Cobb Salad

Stumbled upon this nice casual lunch spot which is obviously a local favorite by the big turnout on a Monday. Open air porch seating is unique and creates a nice vibe. We enjoyed the dog friendly area with our kids and our doodle. Sandwiches and salads were first rate. The black bean burger was excellent and satisfying for our vegan, piled high with avocado, tomato and sprouts. Service was excellent and attentive.

This is our favorite restaurant in Cashiers. Apparently, it's the favorite of lots of other folks, too! During season, there can be a line. Their sandwiches are delicious, and are always fresh. If we are anywhere near, we'll be stopping at Cornucopia. They seem to have plenty of parking, though you might sometimes have to search a bit for a spot during the busy times. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the restaurant has an open feel that makes you feel comfortable. I think you'll like eating here.

We ate here for lunch today. They were very busy so we had about a 15 min. wait. The waiting area is limited. This a unique large open pavilion restaurant. We ate out on the deck outside the main seating area. The weather was nice, so not bad. The food was good. We had sandwiches that were on pita bread. My wife had the meatless sandwich and I had the Arabian, (turkey, bacon, tomatoes, sprouts, black olives and their dill sauce) We liked both and the sandwich could have been shared and we would have had sufficient. Lunch with tip was $40. The service was good and very friendly. They seemed to be doing a steady business.

Filet mignon (in what should have been a bernaise sauce?)

Loved the outdoor/porch-style setting of this restaurant! Very airy and unique. The seating set-up also offers diners a lovely view of the garden and lush greenery which really helps the ambiance. My only complaint would be the restaurant's temperature in the summer. Cornucopia appeared to have fans but none of them were on (assuming they were operational). In addition to helping cool the servers and customers, I feel like those would help keep the bugs out (a problem that we only had to deal with minimally because we were by a window). The food was very good. Rosemary and plain rolls with butter were a good offering at the start but I stayed careful not to fill up on it. FYI to those scrolling through Yelp before going to Cornucopia for dinner - their dinner menu is MUCH SHORTER and more limited than their lunch menu. We visited under the presumption that the menu was full of sandwiches - but no such outcome. I ordered the filet mignon which was said to be served with a homemade Bernaise sauce but it arrived in a brown sauce? I've never had a brown bernaise sauce but it didn't ruin the flavor of the steak which was cooked perfectly to order (medium rare), and served alongside potatoes and asparagus. I cleaned my entire plate (a rarity) but that could also be because the serving wasn't huge. My mom enjoyed her halibut which was served with jasmine rice. Extra credit to the restaurant for cutting up baby's buttered spaghetti small enough for him to enjoy it, but minus credit for not having ANY milk in the restaurant. I found that strange since many meals (and even some drinks) require milk! They had apple juice instead which he drank so much of that it ended up giving him an upset stomach. Nothing the restaurant could control but wonder if milk would've helped us have a smoother night with babay. Overall, I would recommend Cornucopia to any diner looking for a genuinely unique ambiance and refined dining experience.

Red reuben, cajun turkey, house chips and fries.

This place is essentially an old barn which when they have all the plastic on the sides rolled up gets great breezes. It's almost like an Oktoberfest beer hall. The food and service were both excellent. Actually, our order took a while to come up, and our waitress kept apologizing and ended up giving us a slice of pie on the house because of the wait. We love reubens so we ordered the red reuben (turkey with red cabbage) and the cajun turkey and shared them half and half. We did the same for the house-made chips and fries. The red cabbage tasted great and with just enough hint of sweetness to make the sandwich very warm and comfort-foodie. The cajun turkey on the other hand had some nice kick, with a tabasco mayonnaise and jalapeno peppers. The former was on marbled rye and the latter on sourdough, both well grilled. Between the fries and the house chips, the fries were good but the chips were better. But it was nice having a mixture. Their ice tea was surprisingly good, too. And the key lime pie we had for dessert was probably the 2nd best I've ever had. Prices are quite reasonable for the portion size, taste and quality of the food. Looked like a great spot for kids to eat, too. We didn't try any of their bar drinks, but there seemed to be lots of people having drinks at the bar, too. I'd much rather eat here than at one of the over-priced restaurants in Highlands, and we would go back again next time we visit the High Country.

Attitude from hostess, waiter, food server were poor to marginal at best. Food was terrible. If you haven't been, don't go

Open-air, shaded restaurant (in Aug, anyways). Nice venue and good sandwiches. Large sitting area, so no wait for us.

Always great food and choices. Lovely staff that go out of their way to assist. My fave lunch spot in town; but must try dinner there, too.

Still thinking about it a week later. We also got the buffalo shrimp which was equally as delicious and super fresh. The peppercorn ranch that it came with was super good too. Others in our party got the pretzel bites and were very impressed with the pretzel and the queso and spicy mustard dipping sauces. There is a large space beside the brewery with fire pits and space to run and play for kids. There is a giant tv outside and lots of places to sit - both inside and outside. We were there the week after Christmas and though it was cold there were plenty of heaters/fire pits etc to keep warm near. Really great spot for all! We will definitely come back!

One of the bartenders told us their policy was that we needed to have full coverage pants on. Understandably some of us went home to change and put on different outfits while the rest stayed and it was not a big deal at all. The girl who told us this made very rude remarks, she was looking directly at our group and whispering, and she was dead staring at us when we got back to order our food. This kind of petty behavior in a hospitality environment is ridiculous. I do not know her name but she is a blonde bartender.

This restaurant came highly recommend by a lot of people so we were excited to try it. Firstly,…read morethe view and atmosphere is amazing. We were there in May and the weather was spectacular. The staff was very personal and attentive. We started with an average at best mocktail and bread service. Not impressed with the $6 roll and two smaller rolls (almost like popovers) or the butter that came along with it. We both started with salads. The wedge an the citrus. Both were very nice! For our main, I had the pork chop and my friend had the black grouper with "fried rice". She absolutely loved the fish however the rice that was served with it was dry and bland. My pork chop was very good. It was glazed with an apple butter and was in a peanut sauce which is a strange combination but it worked. So, overall it was a good experience, we just expected more based on the recommendations.

Nestled in a serene valley framed by dramatic granite cliffs, the setting alone is enough to make the visit worth it. Even if you're not lucky enough to snag a reservation, I'd still recommend stopping by for a cocktail just to soak in the views and ambiance. It's truly one of the most stunning dining environments I've experienced. Dinner started off strong with their bread service--warm, pillowy Parker House rolls that were just the right amount of indulgent. We also ordered the deviled eggs, which had a wasabi twist that honestly blew me away. It was such a unique combination, but it totally worked--easily a 10/10. The tuna tartare came next, served with thinly shaved radish instead of chips, which added a crisp, refreshing texture that paired perfectly with the delicacy of the fish. For the main course, I had the fresh North Carolina trout. It was beautifully cooked and so fresh, though I found the mustard sauce a bit overpowering--it still didn't take away from how enjoyable the dish was overall. My partner ordered the Georgia steak, which was an absolute standout. It was cooked to perfection and served with creamy mashed potatoes and tender braised turnips--comfort food with an elevated twist. We ended the night with the strawberry pavlova, which was light, airy, and just sweet enough--perfect for a warm summer evening. We also opted for the wine pairing, and I can't recommend it enough. Each pour was thoughtfully chosen to complement the flavors of the meal, and the pairings truly elevated the entire dining experience. Canyon Kitchen changes its menu seasonally, which just gives me more of a reason to return. The food, the service, the views--everything about this meal was memorable in the best possible way. If you have the chance to go, don't hesitate. And if you don't, at least swing by for a cocktail and take in one of the most beautiful spots in Sapphire!
