My favorite park in Henderson! It's a great place to get some exercise and spend time in nature. I was there yesterday and I saw at least 50 turtles in the water along with ducks and geese. The restrooms are usually clean and there are lots of other amenities like covered picnic areas, basketball courts, and an exercise station. If you're looking for a peaceful spot to spend some time outside, this is it!

The Cambridge Dictionary defines cornerstone as something of great importance that everything else depends on. Additionally, the One Health approach recognizes that the health of humans, animals, and ecosystems are interconnected. Protect public lands!

A very nice community park offering many desirable attractions including such things as: parking, walking trails, basketball courts, fitness workout area, restroom facility, kids play area, picnic areas, and a man-made water feature that attracts birds, ducks, geese, and even seagulls! There was a small farmer's market in the parking lot when we visited the park. Surprised to see road runners. Even more surprised to have the roadrunners checking us out while we were walking by. They got rather close too; about 10 feet away. Seagulls flying around too.

Oh Cornerstone, a special place in my heart you hold. As a runner in Vegas it's hard to find somewhere flat to do intervals, threshold, etc. and while the loop isn't necessarily flat, it makes for a great running location. This is largely due to the giant body of water that includes various bird species year round. The trail around the water is well maintained and half of it has a dirt section which is lovely. The staff do a good job of keeping the bathrooms as clean as you can at an outdoor park. There is also basketball ball courts, a fitness center, and volleyball courts next to the bathrooms. Another big plus is that there is virtually no homeless people or trash compared to some of the other parks on the area. This park is also connected by the Union Pacific railroad trail and the Pittman Walsh trail which are bike trails that go for miles! If you're in Vegas for a weekend and wanna keep up with your running I highly recommend you make your way to cornerstone

Nice clean park. Park has plenty of tables just in case you and your family decide to have a picnic.

Amazing park! There is a ton of parking and just the size of the park is huge. There were turtles and ducks in the water to look and enjoy while walking around. The park also has seating and tables if you want to enjoy a nice snack or meal there. If you are walking around the water in the summer there is not really much shade so make sure to bring a ton of water if you are going to walk while it is hot.

Great park to walk around the water or relax in green valley. Currently the Earth's Harmonies Art Installation is on display. Great for birders as well!

Absolutely recommending Cornerstone Park for anyone who wants to get more steps done in their life. I definitely enjoy walking around this park, especially during the cooler weather. The park is well taken care of, always clean! The trees and bushes and all plants are trimmed both by the walking path and by the lake. The walking paths, the bathrooms, ballpark, picnic areas and parking areas are well lit at night time. The park is open from 6 am to midnight! There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy here, especially in the weekend when there is a Farmer's Market, or some fun activities such a fundraiser event for a local charity or community event for all ages. Please check their website or a poster calendar for any events or activities!

I got to check out the parks display for Memorial Day to honor our fallen! Love this!! Thank you for remembering what this day is for. Too bad so many have forgotten and take advantage of the freedoms we have in this country! God bless our troops! Thank you is never enough.

This is definitely a great park that takes you out of the normal element of Vegas/Henderson. It has a lovely lake that I actually hope they clean up a bit more, and add some more scenery to. This location definitely has more potential to be an actual paradise. Overall it is a nice place with some solitude to clear your mind and enjoy the day with the ducks that live here, and also the friendly people walking their dogs and getting their workout on...as me and wifey do ourselves. I definitely recommend this park if your looking for a different setup and a change to your walk or just to relax and hang out. God bless

Definitely one of my favorite places in the valley. It's got a beautiful track with a few "trails" that go around it. People are friendly and it's a great place to bring your dog or partner for a nice peaceful walk, in a little bit of kinda nature, in the heart of the burbs.

Ask the Community - Cornerstone Park

Parking is close for old people?

Yes! There's ample handicap parking as well as plenty of normal parking that stretches across the west side of the park. Most of the parking is only two rows deep so no matter where you park it's a short walk to a sidewalk that connects to the rest…

    Are there grills?

    Yes, there are grills.

Are the rims on the basketball courts?

    Yes

Is there fishes in that water? And if so. Can you fish?

There are fish, but no fishing allowed

What is the distance of the trail for one lap?

    Approximately 1.25 miles

Hello, I'm new to Vegas. I want to bring my puppies and go fishing for sport. Do the have fishing? Even to cast a line it gets my puppies attention 😊

    Unfortunately No fishing is permitted

Can I let my dogs swim here?

No one is allowed in water

Is it possible to fish here?

    No.

Can you grill your own food at the park? And if so what do you need to bring?

Yes they have picnic areas with BBQ's so you can just bring coals and food! You could either contact henderson parks dept. to reserve a spot or just go. Every single time I have been there, there is BBQ's available.

Are we allowed to use Stand-Up Paddleboards (SUP) or kayaks at this lake?

No. They have signs posted stating no water activity.

    Can you fish here?

There is fish in the lake but you can not fish, since the water is not fit for human consumption

Could you please let me know where there might be a charming place to get some good coffee/tea or other non-alcoholic beverages near the park?

There's a brand new Starbucks less than a half mile from the park

The splash pad here is one of the largest splash pad at Henderson parks. It is spread out to give kids plenty of space to splash and play. It has a variety of features too. The splash pad is conveniently located next to a set of bathrooms and changing stalls. One of my favorite things about this park is all the green grass out in open spaces. I love having all the open space to let my toddler safely run. A lot of people bring blankets and hang out or have a picnic. The playground is good for about three years and up. A lot of the climbing features would be too big for really little ones. There are also two big slides in the side of a hill. There aren't any swings at this playground. There is a large covered pavilion area in between the playground and splash pad. It's large enough to be rented out for two different parties. We attended a toddler birthday party here and it was a nice space for that. The city should put up signs that the pavilions are paid rentals though. My friend arrived to find a party happening in the area she rented. The other party didn't know rentals were to be arranged through the city. She felt bad and gave up some of her rental space because she didn't want to ruin a kid's birthday party. Another cool thing about Mission Hills is the shaved ice truck that has a permanent spot when it's hot out. How perfect to be able to grab shaved ice when playing in the heat.
