I caught a recently hired employee one in their employ for approximately 2 or 3 months ,telling…read morelies to me on 2 consecutive days of July 09 and July 10 a Thursday and following Friday .I mentioned to that employee that I had caught them at those 2 lies on those days.Employee response ( Megan ) the heat makes me not think right sometimes I don't know what I am saying.She then stated that she did not believe that she owed me anything. Corning Police department was contacted about that interaction between myself and that employee and I have been banned from that location by management under threat of police being called if I return there ,I was already practicing avoidance of that employee due to her dishonesty and had mentioned that to other employees at that store ,I discussed the incident in detail and have reached out to Corning P.D. to relay my truthful account of events in opposition to whatever doctored version they must have been told .The manager knows me well and has been fully made aware of my position on all this but must back his employee in order to avoid the appearance of a hostile work environment ,I don't envy his position In all of this ,I am a long time customer have done continuous business with that store since it's grand opening there and have had many friends there and never a problem there prior to the hiring of that new employee (Megan)

We drop in to check it out every time we're in town and always find something we want or need. They've got regular hardware items, plus all kinds of nuts, bolts, tools, and more. They also have a great selection of nice homewares and cookware, English tea pots, high quality Le Creuset cooking pots, skillets, etc., and small items like mini spatulas. They have a lot more stuff as well. It's nice to see an old, traditional hardware store like this hanging on in a downtown. They have good prices, giving a good value on things we've bought, and service is friendly.

Ordered 9 windows with screens for $9500 in November...put them on my Home Depot card. They were very prompt with taking the order and our money...however, the deliver took the maximum amount of time for delivery. I was out of town on business when they installed and I couldn't believe the poor workmanship from their 3rd party vendor. I am pretty sure we were told it would be HD personnel doing the install. Anyway, and regardless the install was horrible. I complained and an installer from the 3rd party company and a HD rep came to our house...they took were "shocked" at the poor installation. When the original installers came, the didn't have the screens for the bathroom windows. They did nothing to inform HD of this shortage. Only when they came back to examine the poor installation were they informed...or at least that is what they said...who knows. Anyway, after several emails back in forth with the company telling how important this is, still no screens. I even told them they could just ship them to me and I will install. Today, May 2, yes, 5 months later I finally have given them two weeks to get me the screens or I will just have a reputable local company provide them for me and try and recover my cost from HD. My neighbor was going to have HD do their windows, but not after our experience. We also decided not to order a nearly $2000 custom door from HD after this experience. Buyer beware...completely over promise and under deliver...too bad, not the company they used to be. I will add, everyone we have encountered at the store is great, but their in home dept. simply doesn't have it together.
