I had received a previous degree from CU Boulder and nursing school made that degree feel easy. While there are some bad professors at the school, there are bad professors everywhere. I unfortunately ran into some issues with my original cohort and had to talk to a few people in the school to get switched. They were super supportive of my request and checked in with me every quarter following that. While I don't want to diminish others experiences at DCN, nursing school requires hours upon hours of outside studying. If you think you studied enough, there is always time for more. You will not have any outside time to really see friends or do what you love until the program is over. Those going into nursing school thinking they can barely study and get by, think again. DCN does require you to receive a 78% on cumulative exams to pass the class, which is higher than most nursing schools. I do want to mention that everyone in my cohort has passed the NGN NCLEX in 85 questions so while these reviews may be scary to a new student or someone looking around, it is worth it. It may feel unnecessarily hard but when you are done, you will be thankful. With that being said, take the good and the bad and consider everything. DCN is one of the few programs in Colorado that doesn't require an entrance exam if you have a previous degree which was a big selling point for me. I also want to say that Dr. K is the new dean at DCN and she is amazing! She does care about you and if you approach her with concerns she is understanding and checks in often. She always made me feel welcome into her office to talk.

The class is taught by a Certified Master Inspector, and is not just the rehashing of the online curriculum, but a supplement and expansion to the online courses. In the Master's Class there is a business and marketing component where Wade shows us what marketing efforts he has done that work, and what haven't been a good ROI. I am looking forward to the ride along inspections and feel confident that I will have the support and resources from Axium when I open my own business.

What a waste of my time!!…read more Here's the long story, in January 2025 I went in to talk about the X-ray tech training because I saw the advertisement outside the building. I talked to the advisor about the program and was told the next opening doesn't start until January 2026. I thought that's a long ways away but was told that will give me plenty of time to get ready, ok fine. A month later I had to take a test on the computer (I forgot the name of it) to get a good enough score. I got a 23 first time and then was told I should do it again so I had to come back a week later and I got a 25.I was told I got a good enough score and should be fine. A couple months later I went back in to see my advisor if I'm on the right track, at this point, I was now told the X-ray program won't start until March 11th, 2026. I thought that would've been nice to been told that sooner but whatever. So the next step was a face to face interview with the X-ray tech "head-lead" person. I had the interview on October 31, 2025 and I thought the interview went well. I was specifically told that I would know if I got in the program or not and that she would email me by the end of the first week of December, great. The end of the first week of December comes and no response, I wait another week, no response. I emailed my advisor, who in the past would get back to me in a timely matter, about whether I got in the program or not, no response!! I never heard back from this place. It's honestly so bizarre and I'm counting my blessings that I didn't just pay them $55,000. What gets me mad is the fact that I wasted a year dealing with this place and not doing something else that values my time. I knew the ratings for this place were bad, but I'm the type who still likes to see because maybe it's not as bad as people say. Well sadly it's true for me.

I've been to many different institutes of higher learning and this is the only one I've dealt with…read morethat gave me as many problems as it has. I managed to flunk out of the 2nd semester of my program which requires picking up the program in May 2026. So keep in mind this is a four month period. By the middle of it, I applied for "re enrollment" and was told that a committee would be meeting on April 23 to review my application. Turns out they had "approved" this much sooner. When I received the call I was "re-enrolled" I asked if I needed to handle any taxes or related information prior to coming in for a scheduled appointment and was told that everything would be taken care of by the meeting time. Turns out revealing my 2024 taxes had not been squared away at this point was a major obstacle and we needed to reschedule. Since then I had several telephone correspondences with the Financial Aid reps and was told various different things and suggestions. My 2025 taxes returns were mentioned as helping to get the funding I need to start. Another was that a "financial coordinator" would work out some monthly payment plan agreement. Neither of these things apparently helped my situation. Given that the 2024 taxes processing takes several weeks to months if you do a mail in (which online tax filing indicated was the only option) I wouldn't have FASFA until early July 2026. In other words despite having two months time to get back into the program and have what I needed accounted for, it took as long for me to find out what I already knew was going to happen: sorry but you should have had all these bs things done and over with, you need a co-signer we already know you don't have, tough shit. But you can wait till the beginning of the new year to start up again!

I was a welding student at Lincoln who just graduated. I was there for just over a year. My first…read moreever class was taught by Austin Sleep. Austin was very helpful, always excited to teach and created an atmosphere of energy and enthusiasm for welding. He got us excited for the jobs to come and for what we could do with welding. Needless to say, I enjoyed my first two classes with him and improved very quickly. My third class is where things got messy. I understand that a lot of the time, classes will go from 110, to 120 then to a random class, and then back to 130. The teachers are like "that'll happen." I think this shows how unprepared this school is. WEL120 is a stick welding class. Going from 120 to 140, which is TIG, is majorly difficult. We never even learned how to fill up a groove with stick before we had to tackle flat, horizontal, and vertical fillet welds. Then, with only 2 weeks left, we were expected to also learn flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead groove welds. My entire class was discouraged. Many dropped out or flunked out. If everyone is struggling, something was obviously done wrong by the teachers. Austin was by far the most helpful. Dillon, Todd and Lopez are all condescending and very obviously fed up with teaching. Todd always looks at you like you have two heads, and Dillon always gives some snarky remarks back to you when asking a question. Yes this is blue collar work, but a teacher should be fully engaged in helping the students. The classes move too fast. 5 weeks for each process and type of weld. 5. For classes such as fabrication, MIG pipe or any plate classes, this is a good amount of time. But 5 weeks to learn 3 positions with stick is not a very long time. Especially if none of the instructors are willing to help. I had to watch youtube videos the whole time I was here to fully grasp the concept. They also cut you off completely from any new metal the day you graduate. I could understand this if they actually taught you how to use a plasma cutter to cut up old scrap. But no. They say "let me know when you need some cut" but then are never around or refuse to help you cut it. All together, I say to the reader, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! You can learn as much here as you can getting a helper job somewhere. If all you want to do is fabrication or structural welding, it's okay. But if you actually want to learn how to pipe weld, good luck.

I am not exaggerating when I say drunk, there were at least 4-5 times an instructor came to class intoxicated and more times then I can count not even showing up. This doesn't go for all instructors, but it's a good 85%. this is a joke of a "school" SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR SOMETHING BETTER! OR A DIFFERENT SCHOOL! worst 40k I will ever spend in my lifetime.
