The plumber fixed the pipe but a mitigation contractor was contacted, by the plumber to deal with the water on the floor. RestoPros was in my home when I returned from work. The lower was rude and impatient. He did not give me a scope of the project. He was also rude to my claim Adjuster. His wife put together the invoices, which were not itemized. It took a long time for their payment, as RestoPros appear to be in the business to submit extremely high invoices, so they can 'negotiate'. I never got in writings the scope of the project. I can to get information from my claim Adjuster. I was threatened by the owner l, and I had to request he never come in my home again. Currently, I am assessing my property that was returned to my home and thre is some damage. I don't know if RestoPros is bonded to cover any cost to some damage furniture. Oh, the threat to place a lien on your home is a tactic the owner has used on several clients. RestoPros has only been in business for less than 2 yrs ( The one that came to my home).

I hired them to handle what started as a small sewage backup in my basement, but from my perspective, their work only made things worse. After they were in my home, additional areas that were never contaminated before ended up affected, and the team seemed very careless. Their removal of casings left visible damage to my walls and doorways, which was incredibly frustrating. What disturbed me most was that, after their visit, I realized money and a few small personal items belonging to my kids were missing. I cannot say with certainty what happened, but the timing raised serious concerns for me. When I brought all of these issues to the company's attention, they offered no accountability or meaningful help. Based solely on my experience, I would strongly caution others before hiring this company.

It's funny that I had other contractors come here and they were able to draw up the plans and give me an estimate without the hassle. Now, we can't even use Belfor for an estimate because it will cost us $400. So definitely not a free estimate for us. We will not be using them at all. Beware. It all seems wonderful at first and then they never contact you back. It's been over two weeks and we have not received an estimate from Belfor yet. It does take some time to create an estimate, but this is too long. Not thrilled. Will update if we ever hear back. My house insurance company recommended Belfor as a potential contractor to raze and build our garage. Belfor was one of two contractors I could actually reach on the phone. I am working with Todd. It was very simple to set up an estimate. He was able to come out only a few days after we spoke. Other contractors were not available at all. Anyway, Todd came out to our house this morning. He's very professional and knowledgeable. He is actually a project manager who stays on the project from start to finish. He gave us some really good advice and how to expedite the process. We do have other contractors coming in to give us estimates, so we haven't hired Belfor yet. I do feel confident if we hired Belf that they would continue to be professional and do an excellent job. I will update my review if we decide to hire them.

Interestingly enough, my insurance company found another franchise of this organization who did a very poor job the first time around. I couldn't believe the mishandling of my property. But this location came to the rescue to not only fix what the first group did wrong, but to properly clean and sanitize the basement. What made this franchise head and shoulders above the rest, was the personal care and communication from Shawn. This guy went above and beyond in terms of follow up and communication, either calling me or emailing me to let me know the status of the cleaning. And this was no simple project with me living in Chicago and having to deal with the tenants to get the work done. The price was reasonable given the scope of the work (about $2300 to clean, sanitize and dry the basement). It was certainly worth any price paid given what Mother Nature served up in a 24 hour period. And since my insurance company later decided that flooding was not covered, resulting in me having to pay the bill- I was happy that it wasn't going to break the bank! Hats off to Shawn and all of the great people at Serve Pro Milwaukee North. It's like the disaster never happened . . . . and isn't that just the way you want it?

I'm writing this after our original, fully documented review was removed...rather than this company…read moreaddressing the issues we raised. We are now approaching a year since Servpro North turned what should have been a straightforward mitigation job into a prolonged, expensive, and still-unresolved situation. I am a master carpenter who personally designed and remodeled our home. I understand industry standards, and the work performed here fell well below them. After Servpro placed equipment in our home, we spent three full weeks requesting its removal. We received no response, despite repeated, documented outreach from both us and our insurance company. The equipment then failed, releasing significant amounts of water from our top floor through to our basement. The result included: Newly installed hardwood floors permanently warped and discolored at the seams Sagging ceilings and compromised drywall Damaged personal property Materials impacted that raised asbestos-related concerns Ongoing disruption to our home and daily life What followed was equally concerning. Throughout the process, Brad did not provide accountability, a clear plan for remediation, or consistent communication. Multiple outreach attempts went unanswered. Instead of addressing the damage, we received a lien-related document that had no valid basis, which required us to retain legal counsel at our own expense to resolve. This added unnecessary cost and stress to an already difficult situation. Even after legal involvement, attempts to reach a resolution have not been successful. Months later, after Servpro had already been paid by our insurance company, we were presented with an additional invoice that had not previously been discussed or agreed upon. The insurance obviously company declined this submission. This invoice also included cleaning-related charges that had originally been described to us as complimentary due to unsanitary and unsafe site conditions created during the work. We also made multiple requests (well over a dozen) for MSDS documentation and did not receive it. This was thoroughly documented by our insurance team. During this time, I experienced a severe contact dermatitis reaction requiring medical treatment (Prednisone for an entire month). In an effort to resolve the matter and move forward, we offered to settle for a portion of the total damages (approximately $4,000 compared to an estimated $12,000+ impact). That proposal did not result in a resolution. We are reasonable and patient homeowners who made repeated good-faith efforts to communicate and resolve this situation directly before writing public reviews. All of the above is documented. At this point, the concern extends beyond the initial damage. It is the lack of communication, absence of accountability, and difficulty obtaining resolution that has made this experience so challenging. If you are considering hiring this company, it is important to understand not only the work itself, but how situations are handled if something goes wrong.

We had no clue that our compact washer and dryer were not properly installed and created moisture in that small room that resulted in mold on the ceiling. We got 2 quotes the first one from another company was high and had no details of what they were going to do. The 2nd quote from Emergency was thorough and they walked us through in detail what they needed to do and assured us the job would get done properly. Our contact Brian was awesome and he communicated to us and my realtor every step and made this experience as seamless as possible. They had two different teams manage the removal of the mold so that they would not expose it to the other rooms. These guys are awesome and do such a wonderful and professional job! I would highly recommend them to anyone with any damage to your home.

Our project…read moremanager acted like he had done this a million times over, told us to trust him and that he would take care of everything - So, that's what we did and boy did we learn our lesson. There were days when the workers wouldn't show up, alot of the work is super shotty and it took months to complete, despite a 6 week contract. They didn't patch before painting, so when I asked that they drop off the extra paint from the project so I could fix it, they told me they threw it out, but then someone else's half empty cans of paint ended up in my house. In one room, they even got paint all over the furniture. As far as the bathrooms, the tile work is beyond sloppy! There were times throughout the project that we'd get random calls that we were behind on payment and we NEVER ONCE were invoiced - How can I pay a bill that I never received? The PM would call and when we would respond stating the lack of invoice, he would simply state, "oh yeah I know, billing is behind"....um what? We immediately paid said invoices and life went on. Finally, once it was all complete and after not hearing from him/EFW for months we got slapped with a final bill even though we approved insurance to pay them directly. Turns out that the PM had NEVER submitted anything he was claiming to over to our insurance company so nothing got handled, no claims approvals, no final payouts were made to either party - we trusted them to handle the insurance part as their 'expertise'. The worst part was that we didn't even know this wasn't taken care of until some random lady reached out to us to collect - we never heard from the guy we were working with again... apparently he was just fired without ANY communication from EFW to us. This entire experience was an ABSOLUTE nightmare. It's our fault for "trusting" someone's word, so I take that blame, but the lack of service, customer care is sickening and I hope that someone else can learn from our mistake. This is YOUR home that these people will be in and I don't want anyone else to go through this. Run people. Run.
