a restriction access policy, which essentially affected all students. My clinical rotation was inevitably suspended for three months. During that time, my clinical director continuously fought to find alternative clinical sites for all of us. In the end, I finally had a chance to complete my clinical hours at Denver Health hospital, which happened to be the place that I was employed and ended up working at as a certified surgical technologist. I loved my job and felt very confident in my skill competency thanks to everything that I was taught at Pima. I am currently a PA student at Chapman University in Irvine, CA. Every time I reflect on my educational journey and how it leads me on the path where I am today, it always reminds me of the wonderful people that I met at Pima and Denver Health along with the great memories that they left within me. It was being the surgical tech that gave me the motivation to pursue the dream of becoming a surgical PA. To any prospective students who are interested in or thinking about becoming a surgical technologist, I believe Pima Medical Institute (Denver, CO) is a great place for you to start. The faculty really set a high standard for the program, which can only be appreciated if you truly care about your surgical patients and their outcome and want to be a GREAT surgical technologist in the OR.

What a waste of my time!!…read more Here's the long story, in January 2025 I went in to talk about the X-ray tech training because I saw the advertisement outside the building. I talked to the advisor about the program and was told the next opening doesn't start until January 2026. I thought that's a long ways away but was told that will give me plenty of time to get ready, ok fine. A month later I had to take a test on the computer (I forgot the name of it) to get a good enough score. I got a 23 first time and then was told I should do it again so I had to come back a week later and I got a 25.I was told I got a good enough score and should be fine. A couple months later I went back in to see my advisor if I'm on the right track, at this point, I was now told the X-ray program won't start until March 11th, 2026. I thought that would've been nice to been told that sooner but whatever. So the next step was a face to face interview with the X-ray tech "head-lead" person. I had the interview on October 31, 2025 and I thought the interview went well. I was specifically told that I would know if I got in the program or not and that she would email me by the end of the first week of December, great. The end of the first week of December comes and no response, I wait another week, no response. I emailed my advisor, who in the past would get back to me in a timely matter, about whether I got in the program or not, no response!! I never heard back from this place. It's honestly so bizarre and I'm counting my blessings that I didn't just pay them $55,000. What gets me mad is the fact that I wasted a year dealing with this place and not doing something else that values my time. I knew the ratings for this place were bad, but I'm the type who still likes to see because maybe it's not as bad as people say. Well sadly it's true for me.

RefactorU throws a lot of information at you in a short time, but in a really well-structured way so that you actually have time to learn it all, and learn it all well. I'm astounded by how much I learned, and how dedicated the instructors were to supporting our experience: from TAs who come in on the weekends to offer help, to being responsive when not-totally-kosher sexist jokes were being made in class (hey, it's the tech industry, right?). They organize events with employers and recruiters to help you make connections. They know they only succeed when their students succeed, and they are all about that. My only complaint is that, being as successful as they are, they have been growing a lot, and for my personal learning style, our class was too big. We had 33 people, so there were quite a few of us sharing the instructors' attention. It was also often a very loud work environment (33 people in one room), which for me usually meant having to choose between leaving and going somewhere quiet to get work done, or being in a room where I have access to help from instructors and classmates. Overall, I'm glad I went and really impressed by what they accomplish as a school. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

I cannot imagine my life now without the skills and the friends I made and learned at RefactorU. I want to thank everyone there for being there for all of us in my cohort! The course is first rate, and I wouldn't trade my time there for the world. Chris in particular is an AMAZING instructor and human being, and the material presented truly did prepare me well for a real-world job as a developer. I made some great friends and got a great job (only took me 3 weeks after I graduated!), and I cannot tell you how happy I am. I solve puzzles every day, design beautiful websites, and go home every night happy (and well paid!). Thanks to everyone at RefactorU, I love what I do and do what I love.

I left every session feeling more excited to practice. Each brings a unique style and area of expertise and they take the time to demonstrate techniques, answer questions, and help you build confidence. They truly create a home where you can grow. The curriculum exposes you to a wide variety of massage modalities (such as myofascial release, deep tissue, cupping, Thai sports massage and many more) and this gives you a really well-rounded foundation. This definitely stood out during my internship interviews. I think one of the program's greatest strengths is the wide range of internship opportunities available. I gained experience in multiple clinical settings, private practice, a spa, and an acupuncture studio! I was fortunate to receive job offers from all 3 different locations before graduating! I wholeheartedly recommend this school to anyone looking for an outstanding massage therapy education. You're going to love it.

I join weekly to the online classes and spend the weeks studying the content provided to us in each lesson. I fly into Denver and stay with family to learn in person and acquire my hours for clinic. Believe it or not, it was a much better option than most of the schools I looked at in Hawaii! The teachers are all lovely- each has a unique skill set and takes the time to answer any questions or demonstrate any techniques! I love how the clinic hours are structured- each day I leave feeling inspired to step into my profession as a massage therapist. Highly recommend this program to anyone considering!
