My aunt went here with my uncle and was attempting to get onto a horse, she fell off and hurt herself really badly and ended up breaking her hip. the staff was no help and did not even help my uncle to help her up. It was horrible! now she needs surgery, horrible staff. read more

What a mess. We arrived and got stuck in the parking lot because of all the snow (had been a couple days since the last snow storm). Several others cards were stuck too. We walked up to the farm, 2 adults 2 children, and no one was there to greet us. We had an 1:30 booking. Finally at 1:40 someone came over to explain they were doing a test run due to all the snow. Shouldn't that be done prior to the customers arriving? Then they called the 1pm booking. They ere 45 mins late! We had to wait with two small children in the freezing cold next to a tiny fire in the snow. Finally it was our turn. The blankets on the sleigh were wet. The owner was driving. She had to stop to talk to someone else and asked him to join. She decided to go out by the power lines where "there would be less snow". We got stuck not even 3 minutes into the ride. No matter what they did the horses wouldn't budge. She needed up getting off our sleigh and going with another driver, leaving us in the snow, 6 adults and two small children (one being only 2) with this other man. We were asked to get off in almost waist deep snow. He still couldn't get the horses to move. We ended up all walking back, carrying the kids since the snow was too deep for them. We were all frozen and upset and no one came to say anything to us. We week later and no emails from the ranch. Just a terrible experience. I understand bad days happen, but take care of your customers! No offers for another ride or refund. read more

I'm not sure what many of the previous reviewers were complaining about with the helmets, there were tons to choose from ... yes they were used ... duh! But certainly not smelly or dirty. There were tons to choose from with is good because they are hard plastic and there are so many size and shaped heads - i had to try on about 10 until i found the one that fit me best, but it was in there! Sue did a great job with the tour. We LOVED Dozer (the pot belly pig who thinks he's a horse!) My girlfriend rode Dakota and loved him ... while I had the magnificent beast of a horse named Sadie. The only downside to the day was the rider in the front (or maybe the horse she was on) was so slow I had to spend 90% of the 2 hour ride on the brakes with Sadie. Those slower horses should really be in the back of the pack. Very disapointed! Very unprofessional! Not worth the money! I paid for the groupon deal for my boyfriend and myself to go on a private sleigh/carriage ride 1-14-17 at 3:00 pm. I thought it would be sweet and romantic. We showed up 5 min early had hot chocolate no smores because there was there was no fire ready. The carriage was 15 minutes late arriving. The owner and a student were driving a small carriage with thin wheels. It was very warm a couple days previous so were informed that because it was so cold everything was frozen over and very bumpy there were too many ruts for such thin tires to go through the woods. They proceeded to drive us around the yard a couple times went inside the indoor arena did a bunch of circles in there then drove around the yard a couple more times. The owner figured this would be the perfect time to teach her student how to drive the team of horses so she was instructing almost the whole time. We stopped at exactly 3:35 which the ride was supposed to be a half hour and not 20 min. On to of all of that there was another private carriage ride that went out with a bigger wagon pulled by a team of larger draft horses. The wagon was driven by a single driver and had bigger tires so they went right into the wooded trail no problem. I am happy it was a Groupon deal so it wasn't full price but I still feel really shafted and wish I had never spent the money. We only tipped $5 because I don't feel like I should be paying any more then I already did for the owner/our carriage driver to instruct her student. I wish I could get a refund read more

We were so excited to have this experience, but our expectations were a let down. Helmets were not clean and not sanitary. Perhaps a disposable tissue paper inside the helmets would have made my friend more at ease. The ride was ok nothing special. Trail was very muddy and slippery in many areas. My friend's horse was uncontrollable and kept pinning her between trees and brush so she aborted the ride early on. They would have gotten a better rating from me if the incident that happened at the end of our trail ride hadn't occurred. Very disappointing! I went on the 2 hour trail ride with a friend and our 8 year old daughters. We had a great time! The guides that went with us, Renee and I believe the other woman was named Mary, were very friendly and helpful. After the ride we sat around a fire to warm up with hot chocolate and had a picnic lunch at the picnic tables. After lunch the girls wanted to explore the farm and see the other horses/animals and got permission to do so. The farm has a pet pig, Dozer, and a pet dog, Angus. They were friendly to each other the whole time we were there (the pig actually joined us on the trail ride!) until shortly before we were leaving, Angus started chasing, barking and biting at Dozer. It didn't look like they were playing at all. My daughter got upset at this and tried to shoo the dog away from the pig and she got screamed at by a lady on a tractor that ASSUMED my daughter was just being mean and chasing the animals. Her attitude and behavior was completely out of line. When I spoke to her for yelling at my daughter she then was very rude to me. The sad thing is that I believe the lady on the tractor is the owner of Cornerstone Ranch. It was a complete turn off and definitely time for us to leave. I would have planned a return trip in the future(even after driving over an hour from Braintree, MA) but after that experience I'd much rather go elsewhere. My friend and I went to Cornerstone today for the 2 hour trail ride. We have gone riding before, so we do something to compare to. We had a great time! We paid the same price at another place and did not get two hours or the scenery we got here. Yes, there are power lines you pass by but it doesn't take away from the scenery. Unfortunately, it rained last night so of course the trails were very muddy, but that's mother-nature!! part of doing outdoor activities! At the other place we went to we were able to bring the horses to a trot, but that's because it was only the two of us on the trail, so yes, this ride seemed slow.. but not to the point where i didn't enjoy it. I was riding Shilo, who had a quite the personality. She was fun and made me laugh throughout the ride :) I would recommend this place to novice riders. read more

Okay so it was intended to be a mild New England Spring day, perfect for horseback riding amongst the trees of Western Massachusetts, but who am I kidding? It's said in New England if you want to know what the weather is going to be, look out the window. Weather aside, it ended up being an awesome ride. It was on the cold side, and the winds whipped up periodically, but having layered up and trusting the peek out the window versus our local weathermen paid off. I found the staff very friendly and accommodating. Explanations were provided in such a way that even the most novice of riders would be inspired to confidence. They were polite, encouraging and sought to make it a good experience for all involved. There's nothing like riding among the tall pines and leafless maple trees this time of year. I look forward to going when the mountain laurel is blooming and the autumn leaves are turning. At one point, there is a vista atop a hill with an expansive view of Boston. Bought the groupon for 4 for the horse drawn sleigh ride. We had snow recently so the sleigh was in operation. I was nervous after reading the reviews on other sites but I don't know what these people were complaining about...my family and I (husband and 3 boys ages 6, 4, and 2) had a wonderful time. We got there early and made smores, visited with the horses and farm cat, and had hot chocolate. Doug let my older sons hold the reins and "drive" Sadie and Tanya during the ride. It was a great experience, it even snowed while we were on the sleigh ride through the woods. The ranch and the animals seemed very well cared for and as an animal lover (and vet tech) myself I didn't see an unhappy or ill cared for creature anywhere...they were all extremely friendly and well adjusted. Angus the farm dog was a welcomed personality and gave my middle son a bunch of kisses. We had a great time and appreciated the hospitality of the staff especially with our small children. The restroom is a portapotty but big deal you are on a farm...I would definitely recommend this experience to friends, worth the money...30 minutes was perfect for the kids! and they didn't want to leave once the ride was through...Thanks Cornerstone for a wonderful family adventure :) read more

She immediately matched us to the horses according to skill level and insured that everyone had a clear understanding of how to handle the horse and reins. Attended a birthday party at the ranch with my daughter. Unfortunately, it was horribly unorganized. The owners were no where to be found for the first 20 minutes of the party so the kids were left to play on their swing set. They took them on a wagon ride for quite a while, just making the same small loop multiple times. They kids didn't get to the pony rides until an hour and a half into the party, and they each got to ride once around the small round pasture once, and few kids went twice. And the owners had their young children leading the pony rides with no adult supervision. Very disappointing - such a great idea if it was run better. read more

I was schedule for 10/6/18 from 2-4 PM, we got to the place after 1.5 hour driving got there at 1:35 PM as I was told to arrive 30 minutes prior to 2PM....parked my vehicle started walking towards to what seem to be the place to go and wait....did not see a sign that would tell me as to where I was supposed to wait....but since there was a few other people there I figure this is it. A lady with short to medium length blonde curly hair pulled back in a ponytail was on the other side of the fence with the horses talking to 2 ladies that seem to be there to ride the horses...I could tell as she told them to walk around there were many things they could see....this blonde lady not sure if it's you AT NO POINT AND TIME did she acknowledge we got there to at least say hello and welcome....NOTHING!! I just stood there with my boyfriend....another couple arrived they were the only ones that said hello....also waited there...the lady with the blonde curly hair kept doing her thing with the horses....it was 2:15 and still no word as to why we was still waiting there when we was scheduled from 2-4 PM...I felt so uncomfortable just that no one was there to welcome us and to let us know what to do how long we had to wait if we needed to fill out a paper ect...ect... like they said " THERE'S NO SECOND CHANCE TO MAKE A FIRST IMPRESSION" So with this said, lost my money on my tickets wasted gas driving for 3 hours back and forth...I feel very disappointed....who knows maybe because we don't have the blonde hair with the blue eyes got this type of treatment. I booked 2 for the two hour trail ride and arrive at 3:50 for a 430 to 630 ride. This was a 1 1/2 ride for me and I was told to arrive at 4:00. The weather for the two days before showed a good chance of lightning and thunderstorms for this whole window of the ride time. I arrived and expected more riders but it was only me and my daughter scheduled. I wouldn't have minded riding in rain but soon into our ride, it began pouring continuously for at least 45 minutes. It was quite miserable and I don't think anyone should be around so many trees with threats of lightning and this couldn't have been more unsafe. The pouring rain finally slowed down and now we were drenched (not just wet, but soaked to the bone). We road for another maybe 20 min and arrived back at the ranch at 6:00 even though it was supposed to be a 2 hour ride. The website had said they would "wait out" a storm, not ride through a storm. My long ride home felt even longer because I didn't think I needed a change of clothes for the ride home. So all in all, this was quite miserable and far from the relaxing trail ride it should have been. I would have rescheduled but had recieved an email stating then ride was still on. It was only my daughter scheduled for this ride time, so I was surprised we weren't given the option to reschedule the ride for a nicer day. read more

Having been a very experienced rider and one who has experienced trail rides at other ranches, I can honestly say that I was very disappointed on 4/22/2018 when I experienced 2 trail rides there. Each 2 hour trail ride was in truth only 1 hour and 20 minutes both times I went on them. I do not appreciate deception. They were honest that the horses would only walk. They did not forthrightly share that the leader would stop frequently to chat with customers at the front of the line while the group waited during the ride, which appeared like they were trying to elongate the experience to fill in the time. Both rides were 90% on the tar road (a first for me), so I would not call that a trail ride: more deception. While we were on the curving tar road, which served for cars as well, the "leader" of the trail ride remained almost entirely in the center point of the road and the trail horses were trained to follow the leader. It was often times a distressful struggle to see the other customers try to bring their horses over to the right side of the road to safety when cars were passing. The groupon did not disclose the mandatory gratuity fee: more deception. As my friend put it who was there, this is not even an acceptable experience for those who have no idea that far better trail rides are available elsewhere. This is an expensive rip off! read more

I just got from a trail ride with my two kids (10 & 11) - only positive experience for all of us. I bought a groupon, so the price was reasonable. The staff was friendly, they fitted us with horses which seem to suit our personalities/physical abilities. Horses were very well behaved, if anything a little too well behaved :). With exception of the horse of my 11 year old who really wanted to eat anything on its way, all other animals were very evenly tempered and we enjoyed the ride tremendously. I read the reviews and was thinking and watching the quality of the trail. Yes, it definitely was muddy and rocky, but it didn't seem to bother horses at all - of course I am not a professional and don't have much experience, but it seemed that they were picking their way and were not in any discomfort. After the ride kids spent some time on the ranch petting farm animals and deemed this trip "the best experience ever!". We'll definitely be back! read more

having never been riding before we bought a groupon and went for the 2 hour trail ride. staff was very friendly and informative. yes it is a slow walk with no trotting but for a beginner it was just what i was looking for. the horses were well behaved and well cared for. the two times we went we never had any issues with misbehaved horses. lots of complaints about the distance people traveled and about missing their trail ride because they were late. i don't know about most people but before scheduling an activity i always check to see how far away it is and the site does say get there a half hour early. remember that there are other people waiting also if you show up late you can not expect everyone to just sit there and wait. i would def reccomend cornerstone ranch to others. i have even started taking riding lessons there. its great to see how well cared for these horses are. read more

This was my second trail ride, and I'm also a beginner rider. I have worked with horses alot in the past, so understand abit about their behaviors, which helped ALOT. I think this trail ride is good for beginners. It is a slow ride, and the friendly staff help you throughout the trip. The trail is rough at times (just having gone there were no bugs or summer grass troubles), and I was on the last ride of the day(2-4) so my horse Dusty was probably slower than usual anyway. Recommend an earlier ride to get peppy horses since I haven't heard of trail rides that happen just once a day? I do think many of the reviews were on point. It depends on what you are looking for when you use a service like this. The last trail ride I went on elsewhere there was no instructional and they didn't watch us at all-which led to my horse bucking and biting other horses throughout the entire ride! Overall, everything seemed average with signing the waiver and helmets in my opinion will always be dirty with this many riders whether they are in a bin or hanging up. Booked a two hour trail ride for 2:30. No one arrived to great anyone till 2:15. We were still assigning horses by 2:40. You are expected to fill out wavers and they just assumed you did and then told to put on helmets that were disgusting and didn't looked like they had been cleaned and some of them were broken. No clean bathrooms or place to wash your hands. There was two port-a-potty for the bathroom and only sanitizer in one of them. It was a steep ride around power lines, it was extremely muddy and rocky. The lead rider walked at least 50 yards in front of the group the entire time. If you have any experience riding this place is far to boring for you and if you have no experience riding this is far to dangerous. Getting told it adds value to the ride every time you get to a peak isn't something you want to hear. The lead rider walked her horse back for the rest of the ride. It was the most boring and unsafe ride I've ever been on. The staff seemed to pay little attention to riders when they were coming down a very rocky hill. Being guilted into leaving a tip is not acceptable by any means. I would never return to this ranch again and would give it 0 stars if possible. read more
