Great Ranch in scenic Princeton,Ma. No better way to spend a day than taking a relaxing trail ride at Cornerstone. Beginners to seasoned riders also riding instruction is offered. wagon rides sleigh rides & Pony rides. Also a food wagon the Wild Child is on site run by Chef Stacey offering food & Ice cream. Take a ride and enjoy

We had a fantastic time. Chicken Dumpling came along for the ride which was priceless. The staff was fantastic and truly enjoy their jobs as they shine. We hope to come back in a few months when there is at least a foot and a half of snow so we can upgrade from a wagon ride, to a sleigh ride. Thank you staff at Cornerstone .

Customer service at this business is nonexistent. Good luck getting any kind of reply by email or phone. Yes, they tell you not to call but to email instead. However, they truly don't answer emails either. I emailed them weeks ago with no reply and then yesterday at 12:30pm with no reply. It's lovely that they love their horses, but with zero people skills, I consider it a bit unethical to charge people money for a service. Also, don't bother with the address they provide for the ranch as it absolutely does not take you to the location. Study the map beforehand and memorize the turns you need to take the get there on the dirt roads. Otherwise, you'll be late for sure. The signage is sparse at best.

Had the BEST experience at Cornerstone Ranch. We went 2 weeks in a row because we had the best experience the 1st time. The people running it are so knowledgeable & personable. They really made the experience special. We messed up & booked the wrong day & they were so accommodating . It wasn't an issue whatsoever. We also loved the hot coco and marshmallows!

Really enjoyed my two hour horseback ride at Cornerstone Ranch. The guides were very knowledgeable and carefully paired each rider up with a horse that would suit them. It was peak foliage, so the pictures are amazing. They also had a bonfire with s'mores at the end! The only thing I would have loved to do was go faster than a slow walk, but the larger group size (ten or so riders plus guides) would make that difficult.

My friend and I had a great time on the trail with Cornerstone Ranch! All the horses are in good condition, well cared for, as well as the equipment. The trail was beautiful and scenic, and our horses were so fun to ride! Staff couldn't have been nicer. Please keep in mind: the two hour trail ride does not mean you're on the trail for two hours. You spend quite a bit of time getting assigned a horse, getting ready and getting on the road.

I went here on a sunny Saturday with 4 girlfriends for a sleigh ride. It ended up being a wagon ride because there was no snow.... not their fault. Apparently according to Sue ( the owner) they can't do sleigh rides unless there's 8 inches of snow. We got there early and had s'mores and hot chocolate around a fire pit. The actual ride was sweet... about half an hour, through the farm and then out on a trail. They offer blankets but I brought my own quilt because I wasn't sure. The horses are handsome. A nice experience!

We went for a trail ride in April, and had a wonderful experience which was due in large part to Sue's compassion & acceptance...please see excerpts below from a follow-up email I sent her. This is a wonderful place and I will DEFINITELY return, HIGHLY recommend! "...I just wanted to thank you again for helping to provide an enjoyable experience yesterday at Cornerstone for my son J. As I told you (and as you likely would have surmised), J has an Autism Spectrum Disorder...his ASD means that he can have difficulty processing verbal language, has some sensory integration issues, and (when presented with something novel, even when it's something he's excited about), can become anxious... This sometimes results in him NOT doing things he wants to do (and CAN do, with the right support)...has been interested in riding a horse for some time; we've been considering lessons & when we saw your Groupon around Christmas we thought it would be a good starting point. As you saw, J had some difficulty & anxiety getting started yesterday and it became clear to me that we would either need to bow out altogether, or I would need to walk him in order for him to ride: thank you so much for supporting the latter, and for all the encouragement you offered to J (it really made a difference, throughout the ride). As I walked alongside J on his horse for the trail ride behind the other riders, I was able to encourage him, lead sweet little Miller the pony, and give some additional instruction to J on holding the reins, how to stop, keeping feet in the stirrups, and trusting your horse to do his job safely. By about halfway through the ride, he was marveling at how "cool" and "awesome" the trail looked from the back of his horse, and it was SO GRATIFYING for me to see him feeling a sense of accomplishment and taking pride in doing something that he was afraid to do (equally gratifying to learn my Timberland boots truly ARE waterproof! :) ). He was crooning to sweet little Miller by the end of his ride ("who's a good little boy??", "you're such a good little horse!"), and by the time we walked back to the barn, he was mostly under his own steam and the look on his face & his happiness just made my day (plus, I got some unexpected but much-needed exercise! :) ). I'm always a little worried during group activities (especially those that also involve typically-developing kids) that someone might resent J for "holding them up" or make a rude/ignorant remark about him (I've 'toughened up' a little over the years & have learned to respond neutrally or ignore it, although they still hurt & make me worry about how the world will continue to receive J in the years to come); I didn't perceive yesterday that anyone objected to our relatively slow pace or that anyone was overtly negative about your occasional thoughtful pauses for us to catch-up (and I hope no one provided negative feedback to you).... it warms my heart when we experience a truly inclusive and supportive activity in our community for kids like my son (even when "our way" of experiencing such an activity may be a little different, or may need some reasonable accommodation, such as yesterday). We deeply appreciated your support & encouragement... J talked about Miller all the way home, and couldn't wait to share with his Dad and his neighborhood friends that he rode a horse "all by himself"...talked about it all night! Thank you again, so much." Sue then responded to my email very kindly, and even offered me a complimentary ride. A positive experience in every single way!! read more

The trails are quite boring and tedious. The horses were slightly I'll behaved, attempting to bite the girl tightening the saddle on it. One of the workers was very nice and helpful, although the other was a bit rude and short to my friend. This is definitely geared more to first time riders as well. Also I did not enjoy being taken on the main road due to the cars flying by, and it was stressful to control the horse. Overall, not the best experience, but not the worst. read more

This ranch is not safe, as the horses are not fully trained, and the staff does not provide proper helmet and stirrup fitting for beginners. I would not go here unless I was an experienced horseback rider. I scheduled a 1-hour trail ride for myself, and my boyfriend who has never been on a horse. I've been on trail rides before at other ranches, so I figured he would get a very gentle horse who knew the trail well, and wouldn't have any problems. It troubled me that we were unable to find a helmet that fit him properly, and when I asked an employee to help him with the straps, she ignored us. The trail is rocky and uneven, and some of the horses like to go off the trail into the woods if you're not careful in your steering. My boyfriend's horse ran into the woods, and I was terrified that he had fallen off, as he did not emerge for several minutes and people were shouting. Luckily, he reemerged, but it struck me how close he was to being injured. My boyfriend is inexperienced, so one could argue that the fault lies with him. However, even our trail leader was unable to control her horse. After dismounting to clear some snow from the trail, she was unable to get back on her horse. She explained that the horse was a rescued Race Track horse, and that he had trust issues from being abused. While I commend her for rehabilitating him, it was unsafe to take him as the lead horse when he was obviously not ready to lead. She chased him several feet for 5-10 minutes while the rest of us waited. While attempting to grab the reins, she fell to the ground while her horse kicked his back legs at her - she could have been killed. There is always a certain risk when riding horses, but the risk at Cornerstone seems to be higher than most ranches. Ride with caution. read more

I wish I could say I had a positive experience with Cornerstone Ranch but it was quite the opposite. I purchased a Groupon and booked an afternoon ride on a Saturday. As we were waiting for the group before us to return, the skies opened up and proceeded to pound us with torrential rain, thunder and lightening. When the guide returned with the group before us, they signaled us to come out and get on our horse. I was surprised given the conditions. This was more than just rain, this was a storm of biblical proportions. I told the guide we preferred to reschedule our ride and her response was "we ride in all conditions, rain or shine." This was very disappointing considering the money we spent on the Groupon was essentially flushed down the toilet. If you do ride here, be sure there is no rain in the forecast as they will not allow you to reschedule otherwise. read more

I found out about this ranch through Groupon and was very interested in riding for my first time, and my mom's and sister's as well. After riding at another ranch elsewhere, I decided I had enough information to compare and write a review. I believe this ranch is very professional and a great place for beginners and introductory-riding. It may be hard to get to, as it is in the middle of the forest and keep in mind that they have a separate parking area. The staff and the owner are nice and try to connect with the riders, asking for names and creating small talk. You sign a waiver, select your helmet, and your horses are all ready and saddled-up for you when you arrive. They carefully assign horse based on your characteristics which shows they know their horses well. I was assigned Hercules, a more bigger horse, and my mom was assigned a mother horse which was an excellent fit to a small woman. The instructor will go through exercises while on the horse to get you familiar and off you go on a nice, slow-paced ride through the woods. The trails are nice and open, with many twists and turns, and it is wise to use bug spray. The instructor may be a bit too attentive, being very watchful, but we are dealing with kids and they would not want anything out of their control in case something serious happens, so I understand. They do not allow trotting/cantering/galloping, probably unless you ride with experienced riders, you may have to check with your instructor. Once you get back, they help you off your horses and offer to take pictures for you. They have an ice cream trolley with great choices and a complimentary carriage ride, if you wanted to enjoy your ice cream that way. Their lavatories are portable, but they do have soap and a sink to wash your hands, which is much needed after patting the horses and irresistibly petting their little pig, that loves belly rubs. Overall, they really do appreciate their customers. They are a service and do extra to provide you a good experience and they have the right equipment to ensure a nice, smooth ride. Those who come to a ranch to ride horses should come prepared with some knowledge and understanding of the lifestyle and of animals. I feel like those who gave bad reviews and had bad experiences relied solely on the instructors when they should have done the best they can on their part to come prepared and on time. Yes, they ask for a tip but they provide you with well-maintained equipment, organization, and facilities that cater to you, unlike other ranches. So, props to them for providing me and my family a good experience and a great memory. read more

Seriously, if you want real horse riding experience, do not come here. The horses are very slow. The trail was muddy and filled with stone. The only positive fact is that some of the horses were rescued. That's all (giving them 2 stars only because of this.) read more

My husband and I were so excited to plan a trail ride..We found Cornerstone Ranch in Princeton MA and booked a one hr ride on June 9th.. We got there early, greeting nicely and signed in..There were about 12 other riders younger than us..They assigned us all horses by name and we were the last to mount up...Not sure if it was because we were older than the others but out of all the horses our two horses were the slowest of them all and we were the last two placed on the ride...My horse was Kidder but should have been called slow poke...We did have fun but I wished we had better quality horses and I wish we were more up front as new riders....I do recommend this place and would go again but I would ask for a horse that wasnt so slow......The weather was great...the lead Rider Julie was very pleasant but I so wished we wern't way in the back read more

I was glad to go to Cornerstone with a Groupon because I would not have paid full price for the 2 hour trail ride. When I arrived 30 minutes early (that is what they wanted), nobody was at the barn to welcome us. I wasn't even sure if I was in the right place! A table with waivers was waiting for us to sign them ...I assumed. 2 other people arrived after us and we waited in the barn 10 minutes before someone came out of the house to greet us. Once the group before us came back, we were told that some people were missing but that they should start (The time was 1:10 and we were there for a 2 hour trail ride starting at 1:00) No one from the group had ever gone horseback riding before. After assigning us a horse, we were told to "hop on". There were a few "exercises" and only 10 minutes of instruction before we started on our trail ride. Julia was the lead guide and she spent more time texting on her cell phone than watching the inexperienced riders behind her. The trails were muddy and rocky along power lines. Not knowing the behavior of some of the horses, my friend had a horse that would trot...which she was not aware of and felt uncomfortable with. Once we arrived back at the barn, we dismounted the horses. I looked at my phone and the time was 2:35....no where near the 2 hour trail ride on the Groupon!! It would have been nice to learn more about the horses, maybe pet them, and get more instruction. I will never visit Cornerstone Ranch again.. read more

My husband and I have both been horseback riding before. We have done some amazing trail rides in some great places. The staff is friendly. Sue is a matter-of-fact lady who really knows her stuff. She pairs up a good horse with the appropriate rider. Their horses are wonderful trail horses: easy going and easy to ride. The reason for 3 stars versus 5 was simply because of the trail itself. You see mainly power lines. If you have ever walked trails near power lines then you know what I mean. Large power lines means no homes around them, but not exciting trails either. So, the horses walk and follow the power line trail. I thought it would be more in the woods and without the buzzing of the lines next to me the whole trail. Not to mention it was a bit rocky and the horses avoid the very rocky parts at all costs and will switch from one side to the other and push along the bushes to stay away from the rocky middle. Who do I recommend this for? Kids or if you never have ridden before. This is a great experience for someone with NO experience because it is well organized with calm friendly horses. Kids will love this! They don't know any different and they will be in awe just being on the horse. However, if you are experienced and hope to have a trail ride in the woods you will be disappointed. read more

We went for a 2 hr trail ride on a rainy Sunday. Overall it was great, Julia, one of the staffs, was very nice and helpful. The only issue was the cleanness of the helmets. Mine was quite smelly. But overall, the trail was a lot of fun and the horses were well trained read more

We came here for a two-hour horseback ride with a groupon of 50% off and it was overall a good experience. Even with a group of ten people in total, we were quickly helped to get on the horses and start the trail ride. The horses were docile and the trail was filled with greens; we went up and down a small hill as well, which was good. All this said, I would have preferred a two hour ride where there was faster walking and a bit of galloping involved than just slowly walking the trail, but given that it is a group ride that would likely be difficult to manage. Also, the trail was not as pretty as I had hoped probably because the last time I did horseback riding was in Iceland where the landscape was much more open and beautiful. read more

brought a groupon and took my wife and we had a good time,it was painfully cold, my hands were burning from the cold. the horses were beautifu, the trail was nice, the horses were a little tempermental but who knows how long they were working so I dont hold blame. Again, the reviews people post make you not do anything, its tough looking for honest feedback in perspective. im fair and try to be honest and real in my approach to reviewing as I know others will look for reviews like I do for new things. read more

Awesome indeed. I bring my daughter to Cornerstone Ranch in Princeton MA every once in a while and she always has a wonderful time. We go through fun trails where we have to guide the horses around the trees. They usually follow each other and are very well trained but you often have to engage and direct them. Sometimes the horses will see something they like to munch on but the staff taught us how to manage those situations well. Sometimes we would see trails that split in two then rejoin a few feet later and I usually lead my horse through the other path, just to put a little twist on it for my daughter, she loves it and has a great time. We always have an awesome time. My daughter now wants to take up weekly horseback riding lessons. read more

My friend and I found a Groupon for the 1-hour trail ride and decided to try it out. We had a good time and it was a fun, different way to spend an afternoon. The ride is pretty slow and leisurely so I could see it being a bit boring for an experienced rider, but it was perfect for a beginner who isn't super comfortable on a horse. The horses themselves were wonderful, very calm and gentle and responsive to steering. Actually, they knew the trail so well that you hardly even needed to steer. The volunteer guides were all very friendly and helpful. A few things they could have done a bit better: First, we did get plenty of direction about how to steer and control the horse, but the guides only did this after seating us on the horses. I have a little riding experience so this was fine for me, but I think it would have made the inexperienced riders more comfortable to get the instructions before getting on the horse (and maybe again afterwards). Second, the trail was quite muddy as others have stated. Because of this, the horses would walk along the very edge of the trail and you would get hit by some brush and branches. This wasn't a huge problem but it does seem like the trail should be maintained a bit better. Third, I would have loved to learn more about the horses and the ranch - we didn't hear much from the guides other than the instructions. read more

Went on 2 hr "trail" ride and it was a truly disappointing experience. Felt very disorganized. Did a poor job matching horses to riders and experience level was not taken into consideration. Went with a fellow equestrian and frankly we were appalled. First of all, this is NOT a trail ride. This is a road ride. I was looking forward to enjoying the serenity of the outdoors. Instead, we were taken up the road and back, which was stressful. This is unsafe for riders, drivers and horses. Also, any horse owner knows that pavement is extremely hard on a horses feet.... If you do not have trails, do not offer trail rides! They use the same horses over and over again without grooming, picking feet, or untacking. I genuinely felt bad for their horses and it was evident by their lack of energy that they were very tired. Furthermore, the guide at the front, Robin, was totally disengaged and rode ahead so she could rip cigarettes the whole time. I've been on many trail rides in many countries and have never had a less engaged guide. Didn't monitor us or even bother to teach any horsemanship/best practices. "Pull the reign to turn and if they don't turn, then pull harder" was one of the only instructions she offered... not only is that wrong, it can cause pain/injury to the horse. Little wonder they make you pay gratuity up front, and if I didn't use a groupon I would have asked for a refund. I do not recommend this place! There are many other reputable places to go. read more

Went here for a trail ride today for my girlfriends birthday and we couldn't have been happier. Our family took a two hour trail ride here on Labor Day weekend and had a great time. Horses were well-behaved and the volunteer staff were lovely -- friendly and attentive. The scenery was beautiful. The ranch itself was also fun, with friendly animals to pet -- kittens, dogs, a pig, goats, and of course horses. The ice cream wagon was also a welcome treat after the ride. read more

This was the second time my boyfriend and I have gone to Cornerstone Ranch for a wagon/sleigh ride for our anniversary! We were pleased both times. Sue, the owner, is super friendly and quick to respond to emails. Our original date to ride was Valentine's Day, but due to extremely cold conditions, we rescheduled and Sue was so nice. The ride was great and offered some history facts as well! I love animals so that helps my love for this place even more. I can't wait to go back, and am even considering trying a trail ride!! I hate giving a low rate but I have to be honest, it wasn't that great. Sue (the owner) and staff were great, they were friendly and helpful and the horses were wonderful. That being said, there were a few things that didn't meet my expectations at all, and I have pretty low expectation for this experience. It wasn't hard for us to get to the location as some people have said. Restrooms are outside, portable and it felt like it was never cleaned. We signed waivers that were pretty straight forward and picked out our helmets from the bin. That part bothers me as it seemed unsanitary. Some of the helmets were wet and ALL of them smells. I had to wipe them with sanitary wipes and it still smells afterwards. The trail was...awful. There was no scenery at all. Driving a car on a highway has better view than this trail. You're just riding in and out the woods, crossing the road, etc. There were also a LOT of rocks and poop on the trail! Yes, yes, I know, horses poop all the time, but some places actually remove the feces. Also, it was really hard to enjoy the ride when you and your horse are being bitten by bugs and stung by a bee. There were so many bugs! I wore long pants and still got bitten and stung by bee. I wish they provide bug sprays for the humans, too, not just for the horses. Knowing there are many bugs this time of the year. Lastly, there was no water or wet-wipes to clean your hands afterwards, so I left with bumps and feeling itchy from the bugs, and dirty from head to toe. I wanted to like this place, especially knowing that they rescue the horses and how this is a family business. But I've had better experiences than this one. I hope they'd improve and maybe I'll try it again. read more

I wish i could rate this place 0 stars. Its a pity I have to rate it so low as I love animals and admire people who devote their lives to rescue and care for them. However, I hope that the employees at this ranch treat horses better than they treat their customers. I spent an hour and a half getting there to be told that they were double booked and since I was 10 minutes late there wasnt a horse I could ride! They also refused to give me my money back telling that I should get in touch with the owner via email. After driving for an hour and a half and getting lost in the process, I arrived 10 minutes late for my reservation as the place is not easy to find. I tried calling to say that I was running 10 minutes late but kept getting a voice mail with an email address. I even sent an email while driving (very unsafe), but got no response. To top my frustration is not the fact that I ended up empty handed, but the way I was treated by the female employee. She was not only rude, but even got unnecessary abrasive and even aggressive. She never invited me in, showed the horses or even greeted me properly. She called me 'tardy' and told me to go hang out elsewhere and offered to come back in 2.5 hours if I wanted a different ride as they were double booked and there wasnt a horse for me. I believe it was the worst customer service experience I ever had. Its not the fact that they could not accommodate me after being late but the attitude and the unfriendly way the whole situation was handled I find unacceptable. And in all honesty, since I made my reservation 2 days in advance and paid for it, they could have picked up the phone or check their email to see why their guests are running late. Hope they care more about the animals and at some point start carrying about their customers. read more

If you buy a two hour trail ride, you expect a two hour trail ride, no? Ours lasted about an hour and 20 minutes. When my friend mentioned it to Sue as we were getting off our horses, she said "you know, the two hours include the little exercises we do on the horses before we get going." That would be fine with me, but I actually added them in to my math, so it's still far from a two hour trail ride. When I mentioned that the ride was pretty short, she said "the two hours include the time it takes us to get the horses all ready and saddled before the ride, and taking the saddles off again afterwards." Seriously? So how long does the 1 hour trail ride last? If you pay a dog walker for a one hour walk, does the hour include the time it takes him to put on his shoes and drive to your place and back home and take off his shoes again? It was pretty obvious that ours was the last ride of the day and she just wanted to be done with work and go home. And sorry, the friendly reminder to give a $10 tip is pretty ridiculous after cutting the ride short like that. Also, the trail is pretty boring, 90% of the time along the power lines, down one hill, up the next, ("look, you can see where we started! isn't that amazing?") and back the same way. The path is also very rocky, and the pace is extra slow. I could go on a whole other rant about Sue's customer service skills, but that was a different day and a different story. I recommend you also look at the google reviews, you'll see that I'm not the one lonely grumpface who hates life in general and hence disliked the pretty horsey day. I wish I had seen the google reviews before deciding to go horse riding at this place. The star is for the horses. They were nice and friendly. The dog was very friendly, too. So if you've never been on a horse before, the trail ride might be nice enough and worth the Groupon price, and if Sue is having a good day she might be fun and friendly after the ride, too, not just before. I doubt the trail ride is ever worth the full 70 bucks though... read more

I'm not sure what many of the previous reviewers were complaining about with the helmets, there were tons to choose from ... yes they were used ... duh! But certainly not smelly or dirty. There were tons to choose from with is good because they are hard plastic and there are so many size and shaped heads - i had to try on about 10 until i found the one that fit me best, but it was in there! Sue did a great job with the tour. We LOVED Dozer (the pot belly pig who thinks he's a horse!) My girlfriend rode Dakota and loved him ... while I had the magnificent beast of a horse named Sadie. The only downside to the day was the rider in the front (or maybe the horse she was on) was so slow I had to spend 90% of the 2 hour ride on the brakes with Sadie. Those slower horses should really be in the back of the pack. That might have just been that day ... other than that - the facility was great, Sue and her helpers were great, we'll definitely be back, read more

They would have gotten a better rating from me if the incident that happened at the end of our trail ride hadn't occurred. Very disappointing! I went on the 2 hour trail ride with a friend and our 8 year old daughters. We had a great time! The guides that went with us, Renee and I believe the other woman was named Mary, were very friendly and helpful. After the ride we sat around a fire to warm up with hot chocolate and had a picnic lunch at the picnic tables. After lunch the girls wanted to explore the farm and see the other horses/animals and got permission to do so. The farm has a pet pig, Dozer, and a pet dog, Angus. They were friendly to each other the whole time we were there (the pig actually joined us on the trail ride!) until shortly before we were leaving, Angus started chasing, barking and biting at Dozer. It didn't look like they were playing at all. My daughter got upset at this and tried to shoo the dog away from the pig and she got screamed at by a lady on a tractor that ASSUMED my daughter was just being mean and chasing the animals. Her attitude and behavior was completely out of line. When I spoke to her for yelling at my daughter she then was very rude to me. The sad thing is that I believe the lady on the tractor is the owner of Cornerstone Ranch. It was a complete turn off and definitely time for us to leave. I would have planned a return trip in the future(even after driving over an hour from Braintree, MA) but after that experience I'd much rather go elsewhere. Enjoy your trail ride when you go to Cornerstone Ranch but be on the lookout for the mean lady on the tractor! read more

Very disapointed! Very unprofessional! Not worth the money! I paid for the groupon deal for my boyfriend and myself to go on a private sleigh/carriage ride 1-14-17 at 3:00 pm. I thought it would be sweet and romantic. We showed up 5 min early had hot chocolate no smores because there was there was no fire ready. The carriage was 15 minutes late arriving. The owner and a student were driving a small carriage with thin wheels. It was very warm a couple days previous so were informed that because it was so cold everything was frozen over and very bumpy there were too many ruts for such thin tires to go through the woods. They proceeded to drive us around the yard a couple times went inside the indoor arena did a bunch of circles in there then drove around the yard a couple more times. The owner figured this would be the perfect time to teach her student how to drive the team of horses so she was instructing almost the whole time. We stopped at exactly 3:35 which the ride was supposed to be a half hour and not 20 min. On to of all of that there was another private carriage ride that went out with a bigger wagon pulled by a team of larger draft horses. The wagon was driven by a single driver and had bigger tires so they went right into the wooded trail no problem. I am happy it was a Groupon deal so it wasn't full price but I still feel really shafted and wish I had never spent the money. We only tipped $5 because I don't feel like I should be paying any more then I already did for the owner/our carriage driver to instruct her student. I wish I could get a refund read more

We were so excited to have this experience, but our expectations were a let down. Helmets were not clean and not sanitary. Perhaps a disposable tissue paper inside the helmets would have made my friend more at ease. The ride was ok nothing special. Trail was very muddy and slippery in many areas. My friend's horse was uncontrollable and kept pinning her between trees and brush so she aborted the ride early on. She was amazed the staff didn't offer to help her with first aid on her bleeding hand or even offer some water. to drink. Would not return here, read more

I haven't even been to this place yet and I'm already upset. There is no way to talk to someone directly over phone, just an automated voicemail. I have sent 3 messages to the email listed on website in reguards to the snow storm and no one has gotten back to me. Bad customer service. read more

What a mess. We arrived and got stuck in the parking lot because of all the snow (had been a couple days since the last snow storm). Several others cards were stuck too. We walked up to the farm, 2 adults 2 children, and no one was there to greet us. We had an 1:30 booking. Finally at 1:40 someone came over to explain they were doing a test run due to all the snow. Shouldn't that be done prior to the customers arriving? Then they called the 1pm booking. They ere 45 mins late! We had to wait with two small children in the freezing cold next to a tiny fire in the snow. Finally it was our turn. The blankets on the sleigh were wet. The owner was driving. She had to stop to talk to someone else and asked him to join. She decided to go out by the power lines where "there would be less snow". We got stuck not even 3 minutes into the ride. No matter what they did the horses wouldn't budge. She needed up getting off our sleigh and going with another driver, leaving us in the snow, 6 adults and two small children (one being only 2) with this other man. We were asked to get off in almost waist deep snow. He still couldn't get the horses to move. We ended up all walking back, carrying the kids since the snow was too deep for them. We were all frozen and upset and no one came to say anything to us. We week later and no emails from the ranch. Just a terrible experience. I understand bad days happen, but take care of your customers! No offers for another ride or refund. read more

Not too excited about my experience, very slow/old unhappy and tired horses, the trail was just turning around and around on the same circuit, save your money and go somewhere where you can enjoy a real horse back riding. read more

My friend and I went to Cornerstone today for the 2 hour trail ride. We have gone riding before, so we do something to compare to. We had a great time! We paid the same price at another place and did not get two hours or the scenery we got here. Yes, there are power lines you pass by but it doesn't take away from the scenery. Unfortunately, it rained last night so of course the trails were very muddy, but that's mother-nature!! part of doing outdoor activities! At the other place we went to we were able to bring the horses to a trot, but that's because it was only the two of us on the trail, so yes, this ride seemed slow.. but not to the point where i didn't enjoy it. I was riding Shilo, who had a quite the personality. She was fun and made me laugh throughout the ride :) I would recommend this place to novice riders. read more

I found cornerstone ranch on groupon and figured wth I'd give it a try. booked a 2 hrs trail ride for my family. my husband, myself, my daughters ages 15 and 17. we were not disappointed in the least. we were greeted promptly and politely and we're give. permission to look around the property and at the horses while we waited for our entire group to arrive. absolutely beautiful property, beaitiful horses and we'll maintained barn and all animals looked very well cared for. we were assigned our horses according to experience and weight and given a short by very helpful talk about safety, basic riding tips and a little history about the property and the horse we were riding. we left on time and the entire 2 hrs trail ride was amazing. staff answered many questions about the property, horses history etc. when we completed our ride we were offered hot cocoa in the barn and even got a chance to meet the owner of the property. even though she was busy with her horses and staff she took time to chat with us about our animals our family and thanked us for coming. Overall impression. and experience was top notch. very friendly very professional staff, on time with our ride and horses were very well cared for and very well behaved. we definitely recommend this business to anyone looking to enjoy a trail ride, lesson, sleigh ride. read more

This place needs a TEN! My husband and teen have been there before, but today we went as a a family of 4. My youngest, nearly 10 has only ridden once before, and these amazing people went above and beyond to accommodate her needs. The staff are very caring and extremely well trained, they clearly know what they are doing and you feel comfortable the moment you arrive, and you feel welcomed by everyone. The horses are clearly well cared for, as an animal lover this meant the World to me. The Ranch was clean, the environment, surrounding areas, portable toilets, everything was just perfect. Honestly, I could not pick one single fault even if I wanted to with my OCD! This family run business clearly love what they do, and it shows every second you are there, it shows through their staff, their animals, the cleanliness of the facility, the safety measures they ensure happen, and this means a lot being an ex Nurse! Seriously, this is one place that I can not and will not stop raving about, and will be going back to again and again, in fact, my teen can not wait to start volunteering there regularly just to spend time with the staff and the horses. Thank you to everyone, you made such a difference in 2 kids lives today, and gave some much needed family time to us, THANK YOU! xxxx read more

Okay so it was intended to be a mild New England Spring day, perfect for horseback riding amongst the trees of Western Massachusetts, but who am I kidding? It's said in New England if you want to know what the weather is going to be, look out the window. Weather aside, it ended up being an awesome ride. It was on the cold side, and the winds whipped up periodically, but having layered up and trusting the peek out the window versus our local weathermen paid off. I found the staff very friendly and accommodating. Explanations were provided in such a way that even the most novice of riders would be inspired to confidence. They were polite, encouraging and sought to make it a good experience for all involved. There's nothing like riding among the tall pines and leafless maple trees this time of year. I look forward to going when the mountain laurel is blooming and the autumn leaves are turning. At one point, there is a vista atop a hill with an expansive view of Boston. The horses are gentle and easy to ride. They also offer sleigh rides in the winter, making this a year round dest read more

Pleasantly surprised with this local family owned farm!! As I live in the area, (half hour away in Worcester) I was VERY impressed with the young girl running it; She was extremely organized, knowledgable, and friendly!! As an administrator, I know the perils of organizing a large group, and she has it DOWN!! She fits each rider with the perfect horse for their ability, which is comforting to new riders. As an experienced rider, it was nice to see the time she took with each person, even though she probably does this 30 times a ride. The horses are mostly all rescues from dire situations, and I was happy to hear work only one or two days a week. They all are very well taken care of; Clean barn, clean stalls (I looked!!) Over all great place and super family/kid friendly. I was psyched to hear about winter sleigh rides and hot chocolate, which means I will definitely be back for some winter fun, and will ride with them again. Thanks Cornerstone for a fun day with my bestie! read more

I had a very pleasant time and the only negatives were things mostly out of the Ranch's control (for example, as other reviewers mentioned - the bugs! But they do also instruct beforehand that you should bring bug spray). However, as a least one other person mentioned, I would recommend/appreciate the helmets being a little cleaner. I purchased the one-hour trail ride Groupon and felt the length of time was good (although my back end which had not been in a saddle for many years disagreed!) The staff were all very friendly and enthusiastic. My horse was well-behaved and responsive to commands. In fact the owner, Sue, went above and beyond as my friend and I missed our original booking due to work commitments and they were happy to let us re-book for another date, even though we cancelled well within 48 hours of the start time and should have had to forfeit our ride (as is the policy). read more

A truly "Magical" experience! I recently went on a wagon ride with a group of friends. From the moment we pulled in and saw Po the goat in the driveway to greet us I knew it would be special. We had three young women who took us through a truly magical journey. When we waiting in the wagon to begin our ride a chicken named "Chicken Dumpling" hopped on the wagon and ended up accompanying us for the whole ride! Our wagon was drawn by two gorgeous horses, Frack and Hank. The young ladies we incredibly informative about how the ranch operates and the care for all of the wonderful animals. At the end we had hot chocolate and Smores! This adventure was just what I needed to get into the Holiday Spirit! I look forward to going back! Thank you to everyone at Cornerstone Ranch for your hospitality and kindness, I am grateful for a truly memorable afternoon! Happy Holidays to all! read more

Through Groupon I found Cornerstone Ranch.. I booked my ride with my girlfriend and we embarked on our two hour horse ride adventure past Saturday, June 2nd.. One of my "Bucket List" adventures, marked in the "check" column... The experience in and of itself was wonderful... It's a slow paced lead trail adventure. The instructor is knowledgeable and dedicates their lifestyle to the commitment and care of the horses within their possession... Some of these horses are rescues, which alternatively would have met an untimely outcome, if it wasn't for Cornerstone at the rescue. Cornerstone Ranch gave these rescue horses new life and purpose.. It's a horse ride adventure for all ages (children and adults).. Ask about their sleigh rides, as well... A memorable couple or family experience... read more

My husband and I did the Two Hour Trail Ride for Two yesterday and it was awesome! I think due to the weather it wasn't a very scenic trail (with the terribly wet mucky grounds and bare trees) but it was lovely nonetheless. We got out admissions through Groupon and there were no issues (very easy to book online). If you're a beginner and never ride a horse (as I was) have no fear ! Julie and Tom will take great care of you and calming your nerves. We had great customer service and despite it being dirty (cause we'll it is a farm) the horses were pretty clean and were docile and trustworthy. Definitely going back when we can and asking for the same horses we had (Sunny & Louie). Thanks for the awesome experience! read more

I had an amazing experience here for my birthday . We went on a delightful trail ride for two hours in the snow. So beautiful, and calming. Such a peaceful area the trail was on. An amazing experience. The tour guide we had was Julia. She was so sweet and full of knowledge. We laughed and talked about different things. No matter how cold my toes were the ride made me forget all about them. Tommy was my horse. I can't wait to go again. After our ride, we got to have hot Chocolate by the fire and make s'mores!!!! Everyone was so welcoming and kind especially their dog Angus!!!! I can not wait to bring my boys here for the next ride. Best Birthday ever!!!! read more

I have been riding off and on at Cornerstone, mostly over the past year. It's a hike for me, a bit over an hours drive and it's worth the trip. I've enjoyed the two hour trail rides. Recently I've started taking riding lessons. Though I've ridden since a child I've never had formal training. Julia has been my instructor. Young, very professional and it's obvious that she's an accomplished rider and has she has a talent for teaching. She quickly picks up and the bad habits I've developed over the years and she quickly corrects them. She doesn't let me get away with anything. I've never been disappointed here. I don't think anyone else would either. read more

My son and I visited Cornerstone Ranch yesterday and it was such a wonderful experience. I wish I could remember the staff's names but I was a little bit nervous so I forgot when they introduced themselves. We did the hour trail guide and moved at a very comfortable pace. Some of the trail was a bit muddy and at other points a little rocky, but we were on the horses and it made for a very interesting time. I rode Sadie (hope I'm spelling it right) and my son rode Tommy, and they were such awesome horses! I can't wait to go back and try the wagon ride sometime in the fall or winter. It was truly an awesome experience! Thank you Cornerstone Ranch!! read more

Amazing Time, experience - a must try What an amazing experience. Loved it so much that i look forward to going back again at least once a month. My daughter wanted something to do this summer and when I saw a Groupon for Cornerstone Ranch for a 2 hour trial ride I figured "why not?" When we pulled up there was a hard working woman taking care of the horses this was Robin. The Day we went was a very hot day 97 degrees at 10 in the morning. The horses were well behaved and fed. Sue the owner is Kind and Friendly. She explained all that we needed to know for riding. The ride was just that a trail ride in the woods and around her property. Both my daughter and I enjoyed the day very much and we will return with friends even read more

Cannot thank Monique (our driver !) and the staff at Cornerstone enough ! This is our second year doing a winter sleigh ride and even though there wasn't a lot of snow, we again had great time! My husband and I brought another couple and they enjoyed it as well. The work you do with these animals is wonderful ! Sitting around the campfire and meeting other customers was a beautiful way to end our holiday season ! And your dog Angus will be happy to see us return as he joined us in eating our Charcuterie board we brought !! LOL Thank you Cornerstone! read more

Had A great time and I am hoping to bring some friends with me the next time. Get there early so you can ask questions if you are a beginner, this will also help her choose the right horse for you. If you are looking for a more aggressive trail ride you might have to contact her and see if she offers this type of riding. This ride is very casual so if you just love to ride, sit back and relax, this ride is for you! PS, I had Dakota, excellent trail horse responds very nicely, was a joy to ride! Thank You! read more

Our one hour trail ride was the most amazing experience! Fell in love with my horse Hercules who gave me the best gift of a positive experience my first time riding a horse. Signed up a few years ago at this ranch but got got scared and cancelled. I have always loved horses but afraid to ride one.The fire pit, beautiful trail through the woods, view where we could actually see Boston, Shetland pony Miller, dogs, and apple pie with ice cream added to our experience. Wonderful place, just wonderful. Your outside, traveling through the beautiful woods, with a kind, well trained equine professional. We were greeted with a warm fire, hot chocolate, ponies, s'mores and plenty of elbow room to insure social distancing. Our family had a great time! Samantha, our sleigh driver, was amazing, friendly, informative and skilled at handling the horses. Everyone had a sweet and safe experience! It will become a fun tradition with our many grands!!! read more

Nice and friendly trail guides! These horses are absolutely beautiful and very well trained! Clean and well taken care of ranch! I instantly fell in love with their dog Angus and pig, Dozer. Friendly animals. Would definitely go back! The only thing I would change would be the pace. I wish we could have trotted a little bit! But seriously great experience. I rode Sadie, beautiful and very very friendly horse! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!! read more

I booked thru Groupon and rode a horse for the first time, both my young girls have ridden previously and loved it! The horses are so well trained and calm. My girls had the cutest ponies to ride on for the 1 hour trail. The farm is really organized and clean, i've been to other farms where it's not the case. Everyone is very friendly and genuinely loves the horses, it feels like a family atmosphere, not just a business. Would definitely go back. read more

My family went on horse draw wagon ride yesterday through the woods enjoying the fall spectacular views. The kids loved watching the gorgeous black horses pulling us. Sue was very informative regarding the history of the ranch, the horses and many old sayings that may have come from the early years of horse drawn carriages. The kids loved their bells which were used in olden days to alert any pedestrians who may be on the wagon tracks read more
