This place is delicious. I was turned on to this place by a Persian friend. My family has been going to Corner Grill since it was originally a market and grill. We typically get the 2x Koobideh combo (#3), the Koobideh/Chicken combo (#6) and a pound of gyro meat. Both the Koobideh and Chicken are always so flavorful and tender. The rice and salad (with dressing on side) are always fresh and tasty. They also give you Sumac, which I had never tried before going to Corner Grill. Now I have a bag of the spice at home to add to my rice. Love it. On this last visit, my order was incorrect. I ordered the number #3 and #6, but my #6 did not have the Koobideh, only the chicken. I called the operator/owner and he apologized. I just wanted to let him know so the next time I go in, he can take care of it for me. He offered to refund to my credit card some $$$, but I said I'll just mention it next time. The operator/owner is always very friendly and accommodating. In typical fashion, our meal was to go. This was our second time here..and it was outstanding. The chicken is so delicious..the tzatziki is so fresh..the shirazi was amazing..the pita was perfect..the only item missing was the fresh feta My daughter said this was the best baklava she has ever had!! Best Mediterranean food in Vista. The meat is well seasoned and the rice is so delicious. The quantity is filling and I even had extras to eat for lunch the next day. This place is tucked away in a shopping center on the north side of the 78, near an In and Out. It's easy to miss: sitting in the corner of the center, and attached to a Middle Eastern market. It's a pretty simple hole in the wall place, but that how the tastiest food tends to come from! The shopkeeper was really nice and welcoming. I'm a bit of a noob to Persian food aside from a few dishes I'd had, so he gave me some great recommendations. I had a take on beef stew, which was their daily special. It was much like biryani Tender chunks of beef simmered to perfection in a pilaf, served with a fresh marinated salad of tomatoes and cucumbers. It was delicious, and really reasonably priced!! Other menu items that looked awesome were their kebabs and badamjoon (a simmered eggplant dish, that I really enjoy!). Cheap food, tasty food and friendly staff - 5 stars all that way! read more

Great discovery! On the corner of a hidden strip mall off the 78 @ Emerald, you will find a superior Mediterranean option that far exceeds quality! We've visited here a few times now since last year and have made this a go-to spot just about every week since 2021. My husband enjoys the groceries you can pickup here located within the corner grill. The meats we've tried - chicken kabobs, koobideh kabob and filet mignon are fantastic and flavorful!! Usually not a rice fan, but enjoy the meats paired with their Basmati Rice and freshly made green salad! Always kind and attentive customer service! They also serve Gormeh Sabzi, which is one of my favorite Persian dishes, and very hard to find in other restaurants unless you want to drive at least 35 to 50 miles from Vista. What an awesome Middle Eastern and European market in Vista! It's been around for 14 years, and Hammed is a really nice and helpful guy! There is a deli section with Persian food and a variety of good quality middle eastern and Eastern European groceries like fresh bakeries, frozen rye bread, yogurt, Laleh saffron ice cream, pickled herring, olives in glass jars, cookies, crackers, chocolates, pasta, tabouleh, basmati rice, and other dry, refrigerated and frozen foods! Their selection of produce is limited but I saw that they have quince and some red onions that look like they're from someone's garden! Hammed was very nice to show me the brands Nobel and another brand with the Iranian flag which make amazing pastries including baklava. The store carry both the dry Greek/Turkish baklava and the more moist and honey-glazed Persian version. The food at the deli was made to order so I was using my 20 minutes to browse the store aisle by aisle. I was really happy to find all the products I wanted! By the way, the other store North Park Produce once told me Laleh ice cream closed down when I was asking for it, leaving me very disappointed. I found it here and asked Hammed what happened. Laleh is still running and many people are still enjoying it, just not in the deceitful North Park Produce. read more

This is an unassuming restaurant. It's Persian (Iranian) despite the Mediterranean moniker. The beef based kebabs were good but unremarkable in my opinion. However, the chicken chunks (kebabs) are incredible! Super juicy and extremely flavorful with charring on the highest points. I can't say enough about the chicken. Tasted like white meat but had the juiciness of dark meat. The sides and bread were also good. I don't think I have ever had a better chicken kebab, hopefully the recipe/methods never change because it's my favorite kebab. read more
