I lived in Gunbarrel so this was especially convenient for me, but I would recommend it even if you are not a 5 minute walk away. This is really a great deal. You have the choice of a student or an instructor massage, and at the moment, the student massages are $35 for an hour massage. I think the instructor massages are $65.
The caveat for the student massages is that the instructor comes in once during your session to check on the massage student and see how they are doing. Not your normal circumstance, but truly I did not find that to ruin my experience at all, it's just different. They are only in briefly.
I had Martina a few weeks in to their training program, and ended up sticking with her for at least 8 more sessions. The $35 made repeat sessions very affordable for me, and I liked Martina so it was an easy choice to stick with her. The unexpected benefit was seeing her skills progress over the weeks. I enjoyed my first session with her, or I would have left my options open for other trainees, but she went from giving a very relaxing, spa-style massage, to plying newly learned techniques like shiatsu and trigger-point release on my more stubborn chronic pain issues, where I got better relief than I have from other professional massage therapists!
As students, they are very conscientious about communicating with you on every point from table/head cradle position/room temperature to applied massage pressure and where you'd like the focal point of your massage to be.
Angela keeps everything running in a very professional yet personal manner and the office staff is very open to comments and input on your student massage. This is a great experience and I recommend it to anyone. And Martina will be moving off to her professional career too but I endorse her as an individual as well! Nicely done, and thanks!
