Finally the server came back and gave us the drinks and before leaving again she said we'll give you time to select your food choices. We said no, we have been waiting for you and do not need another minute to order. We had to keep flagging the server down and eventually asked other help for assistance. The last straw was the server came back and asked do you need more pita bread, we said we never received any and yes, we would like some. Well, the server never came back with any pita. Nor did the server remember. There are just some servers that are not focused. You can tell the server is standing in front of you but not looking at you in an attentive manner. Somehow this server was looking past us, we are asking for things but the server did not compute in the brain.

I had such a delightful experience at Corner Grill Mediterranean Cuisine! First off, the service was genuinely sweet, and the owner's contagious smile made the atmosphere feel welcoming and warm. Learning that the restaurant has been around for three years made me so proud of their success--it's a testament to their great food and dedication to quality. Supporting local entrepreneurship, especially one that brings such diverse cuisine to the area, feels so rewarding. I ordered the Number Five combo meal, and every part of it was absolutely delicious. The marinade on the chicken was unlike anything I've tasted before--each bite was so flavorful that I just wanted to savor it. The salad was incredibly fresh, and the light, flavorful dressing had my mouth watering. The blistered tomato was a perfect touch and made everything feel even more nourishing. We went with the chicken rice and salad plate, along with a side of hummus and pita bread, and it completely blew us away. The chicken was cooked to absolute perfection--tender, juicy, and packed with incredible flavor. As for the sides, hands down: best hummus and pita bread ever. The pita was warm, fresh, and fluffy, and the hummus was ultra-creamy and bursting with authentic flavor. What truly sets Corner Grill apart, though, is the heart behind it. We visited the Corner Grill today, and it was an incredible experience! My girlfriend ordered the chicken with rice and salad, while I went for the Barg plate. The chicken was bursting with flavor--I couldn't resist taking a couple of bites myself. As for the Barg (filet), it was phenomenal! The meat was so tender that I didn't even need a knife; it practically fell apart on its own. The mast-o-khiar (if I've got the name right--feel free to correct me) was the perfect complement to the meat on my Barg plate. The salad paired wonderfully with what I believe was a sabzi sauce (again, correct me if I'm wrong). Although I didn't snap photos of the food, I did capture the amazing dips and sauces, which I'll share. To top it all off, we ended our meal with the purchase cheesecake and another delicious dessert! The owner was so kind and even taught me a few things about Persian desserts. I recently tried Corner Grill and ordered the chicken kabob plate. The chicken itself was pretty good, tender and flavorful but personally, I felt the seasoning or the way it was cooked left it a little too wet for my liking. I usually prefer my chicken a bit more charred for that smoky, grilled texture. One small thing I noticed was the plate only came with half a small tomato as the veggie side. I've been to other spots where they include onions, bell peppers, and all that good stuff, which really rounds out the meal. The food was very good. I ordered online and the order was ready when I arrived a few minutes early. The place is good for lunch or dinner with friends. The ambiance is simple and clean. There is a good variety of desserts with chocolate and cheese cakes. But also baclava. I had the Koobideh with Rice and Salad and topped it off with the baclava. All were very tasty. We had a tiny leftover left of the rice, naan and Aloo Matar. Otherwise we devoured our entire meal. It was that yummy!!! We love this place. Everything about our experience felt like your grandmother or aunties made these food just for you. It was that authentic and cozy! If you're by Carlsbad and want to experience the taste of Nepal, Indian and Tibetan cuisine, this place is for you. They will treat you like family. This will be our go to place when we visit Carlsbad again. Will be back!!!
