My "dream team" -- Eric Markwald, James Stossmeister, Anthony Heald, and their crew -- truly deserve recognition bonuses for their exceptional skill, dedication, and workmanship. They worked tirelessly, often around the clock, to help restore my home while also assisting many others affected by the historic 2025 Milwaukee floods. Beyond their technical expertise, what meant the most was their kindness, compassion, and patience. They provided reassurance and support when I was overwhelmed, anxious, and facing the challenges of dealing with insurance adjusters while being displaced from my home and without my belongings. They guided me through every step of the mitigation, reconstruction, and insurance processes, always keeping me informed and confident that things would be made right. In the end, they truly delivered on that promise.

We hired Emergency Fire & Water for the mold issue we had in our home from our utility closet that…read morewe had to fix in order for us to sell our home. We had no clue that our compact washer and dryer were not properly installed and created moisture in that small room that resulted in mold on the ceiling. We got 2 quotes the first one from another company was high and had no details of what they were going to do. The 2nd quote from Emergency was thorough and they walked us through in detail what they needed to do and assured us the job would get done properly. Our contact Brian was awesome and he communicated to us and my realtor every step and made this experience as seamless as possible. They had two different teams manage the removal of the mold so that they would not expose it to the other rooms. These guys are awesome and do such a wonderful and professional job! I would highly recommend them to anyone with any damage to your home.

Buyer beware - EFW is extremely disorganized and has a major lack communication! Our project…read moremanager acted like he had done this a million times over, told us to trust him and that he would take care of everything - So, that's what we did and boy did we learn our lesson. There were days when the workers wouldn't show up, alot of the work is super shotty and it took months to complete, despite a 6 week contract. They didn't patch before painting, so when I asked that they drop off the extra paint from the project so I could fix it, they told me they threw it out, but then someone else's half empty cans of paint ended up in my house. In one room, they even got paint all over the furniture. As far as the bathrooms, the tile work is beyond sloppy! There were times throughout the project that we'd get random calls that we were behind on payment and we NEVER ONCE were invoiced - How can I pay a bill that I never received? The PM would call and when we would respond stating the lack of invoice, he would simply state, "oh yeah I know, billing is behind"....um what? We immediately paid said invoices and life went on. Finally, once it was all complete and after not hearing from him/EFW for months we got slapped with a final bill even though we approved insurance to pay them directly. Turns out that the PM had NEVER submitted anything he was claiming to over to our insurance company so nothing got handled, no claims approvals, no final payouts were made to either party - we trusted them to handle the insurance part as their 'expertise'. The worst part was that we didn't even know this wasn't taken care of until some random lady reached out to us to collect - we never heard from the guy we were working with again... apparently he was just fired without ANY communication from EFW to us. This entire experience was an ABSOLUTE nightmare. It's our fault for "trusting" someone's word, so I take that blame, but the lack of service, customer care is sickening and I hope that someone else can learn from our mistake. This is YOUR home that these people will be in and I don't want anyone else to go through this. Run people. Run.

It's funny that I had other contractors come here and they were able to draw up the plans and give me an estimate without the hassle. Now, we can't even use Belfor for an estimate because it will cost us $400. So definitely not a free estimate for us. We will not be using them at all. Beware. It all seems wonderful at first and then they never contact you back. It's been over two weeks and we have not received an estimate from Belfor yet. It does take some time to create an estimate, but this is too long. Not thrilled. Will update if we ever hear back. My house insurance company recommended Belfor as a potential contractor to raze and build our garage. Belfor was one of two contractors I could actually reach on the phone. I am working with Todd. It was very simple to set up an estimate. He was able to come out only a few days after we spoke. Other contractors were not available at all. Anyway, Todd came out to our house this morning. He's very professional and knowledgeable. He is actually a project manager who stays on the project from start to finish. He gave us some really good advice and how to expedite the process. We do have other contractors coming in to give us estimates, so we haven't hired Belfor yet. I do feel confident if we hired Belf that they would continue to be professional and do an excellent job. I will update my review if we decide to hire them.

Just be careful. The exhaust system itself seams to be installed and working just fine. The initial…read moresump pump that was installed ended up "failing" a few months after installation though and flooding out our finished basement ($5k in damages). We assumed it was just a bad pump which I would never blame on the installer. They were great with agreeing to come out and install a new one. We even paid them install a backup system shortly after so this would never happen again. A few months later we got a notification that the primary sump pump wasn't working AGAIN. Luckily we had the backup pump installed and we didn't have another flood. We decided to bring in a licensed plumber. He looked things over and told us that the sump wasn't installed as it should have been so we had an airlock in the main pump. Looking back at the second "failure" it was likely the same thing happened with the first pump that caused the flood. We have been in communication with them and asked for a reasonable refund on the installation of the second pump (we asked for nothing related all the damage caused by the first failure). They maintained that they did nothing wrong. We are still waiting on the refund. I know they install a ton of these systems, and it sounds like this isn't common (according to them). Maybe we just got unlucky with having two sump pumps fail in the matter of a couple months. And that the licensed pumper was incorrect with his assessment of how it should have been installed. Maybe. But I just wanted to mention to be careful with the sump pump installation if you decide to go with them.
